Im An Idiot And Ate Mushies Too Soon

I am feeling this same type of concern. I was 1 week post op on Tuesday and I have cheated and had some mushies earlier than I should. I too felt starved. But I also have that constant worry in the back of my mind that I could mess something up, which is the last thing I want to do. I too think I'm going to return back to liquids as instructed.

Anybody Out There That Started 400+

Why the 3 port revisions? Sorry to hear about your complications, I hope that this isn't something that is normal. Ahh, being where I am now and looking at 280 is awesome.Maybe you have forgotten how far you have come? Granted, there's nothing wrong to have goals. My ULTIMATE goal is to reach 200, all in due time

Anybody Out There That Started 400+

I was just banded on 6/5/12 and when I started I weighed 408... in just 10 days I lost 18lbs but have yet to weigh myself since surgery. I'm looking forward to losing 100 to 150lbs + even with knowing that I'll be where some people start. Which when looking at it as a whole is insane but when looking at it from a personal perspective, it's fantastic.

Banded June 5Th And Finally Feeling Good!

I too was banded on June 5th. I'm feeling pretty good. Although, last night I started to feel a lot of pain near my port but I think that's because I bent down the wrong way or something. I haven't really been out of the house yet, just been kinda taking it easy but I plan on venturing out tomorrow. As far as food goes, my diet is a little different than yours. I've been on a liquid diet since surgery and I'll be on a liquid diet until it's been 2 weeks after surgery. Then I can finally move to mushies. But I'm living off cream of broccoli soup and sugar free Popsicles. I think I may get some cream of wheat to try. I have yet to sleep on my stomach yet but I'm more of a side sleeper and I've been doing that just fine. I was on a liquid diet 10 days before surgery and lost 18lbs, I have yet to weigh myself since surgery but I'm eager to see what else I've lost. Good luck in the rest of your journey!

To Those Of You Considering Surgery

I agree 1000%. I was banded 6/5 and I feel pretty great thus far, lost 20lbs before surgery and looking forward to see how much more I'm going to lose during the after surgery liquid diet.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

It is a tube that goes into my stomach with a medicine ball attached in a bag that I carry around. Just until tomorrow. My surgeon does this with all his patients to help with muscle contraction and pain.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

I gotta say that I had hardly any gas pain. Coming out of the anesthesia took me a little bit of time and most of my pain is around the port area. I stay in the hospital over night and I have been home since around noon yesterday. Last night I was so scared I was going to throw up, not sure what hit me all of a sudden but took some phenegran and all has been well. Working on my first protein drink as we speak, hoping to feel the fullness. Before surgery I got weighed and had lost 18lbs in just 10 days. Can't wait to continue to lose this weight. Good luck to everyone else. Tomorrow I can finally take out this On-Q pump!

Today Is The Day Of Rebirth

Thanks for all of your kind words all! I went home from the hospital around noon yesterday and I feel ok. Soreness of course and I sort of feel like I have some heaviness on my chest but I believe that's because I am somewhat congested. Other than that I'm staying on top of taking my phenergan and ibuprofen because I started to feel like I would throw up yesterday and I'm so scared to throw up. Feels good to finally be on the other side, now I'm just trying to be patient in feeling well as well as feeling somewhat normal.
  16. In about 3 hours I will be going in for surgery! I'm excited and ever so ready to get this new chapter in my life started, this improved me started. I'm also pretty nervous as I've never had a surgery, aside from a tonsilectomy. I want it more than I fear it though... so here goes

    Tattoo before and afters

I too was wondering about this. I have several tattoos and quite a bit of weight to lose. Hoping they don't look like crap afterwards!

    I Can't Decide

Go for it! I've read so many success stories on it and it gave me confidence in where my life could be. I am scheduled to have the lapband on 6/5 and honestly for the first time in my life I'm confident that this will work, I'm confident that a healthy life is ahead of me, and I'm confident that my future will be brighter because of this surgery. I'm scared don't get me wrong, because surgery is scary period but I also know that it's aa surgery that isn't as uncommon as it once was and I have every faith in the fact that it will be worth it!

    Still Struggling With Body Image

I have yet to get banded but I know your feeling all too well. I hit the scale at just over 400lbs and one minute I think I look good and then I'll stand sideways or get one of those lovely stares from a stranger and it's all down hill from there. You need to remember where you came from and where you're at, as well as where you're headed! Talk yourself up and BELIEVE it! As far as your boyfriend, maybe talk with him? I too had issues of where I felt like my partner wasn't wanting sex because of the way I looked... and honestly, for me, hearing that I'm beautiful and attractive to my partner makes me feel better. At the end of the day you just got to believe that you are beautiful!
