  1. I'm still in pain too... Not that bad but sometimes I feel like I got the short end of the stick. I would definitely all the dr. If its that bad they need to do something for you. :-( Shouldn't have discharged you for sure.
  2. I know what you mean!!! I have been home since Thursday afternoon and am not getting what I need to. I try not to push it cuz I don't want to mess up my incision or anything so I am just doing my best to sip sip sip.. And it is getting better each day!!! My Dr and nutritionist made it clear that I won't be able to consume that much right away.
  3. Does Gas-x really help with the gurgly gassiness??
  4. Really freaked today... Shed a few tears at work of course! Felt slightly better after seeing Dr for pre op.... Then picked up my RX's.... Freaked me out again!! I think I am having anticipatory gas pains in my shoulders. LOL. I'll be fine I know. Just gotta get into the OR and then I'll be asleep and it won't matter anymore!!
  5. Surgery is scheduled for Tues morning which I have mostly been excited about.... Then I read about post op'rs who aren't losing significant weight and it freaks me out!!!! I don't want to go through all this and then not be successful. I know I am in control of that but the what if's freak me out! What if I don't change? What if I don't lose? What if what if what if!?

    Protein Shake Question

I was told by my Nut. that Ensure High Fiber was ok pre and post op and I really enjoy it actually. But I got a bunch of the Premier brand from Costco on sale this weekend for post op.
  7. I am curious how many days it took for you to feel pretty good after surgery? By that I mean up for a short drive or quick trip to the store...

This Bill I Got In The Mail Is Bugging Me

I can't even imagine!! I work for an insurance company.... So I see both sides of it. Have you called the insurance yet? I would suggest calling yourself and finding out what happened... it really could be a billing error. Someone transposes a # and wham! It denies. Try not to completely freak yet until you talk to the insurance. They should be able to explain what happened or what needs to be done to fix it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that its just a mistake!!!!
  9. Has anyone tried the ENS powdered multivitamin with calcium?? I have read that some find the Bariatric Advantage version to be too sweet and I see several people have ordered the Celebrate ENS version but I am curious if anyone has actually tried it yet. I have tried the chewable Bariatric Advantage and find them disgusting so I am trying to find another option before my surgery. One less thing to worry about ya know?
  10. I too am having surgery on the 15th and I am RIGHT there with you!!!!!! I have all the same worries and concerns. Its the fear of the unknown. Just know you are not alone!!
  11. Ooooohhhhh I got ya! That sucks. Did you try taking anything to make it stop?? I have noticed the same thing though... when I eat something that is sweet or not a vegetable my stomach gets icky. Which sucks but I guess is also a good thing! Means you are doing something right!
  12. Don't freak! I have been doing a pre-op diet for over a month now... My Dr has different stages to the diet... and admittedly I have cheated more than once. I try and still make better choices when I do cheat (smaller portions etc) but I am still losing weight so I am not freaking! I don't think MCD's on occasion will ruin your surgery. Being on this diet so long there's no way I was strong enough mentally to NOT cheat. But that's part of the process I am going through.. have to get my mind/emotional state to match up with what I know is good for me. Best of luck to you!! I am also a May 15th surgery date.
  13. Holy crud... 1 week from today (5/15) is my surgery. I am totally freaking now. I am scared of the pain, scared of the actual surgery - people die in surgery! I have had surgery before but not something "elective" so to speak. I know I NEED to lose the weight and dieting doesn't work long term for me so the sleeve is a great option. I read peoples postings abut how they thought about this for years and had to do all this "pre" stuff..... Prior to 2/17/12 I was one of those people who thought bariatric surgeries were the easy way out!! Boy has the opinion changed!!!! Maybe the fact that 3 months after my seminar on the different procedures I am actually going to be having one is my issue. I am thankful that my insurance isn't stubborn on this and I don't have to go out of the country for surgery but its just gone sooooooo fast. I was telling a friend I truly feel like I have the "devil and angel" on my shoulders... ones saying DO IT!!! Best thing EVER!! Its what you NEED to live!!..... the other says "BUT BUT BUT" I am totally thankful that my nutritionist told me about this site!!

Awesome!!!! Thank you for that post!! I need a boost and that gave it to me. I am having surgery next week. I too have completely cut out soda... its been 3 months since I have even had a sip!! Hard but not as hard as I'd expected. Congrats to you on your awesome success!!
  15. I agree with the above statements!! The liver is the important part so just keep at it. If you are doing what you are told then it WILL happen!!!!!!! I went a few days wtih nothing too but eventually it kicked in and I am down 20 pounds now!
