    Trying To Get Approved

My lap band doc sent me to get a sleep study. So, that will probably be something you should check out. Sleep apnea plus bmi over 35 should get you insurance approval. I tried to go through insurance and unfortunately got denied, so I was self pay.

    Sils Lapband

I had it. Sils is single incision laparoscopic surgery. The recovery is faster because there's only 1 incision in the belly button.

    Plication-Long Term

I have band w/ plication. I don't think long term results are available yet, but I'm 5 months out and doing ok. Supposedly the plication is reversible.

    Lapband With Plication?

I had band with plication in late May. In 5 months I'm down 40 lbs. I've had 2 small fills. I feel the plication is just another tool to help me.
  10. I miss my diet coke, but I now drink water, crystal light, and diet snapple.
  11. Mine was about 3-4 months. I tried to go thru insurance, but got denied so I did self-pay.
  12. Yes you'll be able to chug water. I asked the same thing of the nutritionist before I had surgery!

    Stress And Your Band

Stress definitely affects me too, which is funny because then I get more stressed that I can't eat. Lol. It goes way. Just take it easy.

    New Puppy?

My pup was 7 months old and 50+ lbs when I had surgery. She was/is a handful (shes now 1 year and 70 lbs), so I had her at boarding for a few days during/after surgery. By day 3 after surgery I was able to walk her a bit. She needed a lot of attention, so I had her in daycare a few hours a day. I think with a small puppy you should be fine. Just be careful. I didn't feel like myself until day 5. Getting and training a new puppy could be rough while you're still healing if you're not careful. Good luck!

    Keeping It A Secret

I told my dad because I needed him to drive me home from hospital. lol. I also told 1 friend who I know would never tell a soul. I chose not to tell any of my good girlfriends. I feel it's my journey and I'm happy to keep it a secret. I've had to be creative when eating out with friends, but I make it work.

I had surgery on a Tuesday and I was back at my (desk) job on Monday. I was tired for a few days, but glad to get out of the house. Good luck to you.

    No Restriction!?!?!

Sometimes it can take a few days or even weeks for restriction to kick in after a fill. I'd wait a couple weeks and see what happens.
