  1. 100% agree. i told no one at work. I dont need the food police or people asking me all about it.
  2. hang in there! you're still SUPER successful with losing 89 lbs, right? I think that's fabulous and I know you will reach your goal!
  3. doc confirmed the ab muscle soreness is totally normal and it's healing from the port. as for food, i have "cheated" a couple of times with non-soft foods that arent on my list, but for the most part I have been eating eggs, mozzarella cheese, yogurt, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, and soup. It's just crazy to me how fast i am full. my brain is like WHAT is happening here! LOL I know i am probably still eating too fast, and that's a hard habit to break and I'm working on it.

    Day After Surgery Question?

i stayed overnight at the hospital and my dad drove me home the next day by 1pm. I was fine by myself (luckily), but of course you never know what could happen.
  6. i take calcium, multivitamin and B12 each day.

    Banded Plication

I just had it may 29. I agree I'd love to hear from more people who've had it for a while.
  8. Question for you guys-- when I eat and feel full after a small quantity, is that my band? Or is that the plication making me feel full after such a small amount? I've only been banded 1.5 weeks. I had my post op doc appointment and they said there could be some fluid in the band but they won't know until I start getting adjustments. I'm just curious.

    Drinking My Last Coke

Me too! I miss diet coke. I had my last one 2 days before surgery. I switched to tea and iced tea, but I still miss it!

    Surgery June 8!

I stayed 1 night and left the next day around 12pm.
  12. aww I hope you feel better. I'm sorry you had that experience. I had my surgery 8 days ago. I stayed in the hospital 1 night and my 1st night home was uncomfortable, but each day got better from there. Today I feel pretty much "normal" other than some soreness at my port area. Good luck to you!
  13. i have my 1st pre-op appt with the doc tomorrow. i'm feeling pretty good, but I ate a couple of things I wasnt supposed to last night. anyway, the only thing that is still sore is the port area -- it feels like my ab muscle is still healing or something.

    Hey!!

Yesterday I had a work event and went out to lunch with coworkers. I was nervous, but I ordered the soup. I have to say I did get full pretty fast and the weirdest thing for me was not being able to drink after eating since it's soemthing I used to do ALL the time. We also had a cocktail party to attend last night. I had a couple of the appetizer bites (the ones that were soft) and I was SO full. I didnt feel stuck, but I definitely had that full feeling...almost too full, which I know isnt good to have on day 7. Anyway, I can tell the plication must be working. It was very interesting to see myself in an environment like that where there was so much food and drink and I really had to think about what I was doing -- no mindless eating crabcakes and mini burgers LOL.

    How Long?

Banded on a Tuesday and I could have worked on Friday of I pushed, but I opted to go back on Monday. I was tired but ok. (I have a desk job)

How do you tell your friends?

I opted not to tell anyone. Well, I told my dad and 1 friend, but I waited until 2 weeks before surgery to tell them. I'm not telling my 'eating buddies' and I will just deal with it when they see me eating less.

    Hey!!

I'm down a little more than 15 lbs so far (incl pre op). I am weary to post this because I know some people gain a little once we're really able to eat more "normal" foods. But still, I'm excited!

    New To Mushy Foods

I'm still new (surgery 5/29) but from what I've read, that's totally normal. You're still healing, but the weight will continue to come off.
