Waking up with acid and vomiting mucus with blood
Looking Ahead posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've woke up three different times since I had my sleeve. The acid starts to come up and then goes down the wrong windpipe. It is horribly painful. I take Rx Prilosec morning and night. Last night it was so bad, it had me choking and running the the bathroom try to gag it out so the pain would stop. It was all mucas with bright red streaked. Not a lot, just enough to scare me. This happen to anyone else? If so, what do you do when it happens? -
Im 6 1/2 months out and lost 132 lbs so far. Yes, saggy belly, arms and thighs. It covers up good with clothes. I'll have the skin removal surgery later. I still have 36 more pounds I want to lose. The closer I get to my goal the slower its coming off. But I'll take it as long as it keeps coming off.

Waking up with acid and vomiting mucus with blood
Looking Ahead replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hadn't considered an ulcer. I've been under alot of stress lately. So much, they doubled my depression meds, added one to it and I had to take off work Friday just to try and calm down. Seems like when you tell a dr whats going on, they just want to write you a Rx...My pill box is full. -

Apple cider vinegar for heart burn. Is safe for Sleevers?
Looking Ahead replied to Russell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure about the vinegar. I don't see where it would hurt. It's used in pickles and other foods. My Dr prescribes Prilosec. I have taken it twice a day since the day after surgery. If I miss a dose...I can tell ! -

Thank you for the kind words. I keep reading them just to get through my day today at work. I feel and pretty sure no one wants ti visit with me because of this stupid pity party Im having trouble getting over. -
6 months out and I came to a free weekly church meal given at work. BBQs. I am so sick and can usually find somewhere and force it back out. No where to run today. Ive been so low and depressed lately that I feel I have hit rock bottom. I need relief from somewhere asap. Called the dr abt my depression meds but no response yet. I need.....something now to fix me. Im eating e everything in sight. Weights not goind down. More depressing. Anyone else experience this that can advise me? No therapists please.

Reconstructive surgery - skin removal
Looking Ahead posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does anyone have any before and after pics of having skin removed? Can you do arms, thighs and tummy at the same time? What have you done for the saggy skin under your chin? This is my year to have the skin removed ( later near Fall) but need input. What should I look for in a surgeon and what type of questions do I ask? Almost down 130 lbs ! 20 lbs from my first goal of 190 !!! Bought my first tanning package this week. Enjoying this smaller size -

Not to be disrespectful, but how can you gain the weight back? I'm 6+ months out and still can't eat much. Is it how much you are or what you ate? If you don't mind, I want to learn from your experience. Thanks, Angie -
How much do you have to lose? Those with a lower BMI and less weight to lose tend to lose slower. Also, you could be eating too much or not enough. Tweak what you eat. If you eat too little, your body will go into starvation mode and not allow you to lose. If you eat the high calorie foods, it stalls weightloss too. I tried something that worked for me for a while...sonic ice with lemon juice and very little salt for taste. Usually broke my stall. Best of luck to you. Don't be discouraged. The sleeve can't help but work.

Curious...why would a little firmer skin make a difference if it still has to come off? Will it make a difference in $$ or the outcome of how I look? Just curious. -

Im only 6 months out from VSG. I'm 20 pounds away from my first goal...then I would like to set another goal of 30-40 lbs. I wonder if you can do a full body lift all at the same time? -

I was about a month for little pills. If you can break them in half, you should be fine -

You are doing great too !! I have more clothes for you over here when you get home today. -
When I had my surgery in June of last year, I didn't set a short term goal for myself. I set it high for where I would like to "start" making goals. To me goals are optional. The weight I set for myself was not an option. It was a life altering number that would change my life, make me healthier, more confident, happier. If I could get to this number then I could set small goals to a "better" healthier person. I started at 338 at my highest weight from my home scales and set my number at 190. Today I am only 20 lbs from that healthier number. From there I'll set 10 lbs goals for myself. I can see the confidence when I look in the mirror today. Yesterday I wore a pair of spunky cowboy boots to work. I kept getting compliments on how they had personality! lol I would have never done that before. Boots, jeans and a shirt that doesn't hide my butt ! LOL I've went from a 26W to a 14/16 misses. My dream is size 8/10 and about 160 lbs. Who knows, sometimes dreams do come true. Maybe this is my year to get my wish !

How do you reward yourself?
Looking Ahead replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don't really reward myself and haven't since the start. I feel its like giving a toy to a kid to make them behave. Just doesn't make sense. Seeing my numbers go down on the scale is enough. If I run across something that fits at the store, don't get me wrong, I'm excited and will probably buy it. Rewards work for some people, just not for me. Good luck on your surgery and keep us posted ! Can't wait to see some before and after pics !! -
