Some Advice One Week Out

I had my belt tummy tuck December 12th. I am supposed to have all four drains and staples out tomorrow. I still hurt quiet a bit. Yes, I too, have the emotional thing going on. Some days are great , others, I try hard not to cry. Must be hormonal. My drains are 2 on each hip. I have to drain them and keep up with how much is released. Today, I hurt really bad when I breathe in behind my belly button. Have anyone had this? I go back to work January 6. Please tell me it will be much better by then. Overall, I am very satisfied with the results even though I'm still swollen. I originally lost 165 pounds before getting this tummy tuck. I don't think anyone can truley be mentally ready for something this major. When I take a shower, I wear my underwear and put the drain bulbs in them. I would love to know how you are doing or if you have the pain behind your belly button. I ran fever last week up to 102.8 which he put my on antibiotics. No fever since then. -

My feelings got hurt Tonight

People do treat you differently. I am just now allowing a man to open a door for me. When I lost about 100 lbs, men started stopping and holding the door for me. It infuriated me. These were the same men I saw every day at work at my highest weight and never even considered doing that. The one person I always wanted a compliment from was/is my husband. Since the day of surgery he has not complimented me not ONE time. I am down 161 lbs and 4 lbs from my goal. I always looked at the floor when walking down through the mall or being in public in my mind begging people not to look at me I was so self conscious. Now that I raise my head up and look around, I see so many people that are skinny with their heads down. When it comes to self confidence, there is no certain size or weight, only how society treats you. He probably took out his own low self esteem and took it out on you. You are changing your body the way you want and he may not be able to due to money or something else. You were his target for the day to take the focus off of himself. You are a beautiful lady and I can only imagine how beautiful your smile will be with your reach your goal. I wish and pray all your wishes come true. -
Shaving armpit - silly but serious question
Looking Ahead posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 lbs from my goal weight and I'm running into issues shaving. When I was heavy, I had no problem shaving under my arms with all the fat pushing the skin out so it was a smooth shave - now..... there is a caved in area I have tried to reach for weeks and cant. Glad no one is watching me in the shower twisting turning and bending my arm so I can shave. Instead of one hand shaving one armpit, it now takes two and I'm still not doing a great job.. any suggestions? -

I've lost 155 lbs in a year and have alot of saggy skin. I went to the plastic surgeon in my town yesterday for a consultation. Just for the belt stomach area and hospital cost is $11,100. To do the arms and inner thighs later is the sames price to have them done together. I've been pretty depressed and down since. My insurance will cover only the "overhang" on the belly below the belly button. Which would still look horrible. I've been to two banks for loans and my only option is to put up my truck that was just paid for this past year or take out a second mortgage on my home. I could use some ideas. I did schedule the surgery for the middle of December so to hold my spot. Does anyone know how much it is to go to Mexico to do this and does that price include the hospital? How much is airlines, hotels and things like that I would need? I'm at a lose. I thought I was so close to done and now I feel I will never be completely done / complete with my body and life.

Arkansas Body Contouring Physician?
Looking Ahead posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Does anyone know a good plastic surgeon in Arkansas? I live in Jonesboro, AR but will to travel to Little Rock or anywhere in Arkansas to a highly recommended dr. I have Blue Cross- Blue Advantage insurance. I've lost 150 lbs and about 15 pounds from my goal. -
I went through a spell of light headed...that led to falling alot and that led to an overnight stay in the hospital. It was 6 months out. I was dehydrated and my bp and potassium is low. I;m on low BP meds now and potassium every night in pill form that dissolves. I still get dizzy but I know I'm not getting enough water. Up your water intake and see if it helps.

June 2013 makes one year out. Down 140 lbs. ive been in a stall for over a month now. Even though zive lost so much I feel I will never get to my goal. I originally set my gosl at 175. Eould love to be less but realistic. Im 5'8 and wear a 12/14. I did wear s 24/26. I think after skin removal I might be a size 10. That was my goal size when I started. Some days Im just as self concious at this size because of saggy skin as I was at 340 lbs. Anyone else feel this way?
-
Im in the same boat..started 240 and at 198 now. My eating habits are awful and no exercise. I need motivation to get back on track.
