I totally understand. BUT I also had an awful scar from the 1 st surgery. And this time. My surgon revised my original scar and the new one is so much better !! And I also figured an average scar to show on a skinny belly is better than a smooth fat belly covered !!

Yes lg incision,, not. COmmon. I had a previous abdominal surgery that left TONS of scar tissue and adhesions that they has a Very hard time getting thru,, so has to open to clean things out. 28 staples later ,,,,, all is well!

Funny, I found this thread while relaxing At the hotel on my first trip post surgery. I was riding after 10 days and Couldn't wait to be back on my own, now 25 days out( must say 10 hrs keeping my dyna wide glide 1450 steady has made me sore) but now we are getting ready to cruz the" dragon tail" in Tn and I'm sporting. Tank top and cowboy boots that I could t wear 1 month ago ;p. life is good

I am a May 1 st girl, and I've been bouncing the same 2-4 lbs for a week now. I'm having a hard time getting over 300-400 cal per day and even hard to get in all the fluids needed, so I'm sure body is in save mode. I'm trying to resolve to the belief that I can't stay 240# on 400 calories a day, forever.,,,,, can I?????

If you are using FMLA they require 30 days notice usually,, and I'd u can work on your liquid diet then working untill d day is fine. As far as going right back to work, endless you sit most of the day and are able to nap at lunch,,,, good luck. Even with the best surgery is uncomfortable to say the least. Remember , they're REMOVIng your stomach!!! T hat takes time to heal! Good luck in your journey

I too am a tummy sleeper,,,, on day 4 postoperative I just had to,,, a flat body pillow, a dose of pain med,, then on to my side/ tummy. I hold the pillow to my frnt and over I roll to the other side.

No, I had a previous and surgery 15 yrs ago that left behind LOTS of scar tissue, then there was spittle more bleeding then the surgeon was comfortable with,,, so open on order to see

We're all on the same page! I add powder to everything I take in,,, I too need the BM, So scared to take a stimulant for fear of cramping,, what do u think??

Hi everyone! I too was sleeved on Tuesday. Turned to an OPEN surgery so recovery day 1&2 were in ICU, but still came home fri,, and today feeling ,, not to bad. Eating is 1 step at a time Today started w/ a shake(4oz) then soup, pudding , drink, yougart, all 3 hrs apart and all w/ protein powder added. Not expecting to reach 60-80 gm port. For another week or 2. Per my nutritionist Thank god no nausea , since 2 vomiting episodes while still in ICU ( wouldn't wish that pain on the devil)!!!,, And. Cant wait for this drain to come out!

I, my name is Victoria, and I have 24 more hrs till my NEW birthday !!! May 1 1pm ill become the biggest loser I know!!! And I can't wait. My husband and children have been so supportive and are just as excited . I am very blessed. I've ready many post of people wondering if it's wrong. NOt to tell everyone about the Wls, I too have chosen not to tell coworkers and most of my family. Eventually, if someone is to ask why I am so radiantly happy and healthy looking, I'll b glad to tell about my whole journey, but for now this is just another step I have to take to take my life back. Just as I don't notify everyone that I stopped eating carbs, or that I starting taking pills to curb my appitite.,,this is another tool I am choosing to use to controll my intake of food. I hope to keep a running log of my journey and offer encouragement and hope just as I've read from so many other on this site.
