  1. I was still hungry after my first fill. I called the doctors office after the first week and went back in and had a touch up fill where he just added a little more fluid. I've been ok since then.

    Have You Ever Experienced This?!!

I get that pain all the time and I don't have a gallbladder. It's just gas. I get it a lot when I eat cabbage, squash or kale. Sometimes the pain last for 3 days.
  3. Hello everyone!!! I am so excited that I found this site. As I feel this will give me the additional support that I need. I am 8 days post op and just started in the mushy foods stage yesterday. For breakfast I ate scrambled eggs but could not get the entire serving down. Ate tuna for lunch with no problem, but dinner was a totally different story. I put some canned chicken, carrots, and string beans in the crock pot since I figured it would help to soften the meal, but when I ate dinner, the chicken got stuck. Worse feeling ever now I am afraid to eat anything. Any suggestions of anything else I can eat that is high protein with less sugar. After the episode last night, I went out and got some low fat yogurt and some cottage cheese with the fruit spread but they are high in sugar. What would be the amount of sugar we can take in daily. Just want to stay on track and not get stuck on eating slider foods.
  4. Thanks and yes your doctor may have been scaring you as my doctor and nutritionist said 4ozs but that does not necessary means you have to eat that much. I also have a ton of reading material that suggest the same. Good luck on your journey.

I think I'll try the fish since I have a ton of Talapia in the freezer. How did you get the meat unstuck.
  6. The Local YMCA is ok but you would need a couple sessions with a personal trainer there where they can place you on an exercise program. I am not sure if they will accept Zumba
  7. Hi, I have Aetna and I did the 3 month accelerated weight management program Aetna accepts for the surgery approval. I did have to provide proof of my exercise program to their office as it was a requirement of the program in an effort to get fast surgery approval. I used victory lady fitness personal trainers and tracked each time I went in and provided a copy of my fitness card signed by the trainer to show proof of supervised exercise program. That in turn is how the doctor and nutritionist write the letter of recommendation to the surgeon in order to get you approved.

I mashed the meat and chewed forever and it still got stuck. I'm not a big meat eater so I may continue to get my Protein through the Protein shakes and unflavored Protein powder in my veggies, etc.

Wow!!! 20!lbs. That's great weight loss for a week. I've only lost 7.5 lbs since my surgery date. Hoping to lose a lot after I get my first fill.

    Updates On The 4/23 Bandsters

Great Job Gale! I wish you much success in your weight loss journey. I was banded on 4/25 and was just able to start mushy foods yesterday. You are absolutely correct in saying there are little choices for eating mushy/puréed foods. I did well with eating the canned tuna with fat free mayo but the scrambled eggs and canned chicken did not work for me as the chicken got stuck and I could not stomach the eggs. So I went out and bought some low fat Danton yogurt and the cottage cheese cups with the fruit toppings hoping I can get those down. And a frien of mines who had the gastric bypass surgery 10 yrs ago said she lived on Taco Bells pintos and cheese during her first six weeks along with Protein shakes as she could not keep anything else down. Do you have any other suggestions for mushy foods?
