Ahhhhhhhh, Loose Skin Everywhere
Looking Ahead replied to Catracks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Im right there with you. I love the weightloss but hate the "naked" look. I feel like a starving elephant when I look in the mirror. My knuckles aren't saggy. May be due to my job. I work in an office when I type close to 7 hours a day. I can pull skin up on my fingers but its not noticeable. I've been going over my insurance website this morning - I read a year ago it covers skin removal after surgery but can't find it online now and they don't give out books anymore. Anyone else know? Joint Replacement Surgery post VSG
Looking Ahead replied to slnrtcv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I need both knees replaced. My Ortho dr is waiting on the go from me. I'm holding off till I am at my goal weight. Till then, I just get shots about every 3 months that last about a month but worth the month. I'd love to hear how yours goes. -
3 days post op.. WHAT DO I EAT?
Looking Ahead replied to Back2Me2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Egg drop soup was my favorite and filled me up. I also ate thin gravy, yogurt, fruit juices, bouillon cubes. Hope this helps. Good luck. -
I've lost 125 lbs in 6 months and I do have excess skin. Under my arms, belly and thighs. I don't exercise either but when I get home from work, I rarely sit till bedtime. Constantly on the run. I plan on having skin removal. My insurance pays 80% after weightloss. I would love to see some before and after skin removal photos. I don't mind the scars, but worried they won't take all the skin and it will still sag and look gross...defeating me having the surgery for more self confidence along with being healthy.

Thanks everyone. I eat small snacks throughout the day and "try" to get water in when I can. Otherwise, I drink US tea and coffee. So far its working. I try to stay under 800 calories a day. -

Down 123 in 6 mo but getting concerned..
Looking Ahead posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I am very proud of being down this much...I went from a 26W to 14R Levis this week. From 338 to 215 today. Heres the concern..when I stress lately, I crave chocolate. I have never really had a craving for any type of chocolate. I would be fine with one candy bar a year....if that. Now, seems like when I'm stressed to my limit, I want everything bad for me...cokes, chocolate, cupcakes, etc. I know I don't need to have theses items but at times , I feel I have no control over it especially when I see some type of candy left over from holiday parties or what I have bought for the rest of my family. Any suggestions? I am still losing but I know this is why it is slowing down. I can tell I've been under so much stress lately, my depression is getting bad again. It was getting so much better I was going to ask to half my meds again...two more halves and I'm off the medication. Wellbutrin. How do you handle the stress and cravings for sweets? Could my hormones be changing due to the weightloss? I've had a hysterectomy but never been on hormone replacements other than trial and error the first few months after surgery. I have always been fine without them. Also, TMI.....my sex drive is slowing down again. It was up for a while but seems to be down again. I think it started low because of my weight, now its low because of the excess skin- How do I deal with this.. I set my first goal for 190...but I want to change it to 150 when I reach 190. Any advice is appreciated. angie -

That might be a good idea...try to maintain for a while. I do cook but usually just meats for my son and husband. I do have high expectations for myself. I'll try to look up the cookie recipe...Thank you -
If you miss the chewing...try some Sonic ice with Crystal Light for flavoring or lemon juice or try a Popsicle. Im 6 months out on Christmas day. I eat pretty much anything I want in moderation. I can't eat alot no matter what I get. I usually order the kids meal or $1 menu items and throw away the bread. I also get carry out chinese...usually costs about $2 for what I can eat . Egg drop soup would be great for you right now. Its filling and tastes great ! Keep up the good job.

Surgery tomorrow...
Looking Ahead replied to Heather86 :o)'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is hanner2009's mom...she had the surgery Monday and got home tonight about 6pm. She's having a rough time and alot of pain. Please say a prayer for her. I pray all of you are doing well also. Good luck to you all... PS, it won't hurt as bad if you can sleep in the recliner or sit half up on the couch with pillows and sleep. Also, use a heating pad on the drain area...if you don't have a heating pad...put a towel in the dryer and let it get warm...fold it to keep the heat in it and place where it hurts. Get up and down like you are 9 months pregnant...it won't hurt as much. All this is my experience. Hope it helps. -

I had mine June 25th of this year...my daughter is having hers in the morning at 730. You won't be hunger from the time you get up and your nerves start in. Everything will be fine but food as you knew it will be gone. Be sure to walk when you can to help with the gas pains. Eat crushed ice and try to drink your juices in the hospital. Rest alot...which Im sure you will. Use your pain button as much as you need it..its wonderful !!!! Good luck to you all and see you on the losers bench tomorrow. -
