How To Pick A Protein Powder

Thanks everyone for the great info! I'll definately be getting the Unjury sample pack!
  6. I'm pre-op and am about to start my diet soon. I want to start playing around with smoothie recipes but I'm unsure how to pick a Protein powder. I know taste plays a part and varies for each individual but I'm wondering of there's a standard to go by, such as grams of protein, carbs, sugars, ect. Also are we better off with whey, Soy, ect... Any info would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Going Back To Work After Vsg

I'm really glad to hear some of you with office jobs were able to return to work so quickly! I was dreading being out longer than necessary! Good to know, thanks!
  9. Help! Not too long ago a thread was posted (unsure of under what forum) and the person shared a HUGE list of Protein shake recipes (at least 20). I thought I made note of it but apparently not. If anyone knows the post I'm talking about could you please point me to the post or person who posted? Thanks in advance!

    Psych Eval

I have my eval next week & it's also in 2 parts. I was told the questionnaire takes about 1.5 hours and the regular chat about an hour. Not sure why I'm nervous, I always do well on these kinds of things but I am... Good luck to everyone taking it!

  12. I personally am not bothered to tell people I'm going thru WLS. Im not going to make it seem I'm doing this on my own..bc I'm not. I need help and I'm ok admitting that. I've had nothing but positivity with sharing my experience and then even if someone does say something...who cares? It's not about them, it's about me and I'll be damned if I allow anyone's opinion to affect me any longer...think about it isn't that where a lot of our eating stems from? Emotions? Bad self talk? Others opinions? Negative comments? I'm taking my life back and for me admitting it is part of the process in regaining myself. I hope that by being open & honest about this it will help someone else looking to change their lives too..I didn't know one of my best friend's had WLS, finding out about her journey gave me the strength to start my own. Good luck to all!! =)
  13. Hi, Im new and like all of you I decided to make a positive change with my life and shed this weight! I just recently decided to forgo the LapBand for VSG and so far Im super happy with my choice. I dont have an official surgery day yet, Im still in pre-op with a majority of my testing being done tomorrow (sono, chest xray, labs, pulmonary). Im hoping it wont be much longer as my insurance has approved everything so far with no resistance. Just wanted to say hi and Im looking forward to getting to know everyone =)

    Clothing

I've been holding off on buying anything new as well, luckily I kept several different sizes throughout the years! My bariatric center also has a clothing swap for patients, maybe see if yours does too? Im just looking forward to my pants being too big my only clothing issue =)
  16. I thought the same thing, I was only going to tell a few people about my choice bc I didn't want to hear a bunch of unwanted feedback. I wasnt even planning on telling my parents & I'm in my 30s! The more I thought about it I realized I could use this entire ordeal to help someone else. So I broke down and told my friends and family and have been charting the entire process on my blog. I was surprised by the amount of support I received and am glad to be able to share & help other people who are considering the same path. Plus for me, being open keeps me accountable! Good luck to you in whatever you decide!!
  17. Not sure if I'll have to do a wait or not, in the process of pre-op tests (ultrasound, sleep study), I'm assuming I'll find out after the doctor has all the results and puts in for the approval. It's nervewracking for sure!
