What? Maybe I can change that to "I've thought about it too, but it doesn't last long enough to amount to much anyway. "

One of my weaknesses. But just one!? Great job! In the past I would have eaten the package. With milk. After a bunch of pizza.

Can you slow down Laura? Sounds like you're pushing too hard, maybe?

Exercise doesn't have to be miserable and in a gym. I enjoy riding bikes with my husband, going for brisk walks, c25k. When my ankles get smaller I'm hoping to get back into in line skating as well. LOVE that. If I work out outside, I do it at 5:30 am or 8:30 pm when it's cool and the world is quieter. <3 what if you add an exercise buddy?

amytug replied to wasabi's topic in Insurance & Financing
I had to gain weight. Got the whole thing started and decided I didn't want to wait 6 months (again) and got my surgery in Mx. -

I read that the protein in them isn't digested by our bodies. Don't they have MSG too?

I did it! It was easy peasy! Well all but that last three minute run- I kinda wanted to quit, I won't lie. But that's the beauty of any exercise you CAN persevere. And I did it!! Yay! It helps that it was nice and cool and taking it really easy is key. I could almost carry on a conversation the whole time!! I learned that taking the kids can be less lonely, but I missed the focus I usually get when I run. The quiet almost meditative part of the sport- no kids next time. Ps, large cemeteries are AWESOME for running. Noone around, perfect little roads and even very old little grass covered roads. It's quiet, some shade here and there. It was great. Plus, it's a location that actually reminds you why you're running. it was a nice night. Edited to add - I think the knee thing is a thing of the past. These fantastic shoes plus focusing on not rotating my hips when I run is working great!! Makes running easier too.

myfitnesspal and your opinion
amytug replied to laceeb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love mfp. Most people grossly under estimate their calorie intake when not journaling their food. I do have a loose calorie goal. Something I don't want to gk over but I don't mind of I'm under by a couple hundred. I can log the calories I've burned and I LOVE knowing that info. I like knowing how much Protein I'm consuming, carbs, sodium, etc. The way I see it, I'm different than people that don't have to track. I figure this is what I have to do for the rest of my life and I'm okay with that. I don't want things to get out of hand and I know I could without tracking, very easily. I also like mfp because I can look back through previous meals I've had to see when I lost well or to get ideas to eat. It's Also fun to have the support and camradery (sp?) of friends -
Dr. F. Garcia, 3 month update
amytug replied to fletcherette's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Very cool to read your update. I am 3.5 mos out also and a patient of dr. Garcias. I've lost a similar mount. -
Yep, outside. 5:30 in the mornings or at 8:30 at night because its hot and there's less of an audience at those hours. o.O Ill probably get a treadmill next year but or right now, no more spending. Surgery an hospital bills from after are too much right now.

Lol I changed my heart rate monitor info to reflect the small amount of weight I've lost since initially setting it maybe three weeks ago. Now when I work out, I'm burning about 20 calories less/workout so I'm having to do about 25% more to burn what I was burning. Does this seem right? I suppose it could need a new battery. This makes me really wonder how people woh lower bmi's than myself are burning over 1,000 calories, several days a week. Mind= boggled. I really push myself last the point that I want to quit, so these people must be dragging ass. Right? Where are you guys!? How do you do it!?
-
Do want you want, but it's gonna look silly if you enter that you burned xxxxx calories doing life.
-
Rofl!! Well my app jumped me from 1.5 minute runs to 3 minute runs. What the heck?! I'm skeer'd. Ill let you know how it goes.

Five months out, down ~80 lbs, but getting dizzy...
amytug replied to rmeofone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard about this a bit, both times were from men actually. Hopefully they'll chime in I was almost blacking out. Potassium supplement seems to be helping. -
I feel it's very accurate. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't. . When I was logging a certain work out into MyFitnessPal it said 107. When I got my heart rate monitor I did the same work out and it said 105. I do believe it works perfectly. I mostly wanted it for things like walks, C25K, and strength training. Also manual labor. I love it. I didn't know any of them synched to mfp. I wrote above that I just add my calories burned, activity type and minutes manually on the mfp phone app.

I use it in my Protein balls and in a recipe called "sugar free Sheila's pancakes" I use it very sparingly, but may make the protein balls today.

I felt perfectly safe alone in TJ. Every part of it.
