I've been getting 500-600 caliories, around 60g Protein and I'm suppose to drink 64oz of Water but I have only been able to do that the last 2 days. I've been on liquid the last 2 weeks, today is my first day of purees and I had a hard time tracking calories hopefully I'll do better tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because I go back to work tomorrow (light duty) and I'm afraid it will be harder to stay on track.

I was sleeved on Feb 19th, the first week I lost 8lbs, this week I lost .8lbs I did have a 3 week pre-op diet so I knew a stall might come sooner than later. Thanks to this website I'm not stressing out to much about it, everyone on here says it's normal. I also haven't cheated on my post-op diet. I could up my Water but I get all my Protein in. I think we just have to keep trying, the weight loss will come.

I use the small white ramikens from surlatable, for measureing, I packed in Beans till about half full, used a mozzarella cheese stick, 2 tablespoons salsa, put in microwave, could eat 1/2, so save other half for lunch or dinner next day, without messing more dishes. I swear the hobbits took over my house, there is small dishes and spoons everywhere LOL

This is a wonderful post, thank you. I'm just starting with my sleeve (12/29/12) but I had a similar experience with my lap band. It took me 18 months to lose 70 lbs. It was hard for me to see others lose their weight so much faster, but 18 months isn't really so long in the grand scheme of things and for me it was safe and steady. I was the world's slowest runner but eventually was able to run in Bloomsday in Spokane WA, which is 12K (the largest foot race in the US). Then I had a baby, and my lap band broke. (Literally.)
Already I am doing better than I ever did with my lap band. But I expect, for many reasons, that I will still be a relatively slow loser, and I have to keep remembering that it is okay!
Thank you for this very encouraging topic.

Lately I've seen a TON of posts about lucky sleevers that drop 100 pounds in six months.
Congrats to them and to their loss. And I would never, ever begrudge anyone the right to crow about a fantastic success. It's part of why we're all here, to share the ups and downs of this surgery!
But frequently, these posts are followed by folks that feel frustrated because they aren't losing at the same pace. All too often, we forget that everyone loses at a different pace. It's easy to lose sight of the real goal (long term maintenance) in the face of the scale goals we set for ourselves. And it's also easy to forget that this isn't a race and that there's no special prize waiting at the end for reaching goal more quickly.
I would like to contribute my loss pattern so that people can see that there is more than one way to achieve a goal. Being successful is about reaching your personal goals, overcoming your personal food demons and maintaining your weight loss for life. It's not about hitting goal in nine months.
I encourage everyone else with a slow loss story to contribute their successes here as well. It's hard to research this surgery and find only the stories about extremes - people completely thrilled with surgery or people that regret every minute of life post op. The same goes for loss. When people search out stories on this, it's too easy to only find rapid loss or stall posts but nothing showing the more realistic and moderate journey many of us take. The sleeve is a permanent tool that does not have a special window of easy weight loss. There is no reason to feel discouraged when you haven't reached goal at one year out, or even two. There is nothing preventing you (short of your own body's natural stopping point) from achieving or re-achieving goal at any point post op.
I lost 60 pounds in the first five months after my surgery.
And I slowly lost 32 pounds over the next seven months.
It took me another five months to shed the final 15 pounds to my goal.
I lost 107 pounds over the course of 17 months. I stalled twice for nine weeks each time. I had months where I only lost one pound. I regularly experienced a gain of three pounds around my cycle, and often only lost weight in the last week to ten days of the month, after sitting at the same weight for nearly three weeks.
I am a success, and at 2.5 years out (and currently pregnant) I still have good, healthy eating habits and maintained my weight loss quite easily. Even 30 weeks pregnant, I am still wearing a size 6/small (in maternity clothes, of course) regardless of how I feel about my expanding body!
I learned what was important on this journey and am in better health today (not just physically, but mentally and emotionally), than I have ever experienced as an adult.
Good luck to those currently on their journey, and I encourage everyone to share their stories here so that newly sleeved folks can see that slow vs. fast loss doesn't really matter in the end.

Perhaps you should have your dr remeasure your height (slouch a bit and remove your shoes) 1 inch makes a substantial difference in BMi .

From what I gather she is buying two different protein drinks. One is a powder form with 27g of protein that needs to be mixed with a liquid of your choice. She chose to add 6oz of skim milk. The other protein is a pre-made ready to drink shake called premier.
The premier drink is premixed with 11oz of liquid and the powder form can be mixed with however much you desire.

I dont know about any of my fellow sleevers but even before I got my sleeve I had made plans to travel this year to places Ive always wanted to visit here in the US. One of my first trips planned is a trip up north to the Redwood National forest. I want to see all the natural beauty out here in California while I can and with my sleeve and the weight that I will be loosing its the perfect mix for me.
However I realize that I am single and most of my friends all live back east and not all can afford to travel with me this year or even beyond. Thats why I am starting this forum.....I think that it would be a cool idea for fellow sleevers to want to meet other sleevers and also have fun to link up on here... Its always fun to meet new friends and to maybe find a travel partner. Granted I think they should have like sleeve conventions or cruises so that a bunch of us can vacation together but until I find that I thought what the heck....If you plan to travel to a city where there are other sleevers then you can meet up and do something instead of feeling alone on your vacation.
I live in Newport Beach, California and if anyone visits I would be happy to show them around and have some fun with a fellow sleever or two!
Lets see how many people like this idea..maybe someone can help me refine this...Id love the advice/help!

Bwahahaha.. Social status has nothing to do with going to MX!?! You people talking as if you're too well off to even considering going to MX for surgery.. You crack me up!
You don't even know why you won't go.. Perhaps, because you're uneducated and naive?

I haven't lost much but I can tell in my face and ankles/calfs which is a little weird because I never had the bloating feet problem.

At least take your pain meds when you go to bed it will help you get some better sleep. And yes it will get better. I am 2 weeks out and just yesterday was finally able to get 64 oz of Water in. You will start feeling better soon. Just think about your future and how exciting it is going to be.

So this morning I weighed and was very happy to see that ol' familiar friend of mine again!!! Ohhhh how I have missed seeing that 1 instead of the 2 on my scale. It has been about 3 years or so since I have weighed anything under 200lbs.
Granted, I'm 6 days post op and in sure my weight will fluctuate when I start to eat again, but I'll basque in this victory while I can! Woo-Hoo!
