What Are You Eating Tomorrow?
crystalintville replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be 6 months out Sunday and I'll be having 4 oz total of turkey, ham, squash casserole, and a couple bites of my mama's dressing and some mashed sweet potatoes (my dessert). I won't be having the mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, pie, or cupcakes though I am cooking them. I tried out some Boars Head turkey breast and spiral ham last weekend at Harris Teeter and it was the most moist turkey I'd ever tried. All you have to do is heat in a little water, brown the crust, and ta-da! I'm been craving it now all week! At 5 weeks out, I was eating meat with no issues, just make sure it's juicy like the pp said. Happy Thanksgiving! -
Onederland-Woohoo!
crystalintville replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! I'm so ready for onderland too! -
I haven't shopped their since I got my sleeve, but in the prepared meats, the balsamic chicken is yummy, the dried chipolte mangos are addictive, I never met a cheese I didn't like, and they have an Dynamo plus calcium juice that I love. We are *finally* getting a TJ's one town over and I'm excited!

Anyone Have Any Complications Going To Mexico For Surgery
crystalintville replied to mbabercrombie's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery in May in Tj with no complications. I went to Dr. Kelly. Unfortunately, I'm not paid for my testimony or it would help with my $200 monthly payments lol. -

30 Somethings - Loose Skin After Wls?
crystalintville replied to bkz3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 90 lbs down so far and I know I'm going to have to have skin on my stomach even with exercise as I carried A LOT of weight there and previous stomach surgeries. I'm not sure on my arms or chest yet. I don't have any skin on my arm yet, but I have the bat wings now. I workout 4 days a week right now focusing on my thighs, upper arms, and stomach. -
I starting taking pole class about 1 1/2 months ago. I wear the tight capris or leggings from Walmart and a tighter t-shirt. I'm currently 219 and was 230ish I think when I started. The pole limit at mine is 250. I cannot do spins with both legs in the air yet, but I can do one pretty decent and I can do all the hip moves, hooks, and slide downs. I feel it in my upper arms and in my toes every class so I know it's working something and it's very fun. I don't feel judged and no spectators or cameras are allowed in class.

What Did You Take With You To Mexico?
crystalintville replied to Lollyx3's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
For clothes I brought t-shirts, pull on capris, pj pants, bras without underwire, undies, a flip flops (May). I should have brought a thin hoodie as it was actually cooler in Mexico than NC. I could have actually worn stretchy loose jeans which would have came in handy with the pockets so I wish I had those too. I brought gas-X strips, mini tolietries, deo, fem supplies (just in case), a book, my netbook, camera & batteries, makeup, my ID, certified birth certificate, and 1 debit card. You don't need that much really, less to haul around. I bought a water from the airport on the way home but the drs wife bought me bottled gatorade and water for my hotel stay and I could only spit ice chips in the hospital. -
Post Op ?s
crystalintville replied to michelleooo513's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 19 weeks out and mostly eat protein followed by fruits and veggies, skim milk & oj juice boxes (carby yes, but I went from 2-5 gallons of milk a week to 8 oz a day). For my few cheats I have had bread~ soft & toasted maybe 1 oz serving, wheat thin & saltine crackers, dark chocolate chips, a persimmon muffin, a few bites of vanilla soft serve, 1/2 c of real lemonade with sugar, and a latte with skim milk & sf caramel syrup all with no issues. I chew well but not total mush. Nothing has not stuck, no dumping, no foamies, tummy of steel here lol. Once you eat 60grams of protein a day in 3-4 4 oz servings there really isn't room for much of anything else and you get full like a Thanksgiving dinner full once you hit that 4 oz mark so I like having that restriction with the sleeve. -
I love me some greens and vinegar, yum! I can eat veggies, raw or cooked no problem. For lunch I had about 3 oz of steak and some grilled squash.

Blab To Everyone, Or "close To The Vest?"
crystalintville replied to ArcusX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think there is anyone I haven't told, relatives, coworkers, everybody on my facebook, waitresses, etc. I didn't want to cook for a while after surgery, couldn't swim til my tummy healed up, don't allow krispy kreme doughnuts in my office, or when I do go into restaurants, I wanna order off the kids menu, a la carte, pretty good explanation for all the above . Also, some people have asked me questions regarding themselves and surgery or high protein diet and they wouldn't know to ask if I didn't share. I'm proud I had the guts (haha) to do it and have nothing to hide. It certainly isn't the easy road. -
Beginning My Journey To Mexico
crystalintville replied to zoriahdiana5's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery with a different dr but in Tijuana and May and had a great experience. I second that Cafe Mole broth. A couple sips of that and a couple sips of pineapple juice and your new sleeve will be very happy! -
Why No More Dr.kelly Threads?
crystalintville replied to mikeross's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went to Dr Kelly on May 25th, I'm 19 wks post op and 89 lbs down including my 3 wk pre-op diet. I had a great experience and still have frequent contact with Dr Kelly and Omar. I didn't have any complications and the hospital was very clean. -
So - For The Guy Who Works Too Much.. Recipies?
crystalintville replied to Inline6E46's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Do you have a muffin tin? If so the "cupcakes" made from wontons on emilybites.com are delicious and so easy my hubby made them this week. Wonton wrappers, deli roast beef, laughing cow swiss, au jus from a jar, shredded cheese. We are trying out the buffalo chicken ones today. That website and theworldaccordingtoeggface is great. Lets see, microwaved egg beaters with a little shredded cheese, & deli turkey or ham, turkey bacon... Not sure how this would cook in a toaster oven but wrap 1/2 pc bacon around shrimp and bake. One kitchen tool I've used almost daily since being sleeved is my pancake skillet. It was like $15, doesn't take up much room on the counter, cooks eggs and meat well without butter or oil. -
Help! Mexico Questions!
crystalintville replied to aramey75's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
1. Just the patient info form & a mushy 3 week diet. 2. Only paid for my souvies and broth & juice at one meal out. 3. 3 days post-op. 4. I haven't needed any but with your local PCP. 5. I use this board and 2 facebook groups. 6. I had no issues with language. 7. I squished my butt on the flight there, luckily next to a skinny person. On the way back, I took 1/4 a pain pill before boarding and slept most of the flight. The turbulence landing on the way back sucked and I slept it off most of the day. Charlotte NC has a direct flight to San Diego, 5.5 hrs . I paid like $528 rt. 8. Meds were included in my surgery price though you can buy extra there. 9. The hotels are nice and I would think you would want to be where the drs other patients are to make friends and easier for him to do checkups. 10. I felt safe in Tj. -
What Percentage Of Your Excess Weight Did You Lose?
crystalintville replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 4 months & 1 week out, started at 310 and am down @ 87 lbs. My ideal is 135, so I've lost 50% so far if you count my pre-op weight, When I loose 75% I'll be 178lbs. Question, do you count your highest weight or your surgery day weight? If surgery day weight I've lost 42% and my norm would be 173 lbs. My main goal is 170, 150 once I get plastics. -
