Well right at 2 weeks post-op my shoulder stopped hurting. It still hurts a little here and there but NOTHING like it was!!!! So happy!!! I just walked and walked and I think that really helped. Maybe it was gas. Who knows. What an adventure we are all on huh?!?

I was hoping that too. Some people have much less trouble than I did so cross your fingers! I did it on a Thursday and went back to work Wednesday and was miserable. Then had to take Thursday off then worked Friday and Monday and took Tuesday off again. It was rough! But that's just me. I have a job that takes a LOT of emotional strength - with clients all day long. So that made it harder than maybe for others.

Yes. Gas. I had a killer pain in my left shoulder for two weeks. I was so scared it would never go away and then finally yesterday- its gone!! They told me it was gas and some say it's a nerve that the band is hitting that's connected to my shoulder. I dont know! But that was my worst part.

I'm worried about all that too. But the bottom line was that I've tried for 30 years to lose weight on my own ( since I was 10) an it hasn't worked. I needed something drastic- the safest drastic thing. So that's what I did. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago today. Whatever I have to do to stay healthy now I will do it. Because I'm tired of being miserable. So no more fruit. So be it. Whatever. But I haven't had anyone tell me no fruit or veggies. That's prob the hardest thing about all this- sorting out the conflicting info.

Yeah I was just terrified it wasn't going to get better and "what did I do to myself" etc etc. but it WILL get better!!! I'm dancing through the isles now!

Walk walk walk walk!!!! That's the best. I wore out a path in my house I think! Lol. I can't take gas x bc it has sucralose( Splenda) in it so I found other brands but not sure it really did much. Walking and small sips of water and a heating pad when I wasn't walking. I just started feeling better yesterday and today Is my 2 week bandaversary. two weeks seems to be the norm for feeling alive again.

The nurse just told me its a trapped air bubble. I just don't buy that.

Hi DFW friends! I'm 11 days post op and the gas had mostly subsided. Walking walking walking is the best for it. Right now I have horrible left shoulder pain. I'm so afraid it's never going to stop!

Hi DFW friends! I'm 11 days post op now and the gas pains are pretty much gone. I just have a horrible pain in my left shoulder. I've read others have had this and am just scared its not going to ever go away. Walking walking walking was the best for the gas. There's really nothing that helps the shoulder pain.

Pre Op, So Depressed
monica71 replied to Heathermarie0407's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. And prepare yourself for post op emotions as well. You will be feeling what you feel now and also be in pain. I'm still in quite a bit of pain 11 days post op. I'm optimistic it will end soon!! I just keep my eyes on the prize!!! -

Hi! I have had my band for 8 days and live in the mid-cities area! The gas pains are about to kill me but I'm optimistic!! Lol

I'm 8 days banded and the pains from the gas are still killing me. Heating pad and walking are the only things that seem to help at all. Been sleeping in a recliner and last night was the first night I could sleep in my bed. It was heavenly! So I guess it's getting better. Can't wait for this air to get out of me!!!
