Am I Over-Reacting?
Anniesmom12 replied to Gibbys Goddess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have weeks like that as well....and have since about 5 months...I am almost a year out now and have slowed down a good bit. But I stick to the plan, stay the course and wait for results. I know that I am working hard, and that is SO much better than preop! Keep up the good work!! It'll work out.... -
Family is still suffering from complications of RNY
Anniesmom12 replied to PiRatFamily's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry to hear of all the trouble. Hope they find out soon what is going on. Prayers for you all! -
What is the reason you are filing for disability?
-
good luck on your journey. It's different for each one of us, but we all support each other! Hoping things go well for you and you can move over to the losers bench with us!

so sorry that happened. But I would have done the same thing....right out of the store! It doesnt matter who you were shopping for... he should have left you alone! I am sure he's not on commission at Kmart...what's it to him. Hang in there .... you'll show him!

Would u go on vacation 8weeks after surgery?
Anniesmom12 replied to kparadisek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would plan on taking my food items and watching the activities to make sure they weren't too much... but YES, I never turn down a vacation!! Make sure you drink plenty of fluids! And carry your food with you in your purse or backpack so you are not tempted to just eat what's available. Good luck and have fun! -
Am I the only one who doesn't have a goal weight?
Anniesmom12 replied to shawna29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i just took a stab at saying 165... hoping to get there but I just wanna be able to be "normal" and feel good about how I look and be able to do things with my family. If I make it to 165 great... if I just make it to 200 great! I will be happy to not have to struggle with carrying all that weight around! -
hope things get better for you soon! Wishing you well!

What do you say?
Anniesmom12 replied to saramichelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually just say I am making some eating changes, trying to be healthier. They seem to accept it and move on. Only 2 times have I been asked if I was sick. Once I was asked if I had cancer and the second time I was asked if I was diabetic "yet". Just stick to your plan, dont fold under pressure. This too shall pass! -
Beginning My Journey
Anniesmom12 replied to KellyLessBelly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
this is truly an amazing story. Thank you for sharing it, I know it's not easy. I wish you well on your jouney to health, happiness and healing. My thoughts and prayers are with you! -
You will have plenty of energy once you are postop (after the healing period) Some days its all I can do to stop and rest for a little bit. I haven't had this much energy EVER! I am doing things, going places and enjoying life as I should have been all along--- but was too heavy to do it! It's a process to get there...but once you are there it is fantastic! Enjoy the journey!

wow, sorry to hear that. Miralax usually works for me pretty quick (24 hours). Increase your Water and see if it helps. Miralax draws water from your colon to help flush the colon....so maybe you need more Fluid.

I am making some dishes to take to a cookout that are RNY friendly for me (including protein pudding dessert) and I am taking my own hamburger patty to cook on the grill. (they are having the higher fat burgers, mine is lean meat)

Surgery TOMORROW!
Anniesmom12 replied to losing4mylife's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wishing you a speedy, easy recovery! See you on the loser bench! -
Good luck, you'll be happy you got everything done before surgery. I did the same thing, and rested much better after surgery. Hope you recover well and easy!
-
great job! Cant wait till I see 250 again!!
-
good for you on the weight loss, hope the thrush is gone soon!
-
Miralax to get you going....stool softners to keep you from having issues again. I take 2 stool softners every other day to just to keep from having issues. Don't forget you are eating less...so less travels through.... but if you're like me I know when I am needing to "go"..!

I had RNY Aug 13, 2012.... I didnt have a struggle at all from day one. I have not been tired (as a matter of fact I cant seem to stop! My family has to make me sit down at times!), I eat good healthy foods (not in mass quantity anymore, but enough to fuel my body instead) I dont have any vitamin problems. Not everyone has issues. Some of us have the surgery and do very well. I hope you make a decision based on what is right for you. It's not an easy way out I promise, but for your health it could be the best. Good luck!

9 months post/op
Anniesmom12 replied to RhondaWilliams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at 370 (well i was more than that but thats where I was at the 1st appt)...and I had trouble seeing any changes in the beginning. they were happening....but I just was so used to seeing me at 370+ that I couldnt see less. I felt like i'd never be small (and still do feel that way) but I can look at photos and tell a difference!! And now in the mirror I see a smaller me. hang in there...you'll get there!! You may never "feel" small...but you are!! -
Ready for the long haul...
Anniesmom12 replied to cat1342's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
wow, good job! Planning is the most important part of this journey! My grandmother used to tell me "Failure to plan is planning to fail". Sounds like you are on your way to a successful surgery and a wonderful health life! I wish you all the best, ...time flies and the surgery date will be here before you know it. Wishing you all the best! -
LOL, I know what you mean!! I check out my collar bones every chance I get. Something else I "found" and had to ask one of the nurse I work with what it was... ARM MUSCLES! I have NEVER seen my arms with muscles!! I can flex them and everything!! I was worried I was developing some kind of tumor! She just laughed at me and said "Nope, you've got a case of muscles!" Who knew I'd have those!!

I settled the first time and married an older man, even though I didnt love him, because I was fat and thought he was the only man that would want me.... 10 years later we divorced. My weight went WAY up (above the 370 I started this journey on) and I just went with what ever came along. I did lose about 50-60 lbs on diet pills and met a group of people and started going out with them. I met the man that is now my 2nd husband when I weighed 370, (he's not skinny) He and I dated for about 3 months and then married. Once again I married because I thought I'd never find anyone else and I settled. Like I said there were many men I dated between the husbands, never had a problem getting a date.... but I settled AGAIN... and now there are MANY issues... his total disrespect for me is the main one!! But I have gained my confidence and am working on MY issues and things are slowly getting better. Just DONT SETTLE! You are worthy of love, respect and someone to encourage you!! No matter what size you wear or how much you weigh!
