    Any May Sleevers Here?

Yeahhhh!!!!!! It's finally here! I am a sooner to be sleever! I have to be at the hospital at 6:00am......I guess I better try to get some sleep. BTW, I lost 28 pounds on my two week pre op and I didn't cheat at all, which is a miracle in itself for me..... See you guys on the other side........
  5. Thank you so much for your honesty. I have my surgery tomorrow so at least I have a realistic view of what may happen. I hope you are doing better now.
  6. Cookies, (lol....love the name) I am just like you. I had my seminar on March 29th and my surgery is in two days, May 22nd. At first it seemed like surgery day was taking forever but in the last couple of days everything seems like it is on fast forward. The thing that took me the longest was my psych visits because I had all other necessary paperwork done. The psych figured that I need three visits before surgery, otherwise I probably would have had a sooner date....now I am dealing with pre op jitters....
  7. It seemed as May 22 would never get here but now I have three days left and I feel like it came too soon. I have lost 28 pounds during the pre op diet and I sometimes think that maybe I should have tried a clear liquid diet before. But hey I already know that I would have put back on twice the weight when I had finished with it. Anyway, I have five kids ages 15, 12, 11, 8 and 7 and I am trying to make sure things are in order for them and my husband before I go in. It is getting overwhelming because my energy level has been zapped due to the liquid diet. I am going to keep busy until my day comes. I truly appreciate the frankness and honesty that has been given in this forum. It has given me a lot of education and motivation. Thank you guys!!!!!

    Starting To Back Out

I too have my surgery on Tuesday and I understand how you feel. Sometimes I ask if I am being selfish with this decision. What if I don't come out? How will my husband handle our five kids? So many thoughts and questions go on in my head but I try to take a deep breath and think about all the reasons I decided to do this in the first place........we will get through this mama. We are going to be sleeve twins....

    Why Am I So Cold?

I have been on my pre op diet for two weeks and I am freezing all the time. My husband laughs and says "Now you know how I have felt all of these years." He says I would always make him cold by having the windows open or having the AC on high. Boy am I paying for it now.

    Second Thoughts...

I like you am having surgery on May 22nd. I know exactly how you feel because I weighed 278 on May 5th and today I weigh 249. I know of course that it is due to the pre op liquid diet that I have been on for almost two weeks. The thought has gone through my mind several times...." Oh, Andi, you can do this without surgery" but then reality hits me hard and I remember the numerous times that I have lost and gained back plus some.... I am going into this surgery with a positive attitude and I am fully ready for a more permanent change.......we only have a few days to go.......

    Any May Sleevers Here?

Seven days to go for me....Is May 22nd ever going to get here?? I have been on the pre op diet since the fifth and all I want is a simple dish of Puerto Rican rice and beans and chicken...... Or maybe a Philadelphia cheesesteak....or maybe, oh forget it, let me go eat some sugarfree jello.......

I truly hope you feel better soon. I am sure you will be fine
  14. Trueme, I am glad you mentioned your sugar levels because mine were low today too. I am on byetta. I will call my doc tomorrow.
  15. Trueme, I hear you loud and clear. I actually started mine on Saturday because I didn't want to be extra cranky at work. So far so good. Plus my nutritionist gave me two good recipes that I love. She told me to freeze vanilla protein shake and make ice cubes then add diet orange soda or diet root beer to it. It is delicious. I am having fun trying new things. Did I mention that on Friday I couldn't eat my whole cheeseburger from five guys......... So much for my last meal.....May 22nd here I come!!!!!!
  16. Amytuggle, I know exactly how you feel because I have five children myself, my husband and my mother. Unfortunately, my mom is not supportive of the surgery and my husband is on the fence. I have done my research and been to specialist for my asthma, sleep apnea, diabetes and even a cardiologist. All agree that the surgery has minimum risk in comparison to the benefits. Take a deep breathe and remember why you wanted to do this in the first place. Say a long prayer and keep a positive attitude. These are things that get me through the "down" days. My surgery is May 22nd. I am taking one day at a time and believe me the words and support from people like Lissa, MomScholar, nraeh and others have been greatly appreciated.

    Any May Sleevers Here?

Leesakake, I am sure we all would like to get back to a normal routine as soon as possible but some people have jobs that are laborious and need more time off. I am only taking two weeks myself. Plus financially I can't do lot of time off.

NurseVane, I am at a hospital also. I do the overnight shift. My nutritionist told me to have something before I go in and to have a protein drink while at work. Plus you need to keep drinking water and crystal lite. We will get through this
