    Plication Lapband Fills

I wasnt nervous about the plication. I was more just anxious/excited about the surgery in general. I thought it would be a good addition to the band. So far, so good
  2. If this is your first fill, you probably won't notice any difference. The fill itself is usually quick and doesn't hurt. It's a slight pinch, but that's it. My doc had me drink some water afterwards to make sure it went down and then I left. I was on mushies for 2 days. I go for my second fill next week and I think that will get me to a good place. Good luck!

    Plication Lapband Fills

I had banded plication in late May. I got my first fill in late June. 2nd fill will happen next week. I think this next fill will really help me start losing at a quicker pace.

    Worried?

You're normal. I lost weight the 1st month and then plateaued for the next. I have my 3 month post op appointment next week. I think I'm losing again, but it's slow. Also, I'm at the gym a lot. I'm running a half marathon in 5 weeks. I'm eating ok too. I track calories. I think you're body is just settling after the surgery and initial weight loss. And now your body is dealing with the gym. I say dont go too fast too soon. You'll do great and start to lose again.

    Need Travel Advice, Please

I went on a group trip less than 3 weeks after surgery. No one knew I had the surgery. I was scared of getting stuck, etc in front of people but overall it was totally fine. Whenever possible, order soft foods. I stuck to yogurt for breakfast and soups for dinner. Lunch was hard because people were eating sandwiches. I did lie a couple times and said I wasn't feeling well so i was able to avoid some foods. You'll be new from surgery so you wont have much of an appetite. I recommend you eat SLOW. I messed up and got stuck. It was horrible and I had to excuse myself to the bathroom. There was dessert so I did try sorbet and just a few spoonfuls. That way, people saw me eating but didn't really notice that I was eating much less than usual. You'll be fine. Just go with how you feel a s eat slowly. Good luck.
  7. good luck! it will be here before you know it

    Feedback On Plication With Band.

I got the band with plication done in late May. I've had no problems. I was self pay and it did cost more. My weight loss has slowed and I'm getting my 2nd fill next week.

you should be fine! i have UHC and did not have to do the 6 month diet.
  11. i think that's the average weight loss, but there are deifnitely people who have lost 100% of their excess weight. there are also some who havent lost much, but from what I hear it's all about the work that youre willing to put into it. i'm hopeful i lose 100% of my excess weight!
  12. youre down 53, that's AMAZING. I'm trying to get under 200 right now...I keep bouncing around 203, 201, etc...we shall see!
  13. that stinks about the air cast! I'm sure you'll lose more quickly once that comes off and you can move better.
