  1. Freshly grated Parmesan cheese can be made into cheese crisps. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, you may need to spray it with cooking spray too, and put one tablespoon of the cheese per crisp on the baking sheet (like cookies) and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Let cool and eat.

Need A Little Support Right Now

Kimmy, no amount of advice we can give will ease your pain but hopefully the support you get here will. I would suggest getting out and walking, preferably with someone you can talk to. Walk (or another exercise you enjoy) your stress out. It does help me sometimes. The best of luck to you!!
  3. I just checked my carbs and they are CRAZY high compared to what your nutritionist said we should be consuming. I have fallen into the pop chip, rice cake, 90 calorie brownie trap. Here is what I notice. If I ACTUALLY sit down and eat a meal, for instance my turkey burger (no bun) with mini babybel melted on it for lunch, I was very full by the time I finished it. Yesterday I had cottage cheese with a little fruit and snacked like a mad woman. Today, right now, I don't feel like eating everything in sight. I am interested to see what comments you get on this subject. I need to go back to making those Snacks a treat and not an everyday thing, I know that. If I can't get away from them then I'm going to have to ramp up my exercise even more! Good luck to you though! Oh and I'm still jealous of those bikini pics.

Who Here Can Eat Rice Comfortably? Anyone?

I'm 7 1/2 months out and I can eat a couple of tablespoons of rice without any problems. I could probably eat more I just want to make sure I have room for my protein. I guess with sushi you would wrap it all in one.

    Just Say No

I've not been told that, better double check. Thanks!!

    Just Say No

Yay! I wasn't much for the pain meds either. Didn't take anything but ibuprofen once I came home. Good luck with continuing your quick recovery!

I had lost about 15 pounds on my own by this time, with help from the dietician.

    Hair Loss?

I also have hypothyroidism. I had surgery in November. My hair was pretty thick before hand. It is very thin now but I have never been close to bald. I worried I would be by seeing all the hairballs in my brush and in the drain. (so gross, sorry!) I take a biotin supplement that I get over the counter in the herbal supplement aisle. I lose A LOT less hair now at 7 months out, mostly due to having no problems getting my protein in I think. I don't think you will be bald for your wedding. I have read a few threads about hair loss but I personally haven't seen anyone complain about actual baldness. Good luck!!
  10. Too flipping funny! I love it!!
  11. Don't be embarrassed, it worked for you. We can only do what works for us, no shame in it!!
  12. GREAT job! I admit it, I'm jealous. I don't even look good in a two piece that covers everything because of all of my loose skin. I agree with Lissa, you did a great job toning. Here's a new exercise, pat yourself on the back...you deserve it and we don't do it enough!!

I am crazily waving to a friend of mine who was actually in the parade taking pictures of the spectators.

Parade - 6 months after surgery

I had lost 105 pounds at my six month appointment. My surgeon did say I was ahead of the curve and I probably wouldn't lose much more and that it is normal to gain between 5 & 10 pounds back by the 1 year mark.

    No More Weightloss?

I know exactly where you are, mentally and physically. You're doing it right, I promise. You just need to be patient, which is SO HARD, I know!! Keep your head up. You are on the right path.

    No More Weightloss?

First of all, remember that this battle is a mental journey as well. I think we ALL go through these periods where we feel we aren't losing weight and get depressed. I recommend getting rid of your scale and using clothes as a guide for weightloss instead of focusing on numbers. (not a popular suggestion, FYI) Numbers can be MEAN! I worried for the first few months that I wasn't doing things right. Sounds like you are doing what you can. As long as you are following doctor's orders I'm sure you will be getting what your body needs. I think we all need to keep our minds just as busy as our bodies to achieve our goals.

    Just Wondering...

Patting ourselves on the back is an exercise I think we all need to take up! We are all doing some amazing things and I don't think most of us give ourselves enough credti. You're doing great, pat yourself on the back!!

    Shakes, Shakes, And More Shakes!

The good news is I haven't had a shake in ages! You may get bored for a bit but it is totally worth it. Just remind yourself of that. I don't think most of us ever get over the thoughts of having our old favorites. Once you are post-op you will find that some of them don't tickle your fancy nearly as much as they used to. I used to eat dill pickles by the jar. I barely eat them at all now and I don't crave them. When I go out to eat with my hubby he orders French fries and I eat 3 of his and then start on my grilled chicken salad with no dressing. (only because I am picky about my dressing...not that you can't have it) Once you have learned what your new stomach can and can't handle you will be amazed how things change. We can all eventually eat the things we love, in moderation. We have to remember to eat to live not live to eat.

    Frustrated

I really can't stress it enough...DON'T KEEP A SCALE AT HOME!! It is so self defeating! I cannot handle to have one near me or I will weigh myself multiple times a day. I am nearing 7 months out and I have only weighed myself once when I wasn't at the doctor's office. I use clothing as my guide. I bought "goal clothing" and just kept trying it on. Before I knew it I had to buy new goal clothing. Just follow your doctor's orders as closely as possible and I'm sure you will see suprising results before you know it! Keep your head up!!

    Cooking For One.

That's a good tip! I have a family to feed but I still find myself "cooking for one" because I don't generally eat what they eat.
