Question! So on August 17th I will be going for my VSG. I've come across many post talking about the infamous "liquid diet" before their surgery takes place. Is this something that everyone must do before their VSG? When did your office give you your diet? I received my date on 7/12 and haven't heard anything yet. So I'm just curious to know, did you receive a pre-op diet and if so how soon? And Yes I know every dr is different. Thanks for the feed back. xox

Hello Darlings! So Tomorrow is the day I finally meet with my surgeon! The countdown is on baby! LOL...I'm ready but nervous. Do I receive my surgery date during the consultation? What should I expect? Any feedback will be great! Thanks in advance.

Hi Susan!! Yes I have my date Aug17th. My new life starts! Question? When did you receive your. pre-op diet? I went in got mu date and paper work to fill out for day of surgery & that's all. Let me know. -

Well with my surgeon all of those things are done before we can even been seen by him. So my blood work, meetings(4) with my NUT, mental evaluation and my insurance covers it. So I'm at the finally point. It's been a journey since Feb 16th! Good luck to u as well!

Hello, For those of you that had your procedures done in Mexico how will you conduct follow up visits? It seems like those that have had their sleeves done in the states had to see the dr a week out. Also for those that had their VSG done in the states how often do you have to go back to see the dr?

So today I picked up my support letter from my pcp! It's clear and straight to the point; She supports me, thinks that I am an excellent candidate and deemed it as a medical necessity! I had my psych evaluation last Friday she loved my positive vibes and wanted me to be a leader of a support group. LOL. Next week I meet with my nut for a final time! Then I'll meet with my sugeron to get a date. I am ready. I know I will have a love hate relationship with mu sleeve due to this whole lifestyle change. But I am ready to drop this weight. Get healthy! I have been researching WLS since 09 and the lord has finally blessed me with the chance to get it done. He (Lord) may not come when you want him but he is always on time. Amen! I pray that everyone aiming for a date this month next month or even this year gets approved and have a successful journey with their sleeve. Until next time. Xo

Hey Guys & Dolls! After you were approved for your WLS by your insurance how quick did you receive your date? I need to get a June date but I still havent had my psych evaluation. Which I have to pay out of pocket for. Everything else is ready to roll. *sigh*

Girl Right! I had my interview today and landed the Job! But I asked if they planned to have another class next month, I'm set to start June 22nd. So I asked about a July/August. Lord if they do great! And yes I need a JOB bad as heck too! *sigh* I just pray everything works out. I want to have the VS before my 30th bday in Nov! Well good luck to u babes.

Oh ok, bcos I'll be just starting a new job and my benefits don't kick in until 1 of Oct so I'm trying to figure how much time I would need off if I don't have disability. Thank you.

Hello All- Newbie to the site...Well I've had my page for a few months now...but I've been more of a reader than a commenter. Ok so my question-I keep reading horror stories of sagging skin. I am AA 5'5 280 and 29. No Kids. My skin is tight. Is there anyone who's had the VS with the same stats as myself that can give me an ideal of how their skin reacted? Is their anything that can be done in advance to prevent or decrease the chance of sagging skin? Lastly I've been a big booty girl all my life. I became over weight late teens until now. My mother has hips and butt. Has any former big booty girls lost their lovely lady lump? LOL..Bcos I am sooo prepared to do my squats! Any feed back will be great thanks.

I am confused. Are you saying that your insurance is requiring it to be medically necessary inorder for you to get the VSG? If yes can't your pcp write your support letter saying that it is a medical necessity that this survey been done? I'm lost. sorry -:/ Bcos if they approve you for either of the two u listed (yes I know the sleeve is new) but still why can't you be approved for sleeve....hopefully someone else can chime in and bring clarity to this scenario.
