I was an ENFJ---and the cool thing is that it says that I should be a teacher etc.. and I am! Ha Ha! I guess I picked the right career 15 years ago. I love teaching and never want to do anything else (well maybe when I retire )

Please be careful with the Phentermine (appetite suppressant)- I was on them ( Phen Phen) and developed lung problems. Good luck to you for your success now and then future! Denise

How soon does the soreness go away?
Denise replied to JeninCO's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me almost a week before I felt like a human. But please remember this throughout your journey in bandland---everyone is different: Recovery times are different, what you will be able to eat/not eat and how fast or slow you lose weight. Congrats on getting banded! Denise :clap2: -

Hi Everyone, I had my first fill today under fluoro...1cc in a 4cc band. Feeling sick to my stomach. It seems to be like hunger pains. Is this normal? I feel exhausted.:faint: My doctor was really vague about what to eat afterwards..he only said to be on Clear liquids this afternoon....I need some advice. Thanks so much, Denise

You are an inspiration!

Are you still on your pain meds? I had the same problem as you but only the first week after surgery---so I stopped taking the hydrocodone...and no more problems. Also, get some fiber powder...it works

I went in to my first doctor's constultation visit at the end of January 2007 and I had my surgery on March 08, 2007. So I guess it was less than two months. I am covered under my husband's insurance which is United Health Care---and he has the best coverage policy that the company offers. Of course if I still had my teacher insurance---it wouldn't have covered it.

Returning shoulder/neck pain
Denise replied to Berry's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I happens to me if I eat or drink to much. -
Hi Berry, I am getting my appetite back too...aargh!!! Good thing that I am going in for my first fill on Monday 4/9--which is a month after my surgery. For what I have been reading on the posts--this may be too soon. When is your doctor doing your first fill? Denise :nervous
-
Hi Medge, This happened to me with the shoulder pain. It lasted about a week---I used a heating pad and laid horizontal---and tried to walk as much as I could. Take care! Denise
-
I have been banded since 3/8---and yes my doctor has me introducing solids because I am to be filled 4/9.
-
Thanks Tammy! I am on to soft foods with introduction of more solid foods everyday. No PBing yet...crossing my fingers! I have my first fill 4/9 which I believe is a little too early---but the doctor doesn't---so I am doing it. When is everyone else banded in early March getting their first fill? I am very nervous. I really haven't had a full meal yet---I still pick and eat very very little portions.

I am surprised that your doctor didn't give you the generic liquid form of morphine? If I were you, I would call and have him call in the liquid.

Hi Berry! Be careful with Pasta on the mushie stage! My doctor says it is a no no.
-
Full liquids for me includes applesauce and cottage cheese. Which I hate both :cry. Every doctor is different with their post-op diet. Denise

Presby Hospital in Dallas has a support group once a month. I enjoy going and a nutritionist is there--to answer questions! I even went to a meeting prior to having the surgery. Denise
