My first couple fills went well with no problem. This last one was suppose to be an unfill because I thought u was too tight. And the nurse poked me approximately 15 times and could not hit it. I started to panic and just said STOP. I am due to go back next week, I am still tight. I am going to take something for my nerves and ask several questions before she sticks. One of my question being (fluoroscopy). I am having anxiety thinking about it now. But I want to optimize my weight loss and u am not doing it with not being able to eat. I am down 70 pounds since surgery in July, I have set a goal of 100 pound by my 1 year surgerversary! My advice to you is to get your adjustment but ask questions that will ease your anxiety. Good luck!

Thank you. I am glad to know it wasn't just me.

Within the last week I have caught a head cold. I am really congested and I have notice that my band is tight. I can hardly eat anything with texture without it getting stuck. I have not had any issues with my band since getting it in July. Is this common with congestion or a cold?

Down 32 Lbs In 2 Months!!
djbrn02 replied to TriciaLN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is great! I am sorta in the same situation. I was banded on July 9th and 7 weeks later, August 24th, I went to the surgeon for my first fill and he wouldn't do it. I had lost 28 pounds since surgery. So it was more like a bitter sweet. I was sad because I was looking forward to a fill, but then I was glad that I had lost too much weight since surgery. My next appointment is at the end of September and if I lost more than 10 pound then no fill but less than 10 pounds I can get a fill. So far I am down 6 pounds since my last visit. Looks like no fill for me at the end of the month. -

Mirena? To Take Out Or Not?
djbrn02 replied to SusieSunshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is such a small amount of hormones that it doesn't affect anything. Sorry I thought you were talking about the surgeon having difficulties with surgery with it being in. But no the hormones should not be a problem. . -
Mirena? To Take Out Or Not?
djbrn02 replied to SusieSunshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No you can leave it in. Actually the surgery is nowhere in that area. You or she will be fine. -
Don't feel bad. I was banded on the 9th of July also and I don't know what size my band is either. I have an appointment on the 24th of this month. So I will have a lot of questions for my surgeon.

I usually try to measure everything. I bought a kitchen scale and I measure my meat (3-4 oz), then vegetables. However it total 8oz total in weight. Regardless if it is a liquid or not when chew it started at a certain weight. So if you chew 3 oz of meat then it is 3 oz however you toss it. I try not eat things that I can not measure and that keeps me in line with portion control.

2 Yrs In The Waiting Finally Banded On 7/25! Not Sure If Everything Is Normal?

Remembr that you are healing. I had surgery on the 9th and I still get tired at times and have to know when to slow down and even tell myself to stop. As far as the gas it will be there for a while. Walk walk and walk is the best medicine. The pain in the left shoulder lasted about 1 week in a half and that was the worst part of it all. The intake will gradually come just do not get dehydrated. The week after surgery I lost 5 pounds now I fluctuate between 1-2 pounds weight gain over the last two weeks. I think it is time to step up my exercise. At first when walking on the treadmill I would get exhausted. Now I think I can walk a little more. The good thing is I can see a big difference in my clothes. So just hang in there it will get better. -
Sure will. I will probably start on my tread mill tomorrow. Something has to give with this gas pain. Thanks recently banded distant

July 9Th Bandsters....
djbrn02 replied to swollen2swanky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 7/9 with a hernia repair. I feel ok but not well enough to run a marathon. I still have the pain in my chest and shoulder I have not had a bowel movement but I am passing gas and it is hard for me to get Jello or apple sauce down. My surgeon said 24 hours of clear liquids and then 7 days of full liquids and then week 2-4 soft foods then regular foods. But I am having a time with full liquids. Anyone else? recently banded distant -
I had surgery on Monday and they had to repair a hernia I did not know I had either. I still have quite of bit of pain in my chest and across my shoulders. I try to walk every hour. But it is so uncomfortable. Swallowing is difficult also. Just hang in there. soon to be banded sista

Need Help With Liquid Diet
djbrn02 replied to msnesha's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ms Nesha, I will be banded on July 9th as well I only had to do a week of liquids. It is hard to stay on track because I have to cook for the rest of my family but I am just using this as an opportunity for after surgery while I will be on liquids. Don't worry about cheating as long as you are losing weight. You should be fine. Good luck! soon to be banded sista
