You won't regret it! I was depressed for a while too. It has been 9 months since my surgery. I had exactly 100 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. When people ask me if I regret it I can say NOT A SINGLE BIT!! It's new to you still. I have seen a lot of people saying they are "mourning the loss of food" and I think that is so true. It is hard watching people eating solid food while you drink yours. IT GETS BETTER!! Try getting out and walking or whatever activity your doctor has approved. Exercise can relieve stress and depression. If you feel like crying then cry. There is nothing wrong with that! As far as why didn't you try harder...that is something you need to get out of your head. You can't put your stomach back. You can't change what you've already done. You can only do your best for your future. I personally could maintain 265 pounds for 18 years. I couldn't maintain 245 pounds for more than a month. I personally needed this tool, my sleeve, to get there and hopefully I will stay there. Keep your head up pretty lady, IT WILL GET BETTER!!

Gustavo- I have tried Pop Chips. I actually eat them quite a bit. I am 9 months out from my surgery. The ENTIRE bag is less than 400 calories (not the single serving size, those are 100 calories). I really like them, particularly the Sweet Potato and Salt & Vinegar varieties. I do eat carbs. I have eaten chips. I have had a cookie here or there. I have cake when it is someone's birthday. I keep track of EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth (even gum, event things with no calories like the pink packet sweetener) though and I make sure I'm not going over my calories for the day. If I'm getting close and I still have dinner to get in I go for a walk or a bike ride. I'm not saying everyone should do it, I'm just sharing my experience. I followed the rules TO THE LETTER until I went below my goal weight. I'm still below my goal weight. We can eat and be happy we just can't make ourselves happy by eating. Ultimately we never could...we never should.

Weight Gain Right After Surgery
7carol3 replied to Belinda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have posted this same thing on different threads about this same subject. You should NOT weigh yourself right after your surgery. Wait until your follow up appointment and let your doctor weigh you. Don't be a slave to your scale. I cannot tell you how HARD the mental aspect of this journey is sometimes. Don't add to it by weighing yourself everyday. It just depresses you if you don't see the results you want. Put the scale away, better yet throw it away. I only weighed at doctor's appointments. I don't own a scale and I intend to keep it that way. This surgery does work, you WILL see results!! -
8 Lb Weight Gain Two Days After Surgery?
7carol3 replied to txgirl36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be a slave to your scale! You should just wait until your follow up appointment with your doctor to weigh. Don't weigh yourself everyday, it just messes with your head. This journey is mentally challenging enough without adding this to it. -

Weight Gain Two Days After Surgery

And don't be a slave to your scale!! I always say it and I truly mean it. DON'T WEIGH YOURSELF EVERY DAY!! It just plays games with your head. -
What Is Your Favorite?

I love being able to wrap the bath towel around me and it fits too, not the jumbo one either! I also love that I don't HAVE to use the handicapped bathroom stall in public restrooms any more. I fit in the standard bathroom stall without any problems. I love finding my hip bones after all these years. I love wearing cute clothes and shopping for them some where besides the plus size section of the store. I love not needing the tilt steering wheel option on my car any more. Oh Lord, I could go on and on! -
Totally agree!! You're gorgeous, flaunt it!

Why not brag? Don't you deserve it? This is THE place to come and brag. Here we understand (for the most part) what it feels like to hit an NSV and want to shout it from the rooftops. Not many people in our everyday lives understand that. I say brag away my friend!!

I chew gum every day. I was told I shouldn't but it hasn't been a problem for me.

I use the box stuff and do it myself too.

Whats Worse Child Birth Or Vsg?
7carol3 replied to imworthit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay! That is totally my advice, don't let that scale rule you!! (sorry off topic) -
I did color my hair. I didn't notice that it caused more hair loss, in my case. Now that I am nearing the one year mark and having NO problem getting my protein in, taking the biotin & a hair/nail supplement, I see less and less hair loss. Just colored it last weekend. I have colored 3 or 4 times since I was sleeved. Again, everyone is different, this was just my experience.

Everything I read when I was at my hair loss peak said not to. I did! I am too young to look like my mother!! I am not telling you to do it but I am telling you that I lost a lot of hair (used to be really thick, naturally curly) and I continued to color my roots and even did one all over color treatment.

My doctor said two weeks for pretty much everything so I would say you're almost there. I guess if you're in the mood give it a shot, just my opinion.

I was sleeved 11-14-11 and I still haven't eaten mac & cheese. No plans to.

Whats Worse Child Birth Or Vsg?

Heck no O.T.R.! Child birth was fun...vsg was fun with a slice of cake. FF and SF of course! -
Probably A Random/weird Question...
7carol3 replied to Huntingnurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nannous, three weeks is still pretty fresh out, that could be why your feeling sluggish still. Are you getting your protein in? Taking your vitamins? Getting enough rest? If all those things are in check then I only have two other ideas. Exercise can sometimes give more energy. If that doesn't work I would inform your doctor and see if he/she feels it is normal. Good luck! -
On My Way To A New Beginning!
7carol3 replied to mgsmith72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My two week diet was SF popsicles, SF pudding, pureed and strained soups (nothing with chunks), protein shakes, SF jell-o, light or FF yogurt with no fruit chunks in it. I pureed bean soup to try and up my protein because I hate the protein powders/shakes. I searched for soups with the most protein and fewest calories that I could find. I didn't mind pureed soup because it so closely resembled itsself. I was eating soup so my brain was OK with it being pureed. I could not handle baby food, my brain just couldn't over come that and I never ate it. -
I think I ate the SF Jolly Ranchers a month or less after surgery. I never asked about them, guess I never thought about it, so I don't know if it was OK. I tolerated them just fine and I still eat them. Just remember that SF candy/products can have a laxative effect if you eat too many. (Like 8 Jolly Ranchers over the course of the day, sorry TMI.) Just keep that in mind.

Probably A Random/weird Question...

Maybe not! You're head may be clearer just not having the "food worries" clouding your thoughts once you're surgery is complete. That may help you with your memory issues. -
