Newly Banded On 4/23
gwenlyn089 replied to gale_1016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also banded on 4.23 and I'm a nurse as well. I was told by doctor not to return to work since I am on my feet all day as well, until after my follow up appointment - which is tomorrow. Feeling pretty good today. Still some soreness around port area, and I get tired if I'm moving around too much. Take it easy today and best of luck! -
mine are also itchy. if i wear anything too tight for too long, it also bothers that area.

How Soon Can I Go To The Gym?
gwenlyn089 replied to scalico's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i am also getting anxious to exercise. i have been up walking around in the house & yesterday went out with the hubby for some shopping. i can't wait to get on an elliptical. post op day 6 and i am down 9 lb. -
my area around my port is basically the only pain i have anymore. it is very irritating if you even slightly run your finger over it sometimes. hope you are feeling better!

3Rd Day With Band
gwenlyn089 replied to latisanava's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i also have been hungry. and i know i need to be getting more protein & water in me, but it's just so hard. i'm debating on making some smoothies, but i'm afraid this isn't really considered a liquid? also, i am not allowed to take off my bandages until i go for my follow up appointment on tuesday. i haven't really noticed any bruising, but they are getting itchy. - which could mean only one good thing - i'm healing! hope everyone else is hanging in there! -
congrats & good luck! keep up the positive attitude!

3Rd Day With Band
gwenlyn089 replied to latisanava's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
day 4 here for me as well. struggling with the protein shakes. i'm not a big fan of milk. but also doing the kellogs protein powder (5g protein, 5g fiber). also chicken soup broth. i'm not sure if i can have broccoli & cheese soup. dr. says as long as i can get it through a straw (without using one) then i can have it. not a big fan of jello either. stopped pain meds today. no nausea, but lots of gas. walking helps best of luck to you all though! -

i also stopped taking my pain medications today. no allergic reaction, but the pain has definitely subsided. no nausea either. just lots of gas. i am still trying to learn how to "sip". not that i gulped my drinks all the time, but i just feel so thirsty sometimes. all these protein drinks are definitely not helping with my thirst either. as for the bowel movements, i mean think about it, we haven't ate anything in days, or weeks. (depending on your doctors orders for pre-op.) so i wouldn't be super concerned yet, but i'm sure milk of magnesia will definitely do the trick.

the tightness in my chest finally started to disappear today. i only get it now and then, but mostly about 10 minutes after drinking. i hope it goes away for you soon! keep walking & maybe that will help. i try to walk every hour for at least 5 minutes.

no, not clear. just all sugar free popsicles, broth, & protein shakes. have any other suggestions? my surgeon suggested anything that i can sip through a straw (without using a straw) i can eat. but wouldn't that be considered purreed food? - which is weeks 2-4.

new to the forum, and banded monday. just wondering how other newbies are doing, and how everyone is adjusting. i had no fill at the time of surgery & was in a lot of pain up until today. i'm so proud of myself for not taking any pain/ nausea medicine today. however i am feeling hungry, which my surgeon said i probably shouldn't feel. anyone else feel this way? also, about 10 minutes after i drink something, i get a sharp pain in my chest, and it's hard to breathe. is this a stuck feeling? or just that i drank too much? look forward to talking with you all!
