Ideas For Full Liquid Stage...
Amom2twins replied to learning to fly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The soups I bought were already pureed. I always strained everything just in case. These were convenient since they came in a recloseable carton that i poured into a cup to microwave as I needed them. They really tasted great and were inexpensive. -
I would try walking briskly everyday to start out with. I'm sure your you will see a change in the scale if you get some exercise. That really helped me.

Ideas For Full Liquid Stage...
Amom2twins replied to learning to fly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought some soups from Trader Joes in cartons that were pureed such as black bean, corn chowder, sweet potato bisque. I strained them to make sure but there were no bits & pieces and it actually tasted really good. -
You are a whole new person, so pretty & I would never guess by looking at the "after" photos that you were ever 100 lbs heavier. Congrats on such a dramatic transformation. I bet you feel so much better. I love my sleeve too!

Ok, I'm Freaking Out!
Amom2twins replied to smartypants's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Stay calm & try not to stress. You won't regret making healthy changes in your life. Imagine all the health problems and surgeries you will be avoiding by lowering your BMI and weight. I knew I would eventually end up having a heart attack or stroke so I looked at this surgery as a lifesaver & so far so good. I am down 45 lbs in 7 weeks and looking forward to my healthy future. -
4 Weeks Out And Stalled
Amom2twins replied to KittyFromBC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hit a stall in the 3rd & 4th week (only lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks) but i upped my walking to a brisk 3 miles every evening & the weight is coming off fine again. I am 7 weeks post op & down 45 lbs total. I'm sure you will drop more weight very soon. -
So happy for u! I remember how relieved I was when I got my approval...your future is looking bright!

Most Humiliating Fat Moment
Amom2twins replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work with inmates & it is verbal abuse everyday. My coworkers tease everyone (helps us get through the stress) & I laugh but the jokes are never funny to me when they are directed at my weight but I laugh it off to hide my pain. There is a man at work who likes me & he is overweight like me. Someone asked if we hang out & watch the Food Network together. It was in front of a bunch of people & very humiliating. -
Yummy that sounds like something I need to try tomorrow. Thanks for the great idea!

3 Weeks Out, And Already In A Stall...
Amom2twins replied to cissiesue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 25 lbs the 1st 2 weeks, then 5 lbs the 2nd 2 weeks. I was upset too but I was told by my docotor's office that everyone hits a stall. Your body is adjusting. I don't own a scale so I won't find out if I lost anymore until my next doctor appt. Don't stress, just keeping doing what you are supposed to be doing & the weight will come off. -
What Do You Want To Do When You Are Healthier?
Amom2twins replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would love to exercise. Heck, I want to be able to walk & go up stairs w/o getting out of breath. I want to feel pretty again. I want to fit into a booth without feeling my stomach smashed in. Most of all, I want to be healthy and feel good with no aches & pains, & sleep apnea from being overweight. -
Congrats on your weight loss, that is incredible!

So happy for you! I am proud of you and I'm sure your mom would be too!

What Was Your First Month's Weight Loss?
Amom2twins replied to lunabella007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so glad you posted this question. I was feeling a bit down earlier today because I lost 25 lbs the 1st 13 days & 5 lbs the last 2 weeks. I thought I should have lost more but that is 30 lbs total in 27 days so after reading the posts, I seem to fit in with what is "normal". At least the scale is going in the right direction -

Good luck to you, your weight loss is amazing so far! I sure can relate with feeling like the biggest person in the room. Where I work, we wear uniforms and I am well aware that it isn't flattering on me. Congrats on making the decision to be healthier & happier! -
Congrats on your weight loss journey. It is the best decision I've made in a long time.

How Soon Did You Try Guacamole, Salsa, Hot Cheetos, Doritos? Sorry I Just Had Surgery On Tuesday And Omg :o Im Addicted To All Of That.
Amom2twins replied to Karen2012's topic in Food and Nutrition
I have had spicy mustard in won ton soup broth while I was 2 weeks post-op & was fine, in fact it tasted great. I waited until I was in my 3rd week to have refried beans & spicy guacamole. No problems & I loved it. -
I bought won ton soup from a Chinese take-out and strained it so at least the broth I was drinking tasted good. Some of the canned varieties from the store taste awful. I also blended and strained bean soups, wedding soup, minestrone soup. You may have to add broth to make them thin enough.

I had a drain tube for 3 days while I was still in the hospital. It didn't hurt, but looked kinda gross because what drained out looked like watery blood. There was no pain involved though & when it was removed it felt like I had "roller coaster" stomach for a second.
-
They gave me Sweet & Low while I was in the hospital & I have been using Splenda at home. I haven't had any problems with it & it tastes great!

Sleeved This Past Monday-Home Terrified Today
Amom2twins replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had back pain at first. I think it was because I was trying to favor my incisions so I was walking hunched over. I feel better everyday & hope you do too. Try sipping warm liquids, a good cup of tea makes me feel the best. -
I was prescribed demerol pills that I crushed up and mixed with a bit of fluid. It tasted terrible though, but did the trick when I needed it.
