I liked Muscle Milk light when I was on liquids, especially since it comes in a variety of flavors and is ready to drink.

I Want To Post B4 & After Photos On My Profile But Don't Know How
Amom2twins posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Could someone please explain where I go to upload my b4 & after pics on my profile? I was able to upload a photo but it is showing up as my main photo when I post and I wanted it to be my b4 photo. This is a photo from my heaviest weight from Dec. 2011. I have very few photos of myself at that weight since I avoided cameras but I was with my bff at Melting Pot and she wanted a pic of us. I am almost 60 lbs lighter now & proud of it. -
Today some relatives from out of town were visiting at my uncle's home with lots of other relatives in attendance. I chose to go (I wouldn't have gone in the past since I was embarrassed about my weight). Instead of feeling ashamed and self conscious, I felt empowered and happy. They were all happy to see me & I rec'd lots of compliments on my weight loss. I love my sleeve!

How Many Lbs Did You Lose Before Dropping Pants Size
Amom2twins posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be going back to work soon & tried on my uniform pants. I have lost almost 50 lbs but these stinking pants still fit me. They are a lot looser but geez, I expected them to fall off me. Granted these were probably very tight on me before. Did anyone else have this happen? Initially, how many lbs did you have to lose before getting a smaller pants size. -

Update: I need to get smaller uniform pants, finally! I have dropped 53 lbs so that was the magic number apparently. The current ones are very baggy & this makes me very happy! -

I was probably pouring myself into pants that were too small because where I work you have to go exchange them and have it all documented with the size written down that you take. It can feel humiliating to go up a size when I know I am already obese to begin with. I look forward to exchanging these for a smaller size very soon! -
I definitely wouldn't recommend eating a regular hot dog. I ate a Nathan's hot dog about a month ago (no bun) & it was too greasy and made me feel lousy. I used to eat 2 or 3 of them with fries no problem but that was the old me. Not going back!

Worried About Link Between Morning Sickness And Post Vsg Nausea
Amom2twins replied to Laura1234's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have some good news for you. I had horrible nausea my entire pregnancy (every day). I won't call it morning sickness because it seemed to be all day. I was sleeved on 6/5 & haven't had one bout of nausea or vomiting at all. I fully expected to have some but so far so good! -
Non Protein Shake Ideas For Lots Of Protein
Amom2twins replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in Food and Nutrition
I made grilled shrimp for dinner on skewers for lunch today & it was sooo good. They are moist enough & full of protein, especially if you like a squeeze of fresh lemon on them. -

I didn't mention that I can wear jeans that are 4 sizes smaller but the uniform pants are polyester and the waistband has a bit of stretch to them. I must have been at maximum capacity in them before. I was really hoping to have a dramatic difference when I went back to work, but I know that big milestones take time. I guess I'll find out by my coworkers comments. They don't hold back where I work. -

Non Protein Shake Ideas For Lots Of Protein
Amom2twins replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in Food and Nutrition
Plain greek yogurt mixed with a bit of MIO drink mix is tasty & an excellent source of protein. I also like low-fat cottage cheese. These are both easy for me to tolerate. -
I had a salad from Chipotle at 6 wks but I had them leave off the rice, sour cream & cheese. It tasted heavenly & I had no problems. It was enough for 3 meals.

Have a sugar free popsicle or busy yourself with a good movie or call a friend. I like to get on this website for encouragement so you are already coming to the right place.

Weighing In? Your Thoughts?
Amom2twins replied to Sannah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get weighed every two weeks. I find when I do it more frequently, I get disappointed. I like to see a nice number change. -
At What Weight Limit Did You Say "you Have Had Enough"?
Amom2twins replied to Gonnabeslim1day's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I ballooned up to 290 lbs, and when I saw myself in a mirror I didn't even recognize myself anymore. I knew I had to do something, not only did I look bad, I felt physically horrible. My knees & back ached and my eating was out of control. This was the best decision I could have made for myself. -
Goal Weight. - How You Get The Number?
Amom2twins replied to scorpion509's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my doctor what a healthy weight for me would be. I would love to be skinny but I am more interested in being healthy & realistic. 150 would give me a good BMI. -
Good for you! I love my sleeve & I'm sure you will too. Your weight related health problems will be gone in no time.

Day 2 Post Op Question (Maybe Tmi)
Amom2twins replied to Izuri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Perhaps you should try hot liquids such as hot tea or broth. I was told plain water can create surface tension and can give you that stuck feeling. If you mix the water with lemon or a drink mix it shouldn't happen. The more fluids you can get in, the better. -
The pain is different for everyone. I still have some soreness 7 weeks post-op & it was really hurting bad for a few weeks after surgery. I just got checked to see if I had developed a hernia since I "shouldn't" be having pain at this time but I am fine. The doctor said some people are more sensitive & I probably had an allergic reaction to the stitches & glue he used since I also have redness at the incision sites. Make sure you tell your doctor about your pain but know that you aren't alone in feeling this way. My pain is going away more & more everyday.

Acid Reflux
Amom2twins replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take prevacid daily. I had reflux before surgery but since I haven't had it at all, even with spicy foods. -
Mine were glued as well except for the biggest incision that was stitched. I would have welcomed staples though because I had an allergic reaction to the glue and it made my skin very itchy & slow healing.

Yay! Met With The Doctor! :)
Amom2twins replied to klerose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What a great start. I found drinking pop was a major problem for me, I was totally addicted before surgery. Giving it up was the best thing I could do. Good luck with getting an approval! -
Even though your husband isn't on board right now, I'm sure if he understood the benefits & the procedure he might come around. This isn't an "easy way out", the easy way is doing nothing. Good luck, you will find tons of support on this website.
