I haven't posted in awhile... but here goes Seems like only yesterday I was on my pre op diet getting nervous about surgery. My band anniversary date is fast approaching (June 5th). I've lost 71lbs, which is great. Although, sometimes I feel as if I would have done some things differently along the way which in turn could have lead to greater success by my band anniversary. My starting weight was 408 and I currently weigh 337... My surgeon had set a 1 yr band goal of 287lbs which with a little more than a month to go is impossible. With that being said, I still want to try like hell to get closer to it. Any advice on a jump/kick start or words or encouragement are always welcomed.

For my preop diet I could have as many protein shakes as I wanted, & I did. They helped in curving my appetite -

I started my LapBand journey June 5, 2013. Almost 15 months later & I've lost 78lbs. It's a success, but I had hoped that I would have lost more by now. I recently started a workout routine & I hope to lose another 32lbs by the end of the year. My starting weight was 408lbs, I'm currently at 332lbs. My before and during pictures are attached. Any tips or tidbits to accelerate my weight loss would be appreciated

Fear Of Losing Weight And Denial
ready4animprovedme replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Love this post, i too feel similar to you ladies... i keep telling myself "lose the weight and you'll find someone who loves you completely and find a better job and finish school out with a bang"... ect ect. I know exactly how you feel lady -
I was banded 6/5/12 and i remember the preop diet as if it were yesterday. It's tough, but once you make it through you'll look back and think "that wasn't that bad". You're going to get headaches and you're going to feel tired and sluggish. Sometimes I think the only thing that kept me going was the protein shakes, I could have as many of those as I wanted but most days even drinking two was a struggle. On the go I would grab a muscle milk protein drink from a gas station (they tastes pretty good). Good luck to you, seems as if you're in the right frame of mind! Best wishes

ready4animprovedme replied to sman342's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello! I was banded 6/5 I too have lost 23lbs. I got my first fill 7/16 of 5ccs and I don't feel much restriction yet. I did eat a triscut, it got stuck, and then I actually felt it move through the band shortly after. Hope everyone is doing well. -
