    A Little Discouraged...suggestions?

Tell me, what is the significance of eating a spoon of peanut butter? Also, what protein/brand do you recommend?

    A Little Discouraged...suggestions?

Though I'm not calorie-counting as of right now, I'd say I'm hitting that 1200 cal/day limit.
  4. Hi all. I was banded on 4/24 of this year. As part of a pre-op, I was on a monitored diet from May of 2011, and since then, I've lost 95 pounds, and am very grateful for that. But, now I've hit a snag. It seems my weight has all but stopped dropping. I've been plateaued for about 2-3 months, now. My job requires quite a bit of walking around. On average, I walk about 6 miles within my 8 hour shift, and that's 5 days a week. I used to walk a river trail behind my house 3 miles a day in around 50 minutes (avg. 3.2-3.3 mph walking--pretty brisk), but I've stopped as of recent because I wasn't seeing any results. My band has been filled to 7CC of 14CC max capacity as of this past Wednesday. I eat pretty good throughout the day; scrambled eggs and a sausage link for Breakfast, usually drink liquids during lunch time, something small when I get home, like a tuna sandwich, then something protein-rich, like homemade chicken stirfry or something similar. Weight still doesn't budge. Is there something I'm doing wrong, here? Maybe I need to walk more? Maybe more calories? Protein shake? Honestly, I think the walking at work has severely undercut my caloric intake, and my body is holding onto everything I eat. I'm more concerned about losing weight than building muscle, so I'd like to stick something cardio instead of weight-lifiting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. I can barely tolerate a sandwich. Even after removing the crust of the bread on a wheat sandwich, I was stuck, and the worst stuck I've been in thus far. It was not fun. I can only blame myself for chewing too fast, as I had half a biscuit and some scrambled eggs earlier in the day with no problem. I was able to finish the sandwich by chewing super small amounts, and chewing a lot.

    Why are YOU Fat?

I've been big virtually all my life. I started gaining massive weight when I was 7 years old, even though I was active in my local Boys and Girls club playing soccer and basketball. I never dropped the weight. I was so big during elementary school, I couldn't fit into a size 52 pants, and my elementary school days (specifically grades 3-6) I had to wear sweat pants and sweat shirts, that how overweight I was. As I grew up, though, through middle school and high school, I was able to fit into pants and t-shirts, though I never wore smaller than a 42 waist. Post-high school, I managed to lose about 30 pounds during summer by walking 6 miles round trip to my local mall and play Dance Dance Revolution all day. After a while, I moved closer to the mall (litterally 2 blocks away), so I stopped walking, and then I got a car, and virtually stopped walking and playing Dance Dance Revolution altogether. I didn't watch what I ate, and that was a tri-fecta of weight gain. I went from 250 to 380 pounds in a little over a year. I was wholly disgusted with myself, but never did anything active about it, until I started the process for the Lapband procedure.

    Pureed Beans Ok?

I had refried beans the first couple of days I was able to eat pureed foods with no problems, but I'm currently sticking to scrambled eggs with tuna topped with melted cheese.

Post Op Day 5 No Appetite

I noticed the gas pain was virtually gone around 9-10 days post-op.

Post Op Day 5 No Appetite

Yeah, you'll feel that way, as far as no appetite. I didn't start really having an appetite till about a week after the procedure. I mainly stuck to drinking Propel Zero water (for some flavor) as I was concentrating on getting over the gas pain. If no one has mentioned, buy some Gas-X strips. I didn't discover the power of these strips until I was just about over the gas pains, lol. You won't regain most of your mobility (as far as stretching or moving around) until around 10 or so days after the procedure. Of course, these are ballpark figures, as recovery varies from person to person. Just try to take it easy, and do a little bit of walking around to help dissipate the gas.
  11. I was banded on 4/24, and I'm in the mushies stage of post-op diet. Today, I had 2 scrambled eggs with 1/2 can of tuna for breakfast at 9AM this morning, and I was full virtually all day. I had 3 scrambled eggs and the other 1/2 can of tuna for dinner at 7PM, and I'm done for the day.
  12. I've plenty of big friends that say I'll be shrinking, while they remain fat. It's almost like they're trying to put on a guilt trip. Some of my friends that are like that work in the same environment, and thus, are covered by the same insurance I went through to receive the procedure, but don't want to make the effect to get the process started.
  13. My surgeon told me he won't fill me until 6 weeks post-op. I have an appointment 3 weeks post-op to see how the healing is, but that's it.
  14. Same here. I've already lost 8 pounds since the procedure. =D
