How fun. I hope the wedding turns out perfect for her. And sounds like you are starting a new chapter in you life, the kids are leaving and now you can have tons of fun for yourself.
-
Thanks. It has been a crazy few weeks but it has all been worth it.

Sounds like you are doing everything right. I was also sleeved a week ago and the last 2 days have been great but today I woke up nauseated so I'm glad to hear that maybe it's normal. Luckily I have nausaa meds so I'm feeling a little better. I'm trying to get more water in but I'm kinda just sick of drinking stuff all day. Anyway I hope things go well for you.

Woohoo....I lost 8lbs in the first week. Wishing everyone l good uck and a speedy recovery.

Post Op day 6, Protein, Water, Stomach pains?
Amie replied to newme31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thin out the protein drink. I thin mine out with skim milk or water. Mostly skim milk because it adds protein. I find it really helps. I think the water just takes time it was like one day it hurt going down and the next it didn't so the last 2 days I've enjoyed drinking water and have felt better, I think I was getting dehydrated. I was sleeved on Feb 19th Good luck I'm sure it will get easier. -
1 week out. Anyone still having gas pains and shortness of breath?
Amie replied to yvette626's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I still have a few gas pains but mostly I have back pain from laying around to much this last week. Everyone says to walk, walk, walk and that will get the gas out. I'm trying to get a walk in everyday but I've been lacking energy I had a rought time getting my water and protein in for the first few days so I think I'm a little dehydrated too. So now I've started writing it all down so I can get enough in and it seems to have helped. I hope your pain goes away soon so you can get on with enjoying your new life. -
Sorry to hear you are throwing up everytime. I was sleeved on Tuesday and I have a hard time with eating thicker stuff. It totally hurts going down. I don't know if that is the problem you are having but I figured out this morning that I just need to thin everthing out. I hope this helps.

I'm not quite running yet, was just sleeved on Tuesday. Just wanted to say I love your lego man picture.

Amie replied to kamsmom13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I could help. I was sleeved on Tuesday and haven't had a BM I don't really feel constipated but I feel I should have went by now. I'll be getting some metamusil today, hopefully that help. I would suggest doing the same good luck. -
Dial everywhere then Hibiclens on my stomach. The hibiclens is kinda weird.

I was told I couldn't shave 4 days before the surgery which sucked because I got married 2 days before my surgery and spent that night at a hot springs. But I didn't cave I didn't want anything to interfere with getting my surgery. I biggest fear came true though I was on my period durning surgery so I did wear hospital undies and they ended up not giving me a catheter so I guess I was lucky there. I would say if you are really worried about it get it waxed.

Yep still have some pain. Mostly in my back and the incision on my right side. Lots of gas still. Water doesn't go down well but I can get back Protein shakes down and yogurt. I can't wait until I'm all healed up. Good luck everyone.

I had my surgery on Tue. the 19th. Everything went well, went home around 7pm on wed. I'm having a lot of gas pain and am having issues with sleeping I can't get comfortable I'm trying to sleep on a reclining couch but the pressure from my stomach is killing my back. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was hoping the pain killers would just knock me out but that isn't happening either. I would live to get more then 4 hours of sleep tonight.

February 19th! Offically sleeved.
Amie replied to MyGoodThang's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved on the 19th. I haven't gotten my leak test done yet and I'm a little nervous to drink the blue stuff. I haven't gotten to drink anything yet so I hope it doesn't hurt so swallow it. I will can't believe I finely had the surgery, it's been over a year when I started this process. Good luck on your recovery. Keep up up to date on how holy are feeling. -
I'm on my 3rd week of my pre-opt diet and I can't stop cheating. The first week was a breeze the 2nd week was a little harder and I cheated a few times. This week I haven't been able to go a day without cheating. I lost 16lbs in the first 2 weeks but that doesn't seem to motivate me. My surgery is on Tues. the 19th so I know I need to stop eating. I'm suppose to only be having skim milk 3 times a day. The only thing I think might be the cause of hunger is that I started my period today, or maybe that's just an excuse. What do you all do to stay on track?

I can't stop cheating on my pre-opt diet. :(
Amie replied to Amie's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom. I didn't pretty good the last few days. Slipped up a little on Sunday but only because it was my wedding day. Tomorrow is the big day. I have to be up at 4am and checked in at 5:30. Wish me luck. -
Today is day 12 of my 3 week skim milk pre-opt diet and I meet with my surgeon on Monday for my pre-opt workup and I'm scared to death he is going to say I haven't lost enough. My surgery in on Feb. 19. I've cheated twice in these 12 days but just for one meal each time then I was right back on the wagon. I was just wondering how much everyone has lost and if anyone has ever been turned away because they didn't lose enough?
-
How much did you lose on your pre-opt diet and was it enough?
Amie replied to Amie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the diet is for the liver, I guess I'm just afraid the liver won't shrink enough. I know I'm just being paranoid. Just started this process a year ago and don't want anything to go wrong. Good job serendipityhappens your almost to your goal. Keep up the good work. Susansoon-Where are you getting your surgery done. I'm in Vancouver, Wa with Dr. Dally. -
I just had my first glass of skim milk for my 3 week diet. I'm worried I won't be able to stay on it, and very jealous of everyone else on this board who doesn't have this strict of a pre-opt diet. I'm scheduled and approved for Feb. 19 I hope I can do this I'm so excited for this life change. Has anyone had to do the milk diet and what helped you get through it?

I've been obsessed with Oikos Key Lime Pie. I've tried a lot of them. And for some reason that's the one for me.
-
I've been trying to get motivated to go workout but I'm on day 3 of my 3 week skim milk pre-op diet and I'm just really tired and I'm affraid I'm not taking in enough calories to keep me going if I go workout. I was just wondering if anyone else has this same problem.
