Hello I am 31 weeks and have gained about 22 pounds. Today at the doctors, I asked how I am doing with my weight gain. The doctor (first time I am seeing this one from the medical group) said that she would tell someone with my starting weight of 240 to have gained 0 pounds throughout the entire pregnancy. I was shocked. All of the other doctors that I have seen so far, including one who has the verticals sleeve gastrecromy herself, never said that. The doctor then proceeded to give me advice on what to eat. Stay away from all dairy- milk, cheese. Stay away from all oil. Only get Protein through fish. I said I don't eat fish. Then she said I don't need to eat meat to get protein, and to stick to Beans and tofu. I get maybe I've gained more than I should, and I atill have 9 weeks to go, but is she accurate? Should I have gained nothing? Why would this doctor tell me something completely different? I have gotten very relaxed with what I've been eating... Falling back into my old patterns pre surgery so I have to fix that, but I still don't eat huge amounts... Although with my pregnancy my appetite has increased Suggestions?

17 weeks pregnant. 1 year 2 months post op I had a 20 ounce of diet orange soda today. Just really wanted the bubbles for some reason. Did not make me sick. Did not make me uncomfortable. I know we are not supposed to have carbonation and I'm scared I am goin down a bad road, but I just really want the damn soda... Suggestions? Anyone else have anything similar?

Hello I am about 1.5 years post surgery and I'm four months pregnant. Either I'm very constipated to where I take a laxative (okd by my obgyn) or I have very liquidy bowel movements for a few days... Anyone else experience this? I'm worried about the baby not gettin enough nutrients, etc Also, since I've become pregnant I've only gained like 2 pounds. Is that normal for someone who has had surgery to gain so little four months along? Btw, I started at 375 and I lost for six months got down to 240 now since pregnant I'm 242.5

So I'm 9.5 months post op from vsg. For the past few weeks I get heartburn (like 2-3 days a week). It's not horrible just uncomfortable. Although this morning I got it and it was pretty bad, but it seems to be gone for now. Yesterday I had two slices of pizza... Maybe the sauce? I am still on Prilosec. Suggestions? Ideas?

kmbrlycool replied to Snow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey. I had my gallbladder out I think about 4 months post op. no problems or complications after having it out. And no pain once it was gone! I'm sorry things aren't going well with your husband but I think you will do fine with getting your gallbladder out. Good luck -
Thank you. I will go through mg cabinet and buy a lock.

Thank you for that. I just need to cut the crap.

I think I will really look into therapy. I just got insurance through my employer and will check it out!

I know I've asked before... I need help. I need a kick in the ass. I got sleeved 4-24-12 starting weight 375. Today 1-4-13 I weigh 244. I know I know. That's a fabulous weight loss. But I'm simply not happy. I haven't lost weight in about 2.5 months... And I know why... I'm falling back into my old patterns. I'm eating things that I shouldn't and I know it. I'll eat a piece of candy and ill say to myself... It's just one piece. Then it turns into 2-3-4 Etc. and the thing that really sucks is that my stomach handles it all just fine... No nausea, no stomach ache, no sliming, nothing. How do I get my ass in shape? How do I resist the temptations of bread. Of candy. Of chocolate. Of chips and dip and Cookies. I just can't stop It's getting so bad I just had a conversation with my husband pleading with him to not let me eat this crap. And I told him if I catch an attitude with him when I go to eat this I'm sorry and it's only because I have an addition. I truly feel like I'm addicted to food. I feel like its what I think about from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. And I can easily wake up in the middle of the night and go eat. I picked cookies out of the garbage a few nights ago. That's embarrassing and ridiculous. And gross. I got this surgery to have a different better life. Not to lose the weight and stop here or to gain it back. I'm 27. I want to get pregnant. I know nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, but a Hershey's kiss tastes damn good What do I do? How do I fix this? I was doing so well and then I started making a small exception here and there. I saw a mini candy bar didn't make me sick, so I ate more. A small bag of Doritos had no effect. When I get hungry, I feel like I must have it now! When I went in the grocery store tonight I was shopping for dinner, but I was also thinking about what I could eat on the 4 minute ride home. It's just that pathetic. I wound up only buying good stuff and had a cheese stick on the way home. But I attempted to make a hamburger for dinner (93% lean) and had a side of potatoes. Stupid decision on the potatoes and wound up burning the damn hamburger to a crisp so all I ate was the potatoes... So stupid. And then I saw a box of candy on the licing room floor and even though I was stuffed from the potatoes, I just had to have the candy. I have since thrown away the box of candy, and a bag of chips (that I convinced myself were healthy because they were veggie straws) but how do I avoid this all together? Why am I so obsessed with food? What is wrong with me? How do I get back on track?

Ok so I'm a little over 8 months out, down from 375 to 240. Yeah, that's great But for like two months I have been able to eat anything and everything, and I have been! I feel like I can't control myself and I am eating to the point where I am past full, and eating bad stuff. I'm so scared, I don't want to do this but I just cannot keep the stuff out of my mouth. I have good intentions in the morning, and occasionally have a good day food wise, but it's rare What do I do? I'm so scared of failing and gaining back all of this weight Please please help.
