  1. You really need to tell them even if it delays your op for a few weeks. It will affect your anaesthetic and would also imagine you have a cough which will be sore on your post op scars. Good luck x

    Terrified Of Anaesthesia!

I have been under anaesthetic approx 5 times. It's just like having a sleep. What is your fear of? You will wake up? Or you won't wake up?
  3. Another one who has a band and now getting the sleeve. There was never any question of the band removal and sleeve being a joint op. I had my band removed in November and had to wait until February for an endoscopy to see of there was a scar tissue problem from the band. There wasn't so now I await my sleeve op date, sometime in the next 6 weeks x
  4. The surgeon reckons I will be in for 3 days and the nurse said 5 days I will be in hospital for. I have a desk job too and they are talking about any where between 2-6 weeks off. Luckily I will be on full pay. I just feel that I am getting conflicting messages from the hospital. I have no idea what I am supposed to eat/drink when I get home so I can't stock up. I live by myself so won't be able to go shopping as apparently I can't drive for 6 weeks. There just seems a lack of information from my hospital.
  5. Hello, my name is Suzie and new to the forums. I am due to get the gastric sleeve sometime in the next 6 weeks, just waiting for a date. I will also be moving house in the next 7 weeks which is bad timing so totally stressing at the moment :-(
  6. I have kind of been through this experience before, I had the gastric band and lost 7 1/2 stone, but my stomach distended and I has to get it removed so all the weight went back. So I am getting this op now. I am looking forward to getting back into some of my old clothes. This is a much bigger op though. How long we're people in hospital with their sleeve op? Thank you all for your friendly welcome and advice. I look forward to your support and friendship x
  7. I have to go on a diet starting 7 days before the op. I am allowed 0% fat yoghurt, bovril, sugar free jelly and 1/2 a pint of skimmed milk a day. It seems everyone else is on a different diet from me.
