Thanks everyone.... Yes, I feel like I'm back at the beginning and it feels great!!! The 5DPT is a condensed version of what you would do the weeks after surgery. Below is a link to the website. If you feel like you need to get balanced again, got a little side tracked and want to see if your band is still working I highly recommend trying this for a week. http://5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html

Hi everyone.... On my last thread I had asked if anyone tried the 5 Day Pouch Test? Well... I did. It works... I'm back on track now. No more carb cravings and taught me to measure foods again. Even though I was following my doctors plan I must have just been missing that one step. I even lost 2.8 lbs. That alone finally gave me the confidence and push that I need to not give up to keep moving forward!!!! I even tried Zumba for the first time and it felt great!!!! I highly recommend the 5DPT for anyone that is struggling or just needs a reset!!! Big shout out to the author Kaye Bailey..thank you!!!!

I thought I was reading one of my post or that your were in my head writing what I'm feeling. I will be banded next month for a year and have only lost 20 lbs. It is very discouraging. Especially after you make a life changing decision and still nothing helps. Everyone on this forum has great advice. I was feeling completely devastated and discouraged yesterday that I too wanted to give up. Then I started reason the posts. It's given my the push that I need. I've seen alot of posts about the 5 day pouch test. Very similar to what you would do after being banded. I'm going to start that today. Hopefully it will take me back to the start/push that I need. GOOD LUCK AND STAY STRONG!!!! With the help of everyone we can do this!!!!! -

I'm not completely sure. I've just started reading their website. Below I've copied the info from their home page. It's suppose to bring the band back to new tightness.... I've been banded a year and only have lost 20 lbs.. I'm so frustrated so I'm willing to try anything to help. Hope below helps explain.... The 5 Day Pouch Test by Kaye Bailey Does my pouch still work? Have I broken my pouch? Have I ruined my tool? These are questions many weight loss surgery post-ops find themselves asking occasionally during their journey. Perhaps it feels like we can eat more food or we know that we are eating more food. Sometimes these questions are asked when there has been a weight regain. This is the 5-day plan that I have developed and used to determine if my pouch is working and return to that tight newbie feeling. And a bonus to this plan, it helps one get back to the basics of the weight loss surgery diet and it triggers weight loss. Also, it is not difficult to follow and if you are in a stage of carb-cycling it will break this pattern. Sounds pretty good, right? Order the 5 Day Pouch Test Owner's Manual The 5 Day Pouch Test should never leave you feeling hungry. You can eat as much of the prescribed menu as you want during the day to satiate hungry and prevent snacking on slider foods and/or white carbs. You must drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day. A reduction of caffeinated beverages is suggested, but do not stop caffeine cold turkey. Weight loss is not the intent of the 5 Day Pouch Test, however, many who have tried this plan report a significant drop in weight. More importantly they celebrate a renewed sense of control over their pouch and eating habits and easily transition back to a healthy post-surgical weight loss way of eating. Understanding Hunger, Appetite and Satiety Below you will find a brief list of the menu for each day. Please click the "Read more" links for further detail and hints and tips that will enable your success with the 5 Day Pouch Test. Days One & Two: Liquid Protein low-carb protein shakes, broth, clear or cream soups, sugar-free gelatin and pudding. Read more. Day 3: Soft Protein canned fish (tuna or salmon) eggs, fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, orange roughy. Read more. Day 4: Firm Protein ground meat (turkey, beef, chicken, lamb), shellfish, scallops, lobster, fresh salmon or halibut. Read more. Day 5: Solid Protein white meat poultry, beef steak, pork, lamb, wild game Read more. Good luck! I believe you are going to like the results when you give this plan an honest try. Cheers! Has anyone tried this? If so, did it help jump start your weight loss?

Well.... It will be a year next month and I've only lost 20 lbs!!!!!. So frustrated, depressed. Doctors found that my thyroid was sluggish so they started me on medicine 2 months ago. I exercise, eat no more than 1200 calories a day. Has this happen to anyone? Any advice?
-
Hi loribelle.... I too have a 11cc band. Just received another fill yesterday and I'm now at 10cc. I'm hoping for restriction. My doctor said that sometimes it takes filling your band completely before restriction in some people. My weight loss has been extremely slow. Praying with this last fill and making sure I get my calories in, the weight will start to come off. Stay positive... Being on here is great support!

Hello everyone... I've not been in for awhile. Crazy work.. Anyhow, I need help. I was banded in March of this year. To date I've only lost 16 lbs. Had my second visit with the nutritionist today since being banded. She says that I'm not eating enough. I thought we were only suppose to eat a cup per meal. That is what I have been doing as well as exercising. Since March I have been going for fills btw 4-6 weeks. I have a realize band that holds only 11cc. As of today I have 10cc and no restriction. They checked to see if I have a slow leak today by pulling all fluid our from the band. No leak. The nutritionists wants me to eat btw 1000-1200 daily. What if I finally have restriction after this fill? How am I going to be able to eat that much? Has anyone had this problem? If so, please give me some advice. Thanks!!!!

I go back next week also for a fill. I'm hoping this will put me in the green zone too. Its solo frustrating. Especially when see how much weight other people have lost in a short period of time. Praying we all hit the green zone and the weight starts falling off.

Hi everyone..... Any advice for a slow loser? I was banded on 3/23/12 and have only lost 16 pounds to date. So frustrating!!!! I watch what I eat. I will be honest... I'm not a big exerciser. I'm a realtor/ rental agent in a beach resort area and this time of the year I'm lucky if I even get to eat lunch. I have been thinking about doing a liquid diet for a week and hoping that it will jump start my weight lose. Any suggestions?
