I'm VERY vain as well, so I get where you are coming from. I was never muscular before so I'm not sure about muscle implants. I was busty, however, and have thought very seriously about breast implants. I still have very mixed feelings on them so I will be anxious to see others thoughts on this topic. I wish you the best with whatever decision you make!

Ninja, Bullet, Blender Or Food Processor?
7carol3 replied to ladiJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter bought me an Oster mini blender for Christmas last year. It is a sports bottle size blender that, once blended, you can twist off the blade attachment and twist on the lid that you can drink out of. I love it! Here is a link... http://www.amazon.com/Oster-BLSTPB-WBL-250-Watt-Blender-Powder/dp/B004P2OLB8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1345038765&sr=8-4&keywords=oster+blender It is a 20 oz. bottle so it wouldn't be good for large volumes of food or liquid. Hope this helps! -
I FINALLY got all the way through stage 1 of the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Patting myself on the back...well I would if I could lift my arms!

My new dress -- size 8!!
7carol3 commented on 7carol3's gallery image in Before and After Gastric Sleeve Photos
Thank you! I'm pretty proud of them. Push ups, as many as I can stand. I still do girly push ups but I'm OK with it. If you do them right they work too. I also use 5 pound hand weights and do curls and arm lifts. I just do my own thing with them but I'm sure you could find a hand weight work out online. -
3 Days Post-Op And Feeling Regret :'(
7carol3 replied to LorenaVaca's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there! I'm sure it's no fun but in a week you won't feel regret. This is just one of the bad moments, it will get better!! -
Absolutely!! I do feel a bit more outgoing so I think your theory may be right about the positive feedback. Just try and remember that positive feedback when you get the negative...it will happen. The world is full of negative nancies.

Maybe cut out the crackers all together. I still don't eat crackers and I'm 8 months out. I know some people can, and I am capable, I just don't. You, being so fresh from surgery, need to really work on getting in your protein. It really will help your body bounce back. Get some Greek yogurt.

I say throw away the scales!! It will come off and weighing often only causes stress.

Learn To Take A Compliment Already!
7carol3 replied to mommymar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have this problem. I do try to just say thank you but it sometimes doesn't sound sincere. People I see quite a bit I explain that I'm not great at accepting compliments yet but I appreciate their kind words. We need to learn to take people for what they say but it is so much easier said than done. I also hate it when people say "what are you doing? You look great!" I have been counseled to tell them thank you and that I have been exercising and watching what I eat and eating less. I don't have to tell EVERYONE that I had surgery and I don't have to feel like I'm not really doing anything. I AM exercising and yes, I can't eat as much as I used to but I AM also watching what I'm eating. We all need to do more patting ourselves on the back. Good luck to you and if you come up with anything that really helps you in these awkward situations, please let me know what it is. -
Is Something Wrong?
7carol3 replied to BroderDaniel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember everyone is different so you will do things differently, feel differently and have different reactions than your Mother. It is nice to have someone who has been through it but don't stress yourself out because some things are different than your Mother's experience. I'm sure you're doing great!! -
I had numbness and pain in my left thigh for a good amount of time after surgery. I talked to my surgeon about it and he said it could just be the effects of the anethesia. He did tell me that if it didn't get better to make sure I contacted him so that he could run any tests needed to be sure it wasn't a blood clot. It wasn't a blood clot. I would say just give it a little time and if it is still bothering you on Monday I would contact your surgeon's office just to ask about it. I can't remember how long it took me to get hungry for something. I know by about 1 1/2 weeks out I didn't want liquids anymore, so I guess that would be when. Good luck!

Ugh! I forgot to add that you should flatten out the mound of cheese otherwise it won't "crisp".
