    Popsicles ?!

I didn't go for like 10 days. It sucked so I feel your pain.
  2. I've used it for years so I went and bought some that melt in my mouth. I've used them for the last 3 nights and it has helped me fall asleep but I'm up and down all night. I even tried nyquil last night didn't help much. I think my body is on strike. lol It wakes up because it wants food. I'm not saying I feel hungry when I wake up, I just think my body is used to eating every few hours and can't make it through the night. This is the only thing I can come up with for this insomnia.
  3. Having a rough time sleeping at night, and I'm not a napper so I'm feeling a little worn out. Any suggestions?? I just wish for 1 good nights sleep.

    "Head Hunger"

I started putting PB2 in my chocolate shakes at day 11ish, I didn't ask if I could I just did it. Seemed to go down just fine. I put 2 tablespoons in 6-8 oz shakes. I think we all go through this stage of breaking up with food, I'm pretty sure it passes, I'm only 3 weeks out so it hits me pretty hard a few times a week. But I'm so ready to get this weight off, so much so I just had 80% of my stomach removed to achieve this goal. So I better get over wanting to eat like I used to.
  5. So I went to look into taking Karate classes yesterday and they told me I could come in today for a free class to see if I like it. I'm a little worried that I'm not healed enough and should wait a week or 2. The class is 1 1/2 hours long. I sometimes having achy ab mussels when I go for walks or do the elliptical. My surgeon hasn't given me any restrictions, he leaves it up to me to decide when I'm ready to exercise and go back to work because I have a physical job. I have a hard time making myself walk for exercise it's to boring. My wife thinks I should go and do what I can, but I don't think I would be able to bail out halfway through. My chiropractor told me not to do it that I should focus on healing. I really want to go and feel like a quitter if I don't go but also know I can always go in a week or two. I would love to get some opinions on what you all think.
  6. Decided not to go. I'll see how I feel next week. Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

    Scared to death!

I had only lost 8.5lbs in the first 2 weeks so don't get discouraged. My doc has me on 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks pureed, 2 weeks soft. I'm 3 weeks out and don't even want to try chicken yet, I've had it once pureed and it didn't go down well. Just keep going through the motions you will lose. Pretty sure you can't stretch your stomach out that soon. Good luck.
  8. I was feeling the same way. Lost 8lbs the first week, .5lbs the second week and I just weighed in this morning for week 3 and the scale finally moved I've lost another 4.5lbs. Yay!! Just keep doing what you are doing, I think it is our body just adjusting. Don't get discouraged. You can do this!!
  9. Yay!!! The first day of your new life.

    Sleep

Good to know. Maybe I should try eating something. I've in awake for and hour and a half, been up since 1am. ugh
  11. I'm at almost 3 weeks and have only lost 10lbs, 8lbs in week 1, .5lbs in week 2 and looks like it might be 1.5lbs in week 3 but I don't weight in until Tuesday, I think our bodies are still adjusting to the newness. I hope it gets better for you. I guess my only advice would be is to try and get a few workouts in. I'm having a hard time with that one as well.

    was I even sleeved?

You read my mind. I started pureed 2 days ago and was very nervous that it would hurt or that I wouldn't be able to eat much. Man was I wrong everything I've tried so far goes down great and I've also felt really hungry for the last 2 days. I don't think it is head hunger but I am trying to be aware of that to figure out if that is what it is. I do have a hard time getting enough water in, not because I can't drink enough, I'm just never thirsty and have a hard time making myself drink. I figure we need to keep measuring and tracking and the weight should come of soon. You can do this.
  15. When I went to my 10 day post op appointment my doc said I have to wait 2 more weeks. I can't wait to get in the water.

    Pureed stage

I just started my pureed food yesterday I made the Baked Ricotta last night and it was yummy I haven't tried these other ones yet but they looked good to me. Baked Ricotta 8 oz of Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 Large Egg 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasoning together and place in a oven proof dish. ( I used a cupcake pan) Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake in the oven @450 for 20-25 mins or nuke it until hot and bubbly. Parmesan Garlic Cauliflower (tastes a lot like mashed potatoes, but very low carb!) 1 bag of frozen cauliflower florets 1 tsp butter/margarine 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese 1/4 cup of milk Egg salad - couple eggs, 1 tsp of mayo, 1/2 tsp of spicy brown mustard, salt & pepper - puree until smooth Buffalo chicken - can of chicken, 1 tbsp blue cheese crumbles, 2 tbsp ranch dressing, 1 tsp. of buffalo sauce, salt & pepper - puree until smooth - MY PERSONAL FAVORITE! Pintos and cheese - 1 can of Pintos with onion - puree until smooth, pour into dish and cover with 2 tbsp. of shredded cheddar cheese - microwave for 90 seconds or until heated through and bubbly - stir well to combine the cheese - optional: add a bit of enchilada sauce if you are looking for more flavor. Pulled pork with barbecue sauce and Greek yogurt
  17. Sounds like a big pain I hope you don't give up. If this is what you think you will need then keep trying and make it happen. If I was in your position I would start saving and research Mexico. There are a ton of good doctors there and most people have great experiences there. Sorry you are getting so frustrated.
  18. I was sleeved on 2/19 I've only lost 8.4lbs only .5lbs last week it sucks but I did have a 3 week pre-op diet and over all have lost 25lbs. Thanks to VST I'm not to stressed about it, it sounds like everyone has stalls and they all get through them. I'm just hoping the scale moves sooner then later. Just stay on your diet and it should come off.
  19. I gained 7lbs during surgery. You will lose don't worry.
  20. First day on puree food. I think I'll try the refried beans tomorrow. BTW I think I just drooled a little reading the word tacos......oh how I miss them. I totally get the taco addiction.

    3 weeks po stall

I've been getting 500-600 caliories, around 60g protein and I'm suppose to drink 64oz of water but I have only been able to do that the last 2 days. I've been on liquid the last 2 weeks, today is my first day of purees and I had a hard time tracking calories hopefully I'll do better tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because I go back to work tomorrow (light duty) and I'm afraid it will be harder to stay on track.

    3 weeks po stall

I was sleeved on Feb 19th, the first week I lost 8lbs, this week I lost .8lbs I did have a 3 week pre-op diet so I knew a stall might come sooner than later. Thanks to this website I'm not stressing out to much about it, everyone on here says it's normal. I also haven't cheated on my post-op diet. I could up my water but I get all my protein in. I think we just have to keep trying, the weight loss will come.
