My surgery is scheduled for one week from tomorrow. I am really struggling with the preop diet and haven't been totally faithful to it. If I can't do that, that doesn't bode very well for me post surgery. Feeling totally discouraged and like I am just wasting everyone's time and my money. Feel like a loser .... And not the good kind.

Not Sure I Can Do This
bogeydog replied to bogeydog's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks to everyone for all the support -- I really need it right now. I just can't understand why I am so weak in this area -- in everything else I do I am no nonsense, get 'er done. In my professional life people would be stunned to learn how weak I really am. I can't tell you how much it means all of you to be so supportive. I don't know what I would do without it. -
Got Some Premier Protein Shakes
bogeydog replied to jaymzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pdxman-- have you tried the high protein cookies by premiere? I am wondering if they are worth a try. -
The best ones I've found are the premiere from Costco or sam's club-- 30 g of protein and 1 g of sugar per shake.

Kmoore -- I like your screen name , but if you wanted to change it, I vote for mooreisless -
My BMI is 37 and I am doing a 14 days liquid only. I think it is totally dependent on your doctor.

Thanks to everyone for all of the thoughts and input. I have done everything I can to mentally prepare.... I am assuming that everyone that has had this surgery has failed at multiple diets -- who in the world would turn to such a drastic measure without trying really hard at changing how they eat, and failing? From what I can tell, most people have a lot of success with this, so my thought process is that a large number of people who haven't been able to food restrict in the past are able to with the surgery. I know the sleeve is a tool, but it seems like it must be a pretty powerful one. I know I am over thinking this, but like everyone I have a lot of expectations and worries. Like .". If I am strong enough to do the preop liquid diet, why couldn't I just do that until I lost the weight and then I wouldn't have to have the surgery." I am rambling .... Sorry. But as it gets closer, the more this kind of stuff goes through my head.

I would love some input on this particular worry -- will I be able to follow the restrictions -- I mean I have never been able to follow a diet in the past. What will make this different?

Egd Tomorrow Morming
bogeydog replied to Looking Ahead's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is a 1.50 ffor a huge bag. Also, zaxby's has the same ice and if you bring your own cooler/bag, they will fill for free (although I never feel right about doing that without buying something) -
Thanks for the update! I have been so worried. Frankly, I was worried that someone had stolen your phone and you were sitting in some hospital with no ability to communicate with anyone. Glad to hear you are ok-- sick but still hanging in there. Praying for your full recovery.

New Pre-Op Transfer Addiction?
bogeydog replied to bogeydog's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know, right? Thanks to her, I am actually looking forward to my new way of eating instead of dreading it. Her protein shales are amazing -- and like 50 different varieties. I love all of her ideas -- I too am making a little book of recipes of all my favs for my kitchen. I wish she would write a book -- I would definitely buy. -

No -- if you click his picture his name is jhayze now

Whoever was online changed his user name. Am I the only one confused at this point???
-
Even if we knew the name of the hospital it won't help -- stupid HIPPA. They won't even tell his family without permission.
-
Ok -- I know this is crazy but I have been worried sick about you for the last 3 days -- the last update was that your cat scan didn't look good. Please let this be about your phone dying. If not, please let us know you are ok.

Wow you look amazing!
