Will I Ever Be Able To Eat Bread Again?
crystalintville replied to juanita19's topic in Food and Nutrition
If you are cleared from your doctor, try the eggface ricotta bake or pureed cauliflower with chicken stock & a little dry ranch seasoning. Both are awesome. Also, I bought some frozen greek yogurt pops w/ honey this weekend that aren't too sweet. I'm 4 months out and have had bread in small qtys- few bites of pita bread, a mini yeast rolls, a hawaiian roll, and 1/2 a wheat flatbread toasted. I had no issues but bread is my kryptonite so I try to avoid it. -
Can You Eat Out After This Type Of Surgery?
crystalintville replied to Joy1961's topic in Food and Nutrition
Yes, I do. This weekend we had guests over and ate out more than usual. Saturday lunch at greek sub place- side of marinated chicken, ate half. Sunday breakfast- ate sausage from biscuit, threw biscuit away, Sunday lunch at sit down country rest- shared off dh's plate 2 bites zucchini, 2 bites broccoli casserole, & a few bites of baked ham and pineapple. I usually try to order a side of grilled chicken or shrimp if I don't see a healthy kids meal (eat 1/2 or so) or don't want to share off someones plate. -
Loose Skin
crystalintville replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Loose skin is my biggest fear too. I've lost 84lbs so far and don't need it though I'm jiggly. I use firming lotion, stretch mark cream, & vitamin E. I've also started pole dance classes this month, which really tone and strengthen the upper arms, thighs, and abs (all my problem areas). I start the gym Thursday. I hope to only have plastics on my chest & tummy area when I lose down to goal. -
How Do People Get Thru This Three Day Pre Op Cleanse?
crystalintville replied to stickks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try the Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup broth (strain everything) and apple juice. That was my go-to foods for those 3 days. It sucks and it's tough, but you will feel much fuller very soon . -
Necessary But Scarey
crystalintville replied to Scaredy Cat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My BMI was 51 when I started (310, 5ft 5.5") and I'm now 37.2 halfway through 19 weeks later. I feel so much better and with a tummy so little many times it honestly feels like a Thanksgiving dinner after a 3 oz pc of chicken and a couple bites of veggies. I'm happy about where I'm headed and my self esteem is a million times better than 4 months ago. I have a 10 and 12 year old myself and for the first time in a long time soon I'll be able to go to the theme parks with them and actually ride the rides with them. I know there can be weight gain but when you can only eat 4oz at a time and you stick to eating mostly healthy protein foods for 3-4 times a day I don't see any big gains happening. Most of my family is obese and 3 of 4 grandparents had/have cancer so I know the dread feeling of what if. When is your surgery? -
Please Help Me With My Hair Lost
crystalintville replied to Tabassom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Does your multi-vitamin have biotin? You may want to add in a biotin vitamin and Nioxin or another protein type shampoo and make sure you get in your 60-80 grams of protein a day. The hair loss is normal from 3-8 months. From my profile pic I had pretty long hair but for the past few weeks I've been shedding worse than my cats, washing my hair, brushing, flat ironing, driving with a window down, sitting still.. long blonde hairs were getting on everyone so Saturday I had it cut in layers above my shoulders. The girl shampooed it and combed it out and gobs were coming out and she said I see why you're having it cut short... It looks fuller and though it's still falling out, it doesn't look it such big qtys. Good luck, it will get better . -
Me too, I'm almost 4 months out and my face is broke out with 4 spots when I usually get maybe 1 at the most per month. I've been using baking soda. It's also not as oily so I don't know why it would break out more.

Dr. Kelly's Patients Pre-Op Diet
crystalintville replied to CCCross's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did my pre-op diet with Dr Kelly from the 1st week in May to May 25th. My BMI was over 50, so I was on the mushies. Mashed cauliflower, mashed potatoes, chicken broth, sugar free jello, low sodium V8, apple juice, sugar free pudding, cinnamon applesauce, basically any veggie or fruit pureed without added fat or sugar. I lost from 310 to 285 3 weeks on the mushies. The last 3 days was only clear liquids though. -
Calling All Patients Of Dr's Ponce, Lopez, Kelly, Garcia And Ortiz...
crystalintville replied to Paigers's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went to Dr Kelly on May 25th and he was great. I have many posts here and some on my blog www.losethisbelly.blogspot.com near the beginning with pictures and everything. The day I got out of the hospital I went to a bullfight, shopping, and out to eat (well juice & broth). Omar is great, he can get Dr Kelly on the phone to personally answer questions quickly. Dr Kelly has a facebook page and friended me and has commented to me there as well. I feel the surgery was very personable, I had no complications and I truly liked all the staff and my entire experience. If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer you. My pre-op diet combined with my post op loss is 80.8 lbs in 19 weeks so I'm very pleased with my surgery with Dr Kelly which was $5500 all inclusive plus airfare. -

Completely Given Up
crystalintville replied to Blackstuff77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
40 isn't bad at all. I started at 310 and I've lost 67 lbs total, 42 since surgery May 25th, so just a little behind you on post-op loss. You've still averaged over 3 lbs a week which is great! -
I'm 11 weeks out and I can eat some spice (cumin, chile powder, garlic, cilantro so far), keeping in mind I can't drink until after 30 minutes. I can still eat chili with some hot sauce, but I add sour cream to tone down the heat a bit. I also can eat pickles .

Yep, most meals feel like I've had a Thanksgiving Feast after 4 oz.

You look great girl! -
I've lost 60 and I've went from a 44DDD with much overhang to a 42DDD. I will shed some tears when I lose my girls until I can afford plastics. My sister is a B and buys her bras from Victoria Secret with a gel padding for like $50ea. She looks like a full C in them.

Any Charlotte Nc Sleevers?
crystalintville replied to NCsleever63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm from Thomasville. I had my surgery on 5/25 with Dr Kelly in Mexico. -
I don't love protein bars, but I keep them in my desk at work for busy days. I split them in half and get way full. I prefer the crunchy ones like a trail mix bar rather than the nougat kinds. Clif is my favorite I've tried so far.

How Many Lbs Did You Lose Before Dropping Pants Size
crystalintville replied to Amom2twins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 60 lbs down and started in a 24/26. I went pretty fast to a 22. This weekend my 22's were falling off my hips so I shopped for 20s found 18s instead. Snug but they fit. Maybe another 10-15 lbs and you'll drop a size in those pants . -
Stall Advice Needed
crystalintville replied to KristieAtkinson's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I started at 310, SW on 5/25 285 and I weigh 249.4 now. I have stalled four times since surgery, down 35.6 lbs, so our post-op numbers are pretty close. I lose the most around my TOM. I stalled for 7 days then this weekend lost like 3 lbs. I get witchy and mad about it some days, but then I realize I have no loose skin and 3 1/2 lbs a week is decent. 85 lbs is awesome!
