Daily Calorie Total for those of you 6+ months out
Smelly Melly replied to ash's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm finding it really hard to keep below 700 calories. I actually just made a post asking everyone on some ideas on what I could eat to keep between 400 to 600 calories each day. Can you tell me what you eat on a good day?! Thanks -
Daily Calorie Total for those of you 6+ months out
Smelly Melly replied to ash's topic in Food and Nutrition
Ok I know I'm a little late with this post but I was wondering what you use to track your protein and carbs? I have a little book but it doesn't break anything up. It just gives the calorie count and fat content. Also I would love to eat 400 calories a day. Can anyone give me some ideas on how you acheive this? -
Help! Running out of will power!!!
Smelly Melly replied to Smelly Melly's topic in Food and Nutrition
Ok so I survived. I sucked on a Red Tulip egg and made it last a loooong time. I think you're all right though. If I really, really want it I should have it so I don't obsess over it. But I will just have a taste and that will satisfy the craving...fingers crossed anyway -
Oh I'm a newby! I hope that I haven't offended anyone. I come here for the great advise and the fact that everyone is so friendly. I hope that doesn't change

Hi Thinoneday. Those Tuna Patties sound great! mmmm...will have to see if there is a recipes thread! I get hungry in between meals. It's certainly not head hunger. It's a hollow, sick feeling in my stomach. I was hoping that Nexum would fix it but it hasn't I have been taking it for four days now and have no improvement. Will this go away? I should mention that I am only 3 weeks out.

Scared and need some support!
Smelly Melly replied to Jenslim4good's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HI Jen, I had my sleeve done on 23rd March. My incision sites were very red and swollen and oozing a LOT. My surgeon told me the oozing was normal and it meant that they were healing. He was right and it settled down by about day 8. My drain tube site was a different story. It was very infected and I had to take a course of oral antibiotics. I also had to regularly clean and dress the area. I couldn't stand up straight because of the pain. It was awful and I really feel for you. My BP was also low and my surgeon told me that it was from a combination of the anesthetic, laying down and not enough fluids. It corrected itself. Good luck and I hope you are feeling well again soon x -
2 Whole Weeks!
Smelly Melly commented on Bona Fide Diva's blog entry in Misadventures of a Bona Fide Diva! ME...
I am almost two weeks out and I must admit that I ate some Pringles because I really wanted them. I chewed them and spat them into the garbage. That's worse than licking spoons! It satisfied my craving and I haven't wanted to chew since! Good Luck  -
No undies for me here in Australia and I had to wash in a special antiseptic gel the night prior to and the morning of my surgery.

Hi Girdep. You need to take smaller sips and space them out :001_rolleyes:

Thanks for you reply! "Popsicles" sound good. I'm still lost with the Crystal Light / Koolaid. Is it like a powered type of low joule cordial? -

Ok everyone. I'm taking notes for my surgery on 23rd March. What are popsicles? Are they icy-poles? What is Crystal Light? Thanks -

What to do when family is not supportive?
Smelly Melly replied to FWLizzie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You can ask them to do their own research before they decide that they are against your surgery. Maybe direct them to this forum. I think the bottom line is that they love you and don't want anything to happen to you. You can't change that -
My Username says it all!
Smelly Melly replied to karaserene1985's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Change4thebetter2010...I know what it is about your mum! She's your mum and she loves you and she doesn't want anything to happen to you. I'm 35 married with two children and my mum is worried about my upcoming surgery. I totally understand where she is coming from. She doesn't want me to have it done and is not supportive. It's just because she loves me -
wondering if I am on track
Smelly Melly replied to Timetofly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IMO it depends on how much you weighed prior to being sleeved and on the liquid diet. The bigger you are the more you can expect to lose? -

Eating when you're not hungry?
Smelly Melly replied to Smelly Melly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for your replies. Tiffykins you are an asset to this site. You have put my mind at ease and helped me to see the light! My son has Asperger Syndrome. I have always been told that I am very proactive with his needs. Well I'm about to step it up a notch. I will shift my focus from food to helping others...hopefully. Today I enrolled myself in an Integration Aide course so I will be able to help other kids with special needs. I am the sort of person that is 'all or nothing' so I think this change in focus will serve as a good distraction for me. Thanks for the idea!! I will have support throughout my journey but from my banding experience support is not what I need. Distraction and a lifestyle change is what I need. Thanks for your support xx
