    Resturant Card To Print Out

My husband and I went to Memphis today to shop. We slways have eaten at Texas Roadhouse when we go. I thought Id order off the kids menu until I saw it. It was hamburgers and hotdogs for the same price as a regular plate so I opted for the appitizer and asked they bring it with everyones elses meal. Price was about the same as a meal but less food and no worrying about take home. Thoroughly enjoyed 4 pieces of lemon pepper shrimp.

    Bruce Jones Jonesboro, Arkansas

Still having pain in my left side. Wearing a spandex style tank top under my shirts for support and that helps the pain. I don't feel comfortable enough to call Dr Jones about any pain after the last time I called him in pain. If it gets too bad, I'll just go to Urgent Care. I noticed I have tiny water blisters around the incision areas. Not sure if it is from the spandex or a reaction to anything. I have another appt with him in a little over a week. I don't eat alot...hardly anything. I'm down 13 lbs since surgery day. 49 lbs total including pre diet. I was able to get ahold of his nurse last week early and they called in a refill on the pain medicine. When is your appointment?

    Any June 25Th Sleevers?

I have started wearing a spandex style camo under my shirts. Saves a lot of pain the left side. With the shirts, it doesn't sit on the incision site. I bought two at walmart today $16 each. Lane Bryant carries Spank brand but they were 56.00 today when I checked. Penny's has some for $36. They are hot and I feel like I'm in a body suit but it cuts the pain in half. Hope you feel better soon. I use a heating pad on my stomach for pain and ice on my back muscle behind it.

    Water Blisters?

ok ok...will stop popping the blisters. I don't have any bandages where they are now. I did have them near the other incisions and removed all the tape. I don't see any near them now just around the larger incision that looks like a + sign. The spandex shirt keeps the pain in check due to the weight pulling on my incision area inside. Think it would be ok to put something over it and then wear the undershirts? I will call the nurse or leader of the support group Monday and ask. Thanks for the information.
  6. My largest incision has teeny tiny water blisters all around in about 2" out. Ive been wearing a spandex like tank inder my shirt- could that be causing them or is it just healing or should I worry? When I run my nails over them they just pop and slightly itch. Anyone else have this? 12 days out today.

    5 Days Post Op.....questions

Im 12 days out and every time I try to eat anything (even liquid soups) I have a sharp pain in my chest. I hold my chest and it goes away as quickly as it came. So frustrating. I assume this is normal. The only thing I can have that doesn't do this is water. Anyone tell me how long it will do this or putting off eating just prolong the misery?

    11 Days Post-Op

I told my husband how much I weighed last week. He looked stunned. He said he thought I weighed about what hedoes but I started about 80 lbs more than him now Im about 20 more than him. He doesnt offer encouragment or compliments. I think it shows how weak a man is. Me and you both are so strong to have taken charge of our lives ans body. For us to let themknow how much we weigh is only because we are confident we will lose it. Its almost like look at me and watch what im going to do ! Dont let him get you down. You alredy know you are beautiful inside and working on becoming the same outside playing a game you cant lose !! Sit back and smile at him knowing you already won and dont need his approval. This is for you and not him.

    Question About Drain

I was on this forum at least 10 times a day my first week. Members became friends and kept me sain knowing what I was feeling was ok both mrntal and physical. I never felt alone and there was always someone that was willing to hold my hand. If youre worried about anything or just need to vent this is the perfect place for it. Hang in there and take it hour by hour. It will get better I promise.

    Question About Drain

Did they run tests at the er for a leak? I was back in the er day 5 with severe pain. Mri an ct scan showed everything was ok. If you are concerned call you dr or nurse. Even a support group leader. You need to be reassured you are ok. It is normal to have these fears. I am still dealing with emotions 11 days out. Praying comport for you. Hugs, angie
  15. K, get the giglges out... Someone posted something about the heat and healing and thought I'd share something with everyone. My husband had a heart attack last year and works out in the heat. When doing physical therapy, he had a huge problem with chaffing on the treadmill after sweating at his job before he got there. One of the men suggested "Monkey Butt" powder. We laughed and went off to our tractor supply store and hung our heads as we asked if they had it. Thank goodness the clerk knew what I wanted before I got the title out of my mouth. Now, thats ALL we buy. It clears up chaffing and prevents it in one day, one use. We use it on our grandson. If he gets diaper rash, usually with one diaper change its gone. Use it on a regular basis and they won't even get it. For those who get the rashes and yeast infections in the folds of skin, under breasts and under armpits...you have got to try it. WalMart now carries it. I don't like the Lady Monkey Butt but do like the regular and Baby anti Monkey Butt. Anyway, with all this heat and just weight problems in general I thought I'd share my favorite secret. Its in a yellow bottle with a monkey on the front and you can find it on Facebook too. Im using it post surgery to help my belly stay dry in this heat since I'm wearing tighter undergarments to help with the pain and healing. Helps keep me dry all day.

    Monkey Butt Powder

Monkey Butt keeps me from getting the yeast infections now. About $4 a bottle. When you get a yeast infection, just put some on (works great when you go to bed) and within a few hours, you can see a difference. Glad I could share the tip. We only have this powder in the house...not even diaper rash cream for the grandbaby. We threw it all out and replaced it with the powder.

    Sandwiches

Stupid question...what is a sandwich thin... I don't think I've seen them. Is it a cracker or a type of bread?
  19. is there a scale where you work out to where you can go by their numbers and you'd be less likely to reweigh every day? When I workout there is a scale in the dressing room. Its digital and if I have the will power to walk by it, I have no choice but to wait on the weigh in at least one more day.

    A Bit Tired Day 4

Day 4 and 5 I cried most of the day. So many thoughts in my head of what did I do, where am I heading now and dang Im tired. Lasted about 3 days and seems to get better every day. I tried to get out and go somewhere or get sunshine when it got really bad. Someone on here suggested I rent a funny movie and open windows for sunshine and it did help and it will pass. I honestly didn't think it would. i'm 11 days out and if I sit too long, it creeps up on me still. So, I try to stay busy and active.

    Do Sleevers Absorb Alcohol Faster?

This came up at our last meeting here in town. You will get buzzed faster but the effect will pass faster too. They say it is a yoyo you don't want to make a habit of.

    Going Out To Eat

One suggestion from our support group this week was you can have refried beans from Taco Bell. I ordered a side dish and barely scraped the top and was full but my husband was able to eat normal and we just sat and visited. They are high in protein and you can have shredded cheese on them. Also, Ordering side orders like gravy or mashed potatoes at KFC and my husband had the buffet.
