  1. I found some chewable multivitamins at a local health food store. They are pineapple flavored and just ok, but they turn your pee REALLY bright yellow! I'm really glad I didn't opt for the cranberry flavor! LOL

    Noisy Stomach?

Wonderful!! I'm reading this as I'm sipping on my morning Protein shake, at work! I'll let you know if I get run out of my office later! LOL Had my first fill Monday, and all was fine until last night. I got a Tylenol stuck, and the first bite of a snack because I was truly hungry about 7:30 pm -- both came back up, unfortunately. And the Tylenol hurt like a son of a gun. So, I guess I'm definitely feeling restriction now, where I hadn't in the past. I'll be VERY careful today! Everyone have a good day too!

    Noisy Stomach?

Oh my gosh, ME TOO! And I work in a quiet office, too! It's really embarrassing sometimes, I'm just sure the people in the cubicle(s) next to me can hear it! And I'm not hungry, although the gurgling makes me wonder if I am! UGH!
  4. P.S. to the above - I'm at 3cc's now ~ I forgot to mention that!!
  5. Yes, my doctor put in 2cc's and I just had my first fill 2 days ago ~ I have steadily lost weight, 1-2# week, since two weeks before surgery, I'm now at 6-1/2 weeks out and 21# down, so I'm very pleased at this point. But I'm also good at self-control and motivation - severe arthritis, joints have been replaced, multiple surgeries over the past few years and I don't want ANY more, so this will be the turning point in my life to a healthier, happier and more active me. Sound like an advertisement, don't I? Thanks, Wendell for your information, it has been very helpful to me!

    Re-Banded May 26

I'm also curious - what causes slippage, or whatever leads to rebanding? Not that I'm worried, I seem to be doing fine compared to other's notes, just curious!
  7. PS - I was on another diet (weren't we all at one time?) and used this for a Protein substitute (since I don't eat meat).... Blend the following 3 ingredients and enjoy - look at the ricotta cheese package to see how much one serving is so you don't overdo, because this is SO yummy! My favorite is pistachio. 1 small container of low fat ricotta cheese 1 package of sugar free pudding, your favorite flavor a few drops of skim or fat free milk to thin the mixture, if needed...
  8. sleepyone, I live and work in Bloomington/Normal, so I wouldn't be driving to Champaign at night (I get up about 4:30 am!) PLUS, I've found since surgery I'm just exhausted all the time. I'm getting enough protein, I just wonder why I'd be so tired. I drove to Peoria the other day and by the time I got back home, I had to take a 90 minute nap!
  9. Maria, I work for a BIG company and we do have good insurance. However, I started this journey in 2011, had to have my family physician follow my diet for at least six months, and he did NOT support me. So I switched doctors. Just at the end of the diet program, my insurance dropped that requirement and I was immediately approved. I was to have the surger in April, but it was scheduled a day before a wedding for a very close friend, so I postponed it until May. So, actually my "journey" was 15 months!!
  10. Oh gosh, it hasn't even been a week, how are you struggling? The first week is the worst, but it does get better as you see progress. Where is the support group?
  11. Hi everyone ~ Dr Sid banded me on 5/4 and I've lost 18# since my "3-in-1" visit 2 weeks before that. My 6 week checkup is 6/18, and I am already feeling pretty good about this journey! I'm in Bloomington/Normal, if anybody is nearby!

How Long Does It Take To Reprogram My Hard Drive?

I quit smoking 13 years ago and every once in awhile, I still get the urge, or get really stressed and wish I had a cigarette, but I've never "gone there". Then as quickly as it appeared, it goes away and I'm glad I didn't indulge. I'm sure the same thing will happen with food addiction! It's a lifestyle change!
  13. I'll be 3 weeks tomorrow (5/25) and have lost 16#, but still focusing on liquids and mushy stuff. I have to really be careful that it is mushy and wet enough, because if it gets stuck, it isn't any fun when it comes back up.

    May Bandsters!

Good morning, how do I get the "ticker" thing that shows progress? I am now 12 days post op, have lost 15# overall (10# prior to surgery on the pre-op diet). But I was disappointed when I tried to wear one of last summer's blouses - I'm still a bit swollen at the port site, and you could see the bruise through the blouse. but it's only been less than 2 weeks, so I guess I shouldn't complain yet, right? I don't post often, but try to read as much of the posts as I can. Glad to hear everyone is doing great! I actually had a food "test" over the weekend. We went to a buffet and I had about 1/4 cup of meatloaf, 1/4 cup mashed potatoes, and about the same amount of spaghetti. I mushed it all up together, took teeny tiny bites, and it took me a half hour to eat it all, making sure I put my fork down between bites. The server kept coming by and wanting to take my plate, and I just said, no, I'm a slow eater! HAHA - this time last year I would have been through TWO plates of food in a half hour and heading toward the dessert bar! I was pretty proud of myself! My husband kept looking at me worrying that I was going to throw up ~ but I had no problems at all! Now I have to get back to work ~ ttyl! Sue

    May Bandsters!

Hi everyone ~ I'm having my surgery tomorrow, May 4th, so may I join you? Is there a way on this site to be notified of posts or anything? I'm not the most technically savvy person in the world! Jackie'sGirl, I definitely understand your fear of failure. I'm right there with you. Nothing else has worked, what makes this different? It looks like we will be finding out together and hopefully we will all be successful and healthier for our efforts! Sue Normal, IL (yes, really, there is a "Normal" in Illinois!)
