Hello Victoria Secret! =)
Anniesmom12 replied to Erin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am SO happy for you! I cant wait to have my surgery and join you as a VS shopper!! It's the little things like buying a "normal" bra and underware from a name brand store that make this a wonderful adventure! I hope you have many more great nsv's like this!! Hey, you can save that one for me....cause I am sure you'll be losing a lot more...and will need to go down a few more sizes! -
Congrats! I have Tricare South, but its Reserve select.... I am almost done with my weight loss appts, and hoping to have my EGD on July 20th and surgery on Aug. 6th. Hoping there isnt a snafu with Tricare that makes it go past that date!!

Random Things To Look Forward To...
Anniesmom12 replied to Beachbum's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to be able to go to sporting events and sit in a seat, or a movie theater (we have one in town that is old, has good movies but I can sit in the seats!) I am looking forward to being able to use the regular bathroom stalls sit in a booth walk around the local mall without feeling like i need to sit because my legs and feet hurt !!! most of all I am looking forward to riding on my hubbys harley with him and not looking stupid for being so big!! Oh the places we could travel....just the two of us.... cant wait!!! -
Random Things To Look Forward To...
Anniesmom12 replied to Beachbum's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband and step son have season passes to Carowinds..... I didnt get one because everytime I go with them I just have to wait on the park bench until they finish riding. My husband and I went (just the two of us) about a year or so ago when the new ride came out in honor of Dale Earnhart Sr, we got to the point of sitting down, but my hipps wouldnt fit in the seat! I couldnt ride with him...I was so ashamed there in front of him and all the others waiting to ride. Just a short way in to the ride they snap a photo, and we bought one and it now hangs on our living room wall.... It serves as a reminder to me everyday that I should have been in the empty seat next to my hubby...and I have set a goal to ride it with him next summer! Wow, when I think of all that this weight has stopped me from enjoying, I am filled with anger and bitterness at myself! -
Spouse Not Very Supportive
Anniesmom12 replied to Beachbum's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beachbum, I am afraid I may come against this same thing! My hubby is ok with it, but the closer I get the more he seems put off by my decision to do something positive for myself. It will affect his way of life (my hubby) because he too is overweight and it to the point of not being able to breathe right, has to wear the CPAP for sleep apnea and has all sorts of other medical conditions. I just found out this past week my 15 yo daughter is a borderline diabetic and if I dont get myself under control with this surgery I am afraid she'll be following in my footsteps of unhealthy behaviors. So in doing this for myself to be healthy, I am doing it for them as well! But I have told him many times and I mean it, he fell in love with me when I weighed 370lbs...I would NEVER leave him for any reason, much less because I lose weight! Just keep reassuring him, he'll be ok once he sees hes not losing you, just the unhealthy habits and extra weight you are carrying! -
I am in Boiling Springs too! What did you have to do before surgery at dr.scott's office?

How Are You Handling Clothes?
Anniesmom12 replied to Beachbum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beachbum I know what you mean. I too have 3 kids, but mine are 15, 14 and 2 1/2. (14yo and 2 1/2yo are step kids living with us) I am stuck at 355 and for the life of me I have tried everything!!! I so need this surgery...wish it was sooner than Aug! I do hope all goes well for you, keep me posted. Did you have csections with your kids? I am thinking that since I was over 300 when I had my csection with my daughter (15years ago!) that my pain will be no greater than that. I was up the day of my csection walking around, in the shower the next morning and home the 3rd morning.... so hoping this surgery goes as well! Wishing you all the best, I will be looking for good news from you about your progress!!! Here's hoping we both get to be healthy and thinner by the new year!! -
How Are You Handling Clothes?
Anniesmom12 replied to Beachbum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beachbum... FINALLY somone who is my size ( I do not mean that disrespectful or mean!).... I read all of these blogs and see where most have started at below 250.... I started at 368...now at 355 planning surgery for mid-August. I am trying to plan too... I have sizes from 18/20 to 28/30 ... I went through and gathered up all my winter clothes and put them aside to donate to Goodwill....but decided I'd hold on to them just a little longer, but my sweet hubby saw the bag and took them before I could change my mind! I am hoping the feet size shrinks as well, I have big feet and would love to shop at a regular shoe store for some nice work shoes for once! Keep me posted on your progress!! -
Dr. Ross did my sisters surgery as well! He's in the same practice with Dr. Johnson who I chose to do my surgery. Did your sister do well? My sister has lost 140 in a year and couple months. She is doing great!

I am sure they will tell you if you call! They are usually always nice when I call with questions. I had MANY when I was considering this path...and I called them and they werew very helpful as to what would be needed, required etc. I sure wish I could get mine completely finished in 5-6 weeks!! I'd be far to excited!!!

maybe you wont have to do anything but the EGD as well. I had to do 3 months of weight loss and thats all..... hoping to have my surgery mid to late August!

What's Your Goal Other Than Weight Loss
Anniesmom12 replied to innerelease's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is gonna sound nuts... but I wanna be able to attend sporting events, movies and school events and not worry if I'll fit in a seat! I want to do so much with my kids and husband but am so limited because of my size!! I get so anxious about going places, not knowing if i can fit or not! -
I have Tricare Reserve Select South Region..... I am just in my 2nd month of weight loss. I dont think they require a lot of stuff to be done. Do you have other health issues too?
-
excited for you!! Best of luck to you!
-
Hope all goes well! I will say a prayer for you tomorrow morning that your surgery is painless, recovery is quick and all your dreams come true!

Hello all, I have been reading post, but decided to join in. I am a 43 year old mom who had always been "big". My mom started me on a diet at the age of 10....and I was a ww member since I was 12. I have been a yo-yo for all my life, i'd lose 50lbs...gain 75. My first husband used to make me weigh in front of him everyday and post the weight on the board in our bathroom..... he would get very upset when I didnt lose! I got pregnant with my daughter and all of that changes....but with her i gained 75 lbs...15 yrs ago..but I have been divorced from him for 9 years! My current hubby is a little chubby, he's a good 100lb less than me though. My sister had bypass surgery in Feb 2011 and has lost about 145lbs. (she too has always been a big girl). So I decided to have the surgery too! I am currently planning surgery on Aug. 27,2012 if all goes well, it may be a few weeks early, not sure....but no later. I am done with always being tired, never being able to just go out and do things like others, sitting on the park bench while my family rides rollercoasters at Carowinds....missing out on movies or sporting events because I cant fit in the seats...and always having to use the handicap bathroom cause I dont have enough room in the regular stall! I am ready, to let go of this fat that has always held me back, to get healthy and trim and help my hubby and 15 year old daughter do the same. I wanna run in to Walmart and get a shirt and pair of pants, or a swimsuit....instead of being limited to the stores for plus sizes that cost so much you cant afford to get an entire outfit! I wanna buy panties and bras that match and are cute! So, I am on the journey to do just that. I am on my first month of weight loss (I've lost 10.5 lbs in a month, not much but I'm heading in the right direction!) and have 2 more to go.... got a psych eval tomorrow then EGD soon. This time I am ready, willing to go the distance to see this through and have a chance to see what it's like to love the gym, walking around the entire neighborhood without needing to stop several times to catch my breath, riding the rides at Carowinds and doing things normal people can do. Thank you to all of those who regularly post on this site, you are all an inspiration and I read every word and keep the advice for my own journey.
