Congratulations! Everything you're feeling is normal, you'll do just great
  4. If you have to repeat over and over that you're not being nasty chances are you're being nasty. There's a difference in being blunt and being nasty. But hey, who am I :-)

    Officially Banded!

    Congratulations!
  6. No problem! That's what we are ALL here for, to share experiences, not judge *cough coughhh
  7. Well ME personally I was banded 6/5 and last weekend I went out and got drunk. Am I going to turn in to an alcoholic to replace my food addiction? Hell no. Do I drink often? Nope. You are given directions/instructions and you choose whether or not to follow those. I chose not to for an evening. I'm 23 yrs old and to never drink again even sounds ludicrous. Would I have had a drink 2 weeks after surgery? Probably not. But to each their own.

    When Did They Notice?

I was banded 6/5 and have lost 25 (post op included) and I've had several people tell me that they can tell that I've lost weight. Maybe Its just shifting or maybe they're just being nice lol, I personally do not see it yet. All in due time I suppose.

    First Fill 5Cc!

I had my first fill yesterday. I was told not to eat anything 4 hours prior. There was a tiny bit of pain but nothing awful. 5ccs for now and I meet again with my surgeon in September.

First Fill... Wasn't Bad At All

I had my first fill yesterday. I was banded on 6/5 and yesterday my doctor added 5cc's to my 11cc band. I'm excited to start feeling some more restriction. Surely the 5cc's will help? My next fill isn't until September, until then I plan to start working out! Ready to get the scale moving lower and lower. The fill itself didn't hurt, some discomfort but I will say that my doctor is awesome, pricked me once, did what he needed to do and I was outta there.

First Fill... Wasn't Bad At All

My doc actually just had me lay down and sit up like I was doing a crunch and then he felt for it. Liquids for two days for me, I was kinda sad about that when he first told me but I had some soup yesterday and it wasn't too bad. Today I'm going to have some Greek yogurt.

Who Needs To Lose 100 Lbs Or More?

I am 5'3 with a bmi of 69... starting weight before surgery was 408... I lost 18lbs before surgery and on day of surgery (6/5/12) I weighed 390... I have yet to weigh myself again but I have every confident in the fact that I will lose 100+lbs. I'm sure I'll have struggles but if you want it bad enough (and I do) it's possible.

    In The Newspaper This Morning

I believe this could be true. My half brother had gastric bypass several years ago and became an alcoholic. He's clean now, but he definitely had several years of struggle. Doesn't help too that our father is an alcoholic.

How Long Did Your Port Hurt?

I actually just experienced that pulling feeling when getting up from laying on my stomach. Thought it felt weird.

    Yayayayaya Got My Date!!!

It varies depending on your insurance company and whether or not you have all your ducks in a row. My information was submitted to the insurance company on 4/24/12 and I got a call from my insurance company with the approval on 4/27/12! Ps: congratulations on your date! Such an awesome feeling
  19. I am two weeks post op and I feel like I can eat more than I should be able to? Quantity wise. I read on here that someone else who is 2 weeks post opt ate half of a hard boiled egg and was full? for dinner the other night I had 5 hard boiled eggs?... to fill me up. For dinner. Is there something wrong with me? My band is empty and I will not have a fill until July 16th... I just don't want to start out on the wrong foot. I am making pretty good choices in the types of food I eat and I'm pretty much sticking to my doctors orders as far as what foods I can eat. I know I'm not getting the 64oz of water I need, so that could be the issue? I'm trying and I constantly have a bottle of water on my desk or near me wherever I may be but I've never been much of a drinker. Just wanted to clarify and see if I was on a slippery slope towards screwing something up or if I'm kind of headed in the right direction. :/

Is This Normal?... Or Am I A Total Fatty

I was able to have mushie foods starting week 3 and week four. My doctor considers eggs to be mushie. I was lacking in protein for the day...kind of forgot about the fat and cholesterol. Thanks for your input!

What Are You Looking Forward To?

There are sooo many things I'm looking forward to but here are a few that come to mind. *fitting in my car better, without being right up on the steering wheel. *wearing high heels *not getting out of breath so easily. *being stared at cause I'm hot not cause I'm fat. *being able to fit in to a booth without having to move the table. *the ability to walk longer distances without feeling pain in my legs. *having sex without thoughts of insecurities *smaller sizes in clothes *eventually participate in a 5k/marathon I think that'll do for now :-)
