    Need Exercise Support....help!!!

Try deep water aerobics! It is truly the best, and if you don't use a float belt you burn even more calories. I love it because it doesn't feel like a workout while I am doing it because I am fighting buoyancy instead of gravity! It surprisingly burns ALOT of calories too... I love it and have stuck to it since I was banded 3/27/12 and have already lost 35lbs!
  2. Don't sweat it! I advanced my diet a bit quicker than what was recommended and was totally fine... Usually after two weeks you should be on a semi-soft diet? That would include peanut butter Just eat everything slowly, chew well, and in moderation and you will be just fine.

    Feeling Hungry!!

Hello fellow lapbanders! I just joined this site and am glad to be here. I started out at 318lbs and had my surgery March 27th, 2012... I actually lost 14lbs in the three days pre surgery on the clear sugar free liquid diet if you can believe it! It has been about 4 and a half weeks and I am now weighing in at 287lbs. I was supposed to get my first fill this week, but my port incision became very infected and opened so I have to wait another week until I am off the the antibiotics The first 3 weeks were a breeze and I was barely hungry at all, feeling satisfied with only about 800-1000 calories a day. However, now I am RAVENOUS and could raid a bakery or two I have been really good about controlling myself but it is getting harder as my hunger grows every day. I really hope my first fill next week will help! I have been exercising daily (water aerobics!) and I also just began waitressing part time which has helped me burn alot of calories too. Did anyone else struggle with the full force hunger a few weeks after surgery? If so, how did you/do you cope?!

    Feeling Hungry!!

I am sorry to hear that judych! It is most certainly tough, I have found that keeping busy as well as keeping only healthy food options in my pantry has helped alot. It is not an overnight thing to lose the immense hunger most of us had pre-surgery, but I think that once we both get a fill (I get mine on thursday) it will get better and continue to get better with more fills! Stay strong my friend!

    Feeling Hungry!!

I waited two weeks after surgery and yes I cover the port incision each time I swim even though it is closed up again. I do have a food scale i am just constantly craving more food/feeling unsatisfied with my small portions... I just have to get through this week until I get my first fill which should help!!

Protein Shake Hard For Me To Do

I found these amazing shakes at GNC called GNC Lean Shakes which are 170 calories, 25 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. They come in vanilla and chocolate and are DELICIOUS!! The first 2 weeks after surgery I just drank half at a time because I was so full after but they truly are tasty.
  9. Did your doc give you a deep breathing plastic thingy at surgery? I was told to take lots of deep breaths each hour with that because with all surgeries, there is a chance of lung/chest infection. I would call your doc!

    Pre-Surgery Freakout!!

Don't stress too much! Alot of people "warned" me against it too but I had it done March 27th and it was over before I knew it! It was very quick/outpatient and the recovery wasn't terrible... just a few days of feeling weak and uncomfortable. I have already lost 31 pounds and I have not even had my first fill yet. You will do great! Just believe in yourself and imagine how happy you will be once you have had it done and are in progress to reaching your weight loss goals. Good luck!
