Scared After Pre Op Appointment
Looking Ahead replied to cosmogirl70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had depression before the surgery and the first 3 weeks were REALLY hard, but you can get through it. Hang in there. I thought I had screwed up royally but I am so glad I went through it. I talked to my dr and he explained that the deaths related to the surgery are the high risk patients that already have an underlying health problem that they will discuss before the surgery. As far as acid reflux, I have never had heartburn and have it now but was told by my dr's nurse it will get better over time. My body is still adjusting. I recommend you not do the surgery until you are comfortable. There is a difference in comfortable and scared. I would set up an appointment to meet with the nurse and discuss your concerns and let them answer all your questions. This is a huge life changing surgery. It isn't for everyone but is a miracle for others. I was TERRIFIED the few days prior and mortified the night before....When I woke up the next morning, I was ready for surgery and its been no turning back since. Vent on here as much as you need. Lots of great people on here. I will be saying a prayer for your worries to be less and for you to have a good nights rest. Hugs  -

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. My husband is overweight but nothing like me. He is 6'7 about 260#. What I eat is always on the go. Its usually whatever i can throw in the microwave or eat on my way to work. I wish they gave classes on cooking and eating after the surgery . -

90 Lbs Down
Looking Ahead replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My hair started falling out last month really bad and I started eating more protein...got a shorter cut and its doing alot better. I feel so much better. Today I ran up two flights of stairs and back down and wasn't out of breath. My husband thinks I look sick and likes the first picture I refer to as the fat pic. I don't know what to do to make him see how much happier I am. I couldn't get attention from him fat and now I find out he likes me better that way. UGH. I'm not going back ! -

I cheated on mine for the last 5 days before surgery. I watched what I ate but just didn't use the "powder" they sold me to eat. I still lost and I fine for surgery. Don't bet yourself up....start over right now. -

3 Months Out And Down 81 Lbs !
Looking Ahead posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never thought it would go so fast but glad it is. I was stuck at 261 for about 4 days and yesterday I took a Fluid pill for my swollen feet, Got up this morning and was down 4 pounds . That put me down 81 total pounds since the pre diet. I still can't eat much. Maybe 2 grilled chicken nuggets or one pkg of grits. I/4 of a can of Soup. I did wake up with a charlie horse twice last night so I got up this morning and started drinking my green tea. I LOVE mixed berry green tea. Down from 24/26 3x/4x to 18M - 20 W depending on the name brand. Some 16's in dresses.. I want to be at my goal by Christmas and I do see it doable. -

At what time is the right time for skin removal? I've lost 84 lbs and have sagging skin on my arms and legs ( feels like cottage cheese) sorry- I want to lose another 70 lbs. How do I know when its time and do they do arms, legs and stomach all at the same time or do you have to have several different skin removal surgeries?

I felt that way about 3 weeks into the sleeve. But now, its getting better. I can eat what I want, just not as much. Hang in there it will get better

A Little Loose Skin - Can It Be Toned?
Looking Ahead replied to TMyers1471's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I've lost 84 and have the same problem. Worried about looking horrid for a year after I lose the weight and weighting for skin removal. Also, the saggy soft skin under your neck. -

Yesterday I Wrote About My Charley Horse...
Looking Ahead replied to Marty McSkinnystein's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually walk it off...most football coaches carry mustard packages to the football games. When a player gets a cramp, they squirt it in their mouth , it shocks the body and causes the muscles to relax . I haven't tried it myself. Also a hot Water bottle helps or heating pad.
