1st week pre op diet success !
amytug replied to TropicalGirl1205's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
How exciting for you! way to go for not cheating an 7 lbs!! I'm a week behind you. I don't "have to" start my preop diet yet, but I kindof want to, to get this show on the road already. I also don't HAVE TO drink liquids, I was told I can do a low carb diet for one week and hats it. Is it silly that I feel like I need to do liquids because so many of my sleeve friends had to suffer through it and I'm no specialer (hehehe specialer) than they are? Anyway, one week!! Have you been planning this for a long time!? -
Rofl! I lol'd and almost woke my husband up. I feel the same way! So your surgery is march first? Mine is the second, bet well meet up! I DODNT GET an email from ready 4 a change! Uh oh!

Marriage - I Don't Know If...
amytug replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
absolutely, 100% NOT!!!! I'm pissed that he would make you feel that way. Wether or not he said it with words, he's apparently led you to believe this way. Ugggh. It's not like you're doing this so that you can get into some mini skirts and hooker heels. You want to be the best version of you possible, and it's SCARY to get surgery. That's NOT selfish at all. -
Grazing a lot after dinner :(

also, I saw it on dr. oz, that warm tea helps.. supposedly what we are looking for is comfort (well duh) and warm things give uscomfort.. she suggested roibos *sp* tea, but I've never had it. I just pick up whatever herbal ones at walmart sound good.. I especially like the tension tamer tea (blue box with a dragon) and the sleepytime. I haven't tried a lot.. make sure they say caffeine free though, imo, because caffeine isn't super comforting to me. maybe this is a good idea for your post dinner munchies. -
I'm a little scared too. I have 6 children, and I was tucking my 3 year old dd into her little purple tinkerbell bed last night with her billions of stuffed animals that are strategically placed every night in the perfect spot, and started prayers... I started tearing up, knowing that I'm taking such a big scary step.. Not only the surgery, but Mexico, my first flights, the unknown. I'm not terrified, I'm actually pretty calm, considering, but I have my moments... I think in the end, we will be so proud of ourselves for overcoming what was so foreign and scary to us.... I am anxious for that part.. I'm excited to leave and go into surgery, but I'm REALLY excited about my new life.. (heres to us)

I have a habit of getting really excited about things I'm positive ill use, purchasing them, using them for 2 months and never touching them. Anything in life. Actually I had a treadmill about 5 years ago, and that scenario Happened. I think what happened was I just didnt know what to do, but I really want to do c25k and I'm not brave enough at this weight to do it outside. Now that I know about c25k, I want one again. What do you think?(I'm preop, surgery should be in 6-7 mos)

Oy! Well that's awesome! How are you changing your flights around so much? I ha a heck of a time finding one for 1-2 weeks so settled on march first.

Oh that's just so frustrating! Soon it will all be a distant memory, while you're thin and energetic. -
I can't believe it's been three months already! Thanks for the update and way to go!

Oh, fun! Hope to see you!

Premeire Protein Drinks from Costco - BEST EVER
amytug replied to IMWORTHIT2013's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
a review on sams club site. thought that was interesting.. going to get some. -
Amanda, I agree with you. I think it's some of it. Sometimes I send rough drafts from my phone. I know I should post from the pc but I keep at it on my phone. Sigh. I do somewhat believe in the "more hand holding" thing though, when you pay more. Anyway. For some, 10k isn't breaking the bank. For others(self), it kind of is. I'm glad we have other options. Go with your heart, jesser.

Jesser, I've followed your journey somewhat, and i think you should think about satisfaction rate and cost. With anything I buy, I don't go with the dirt cheap wannabe & I don't go with the top of the line best of the best either, and I didn't in this situation. (Well except for my blender, but it didnt set us back 10k either ) These are the prices I've seen. $4,500 Almanza $4,700 (about to go up in may) Garcia $5,500 pdl $7,500 ortiz at OCC $8,900 Alvarez and Aceves These are the ones I'm aware of and I could be off on prices. Basically, the more expensive choices are in big fancy hospitals and a lot of the cost is going toward that, not quality of surgeon necessarily. I think it'd be neat to have that be my experience, but honestly I don't want to wait Long enough to save that much $ and I don't think it's necessary. I'd rather buy my daughter braces, etc. I have 6 children who need me. Not just one very special person that I love more than life itself, but SIX. This is not a decision that I made in haste. I haven't heard an oz. of negative about the surgeon I chose. None. Maybe a bit of old news about mi doctor, but it was so minor and the issue has been fixed. I've read over and over about happy patients, my surgeons bed side manner, my coordinators etc. and I'm positive that I'm in good hands. Honestly, yes, this is a very important life decisio,n but were not playing Russian roulette here. All of the surgeons I've read about are good surgeons, & it really boils down to your gut feeling and your heart. For me personally, I was had it narrowed down to two surgeons. dr. Ponce de leon and dr. Fernando Garcia. This was when I had heard that garcias price was raising by $500 which at the time would put them only $300.00 less than pdl. I still chose Garcia. It just felt right. I watched the videos of both if them over and over an just let my heart speak for me. Garcia or was. And THEN I found out thy aren't raising their prices until may. BONUS!!! Lol Pdl taught Garcia, Almanza and I believe kelly some techniques and for some that makes the feel safer going with pdl. Or me, I feel that that means they had a great teacher, not a crummy one. GREAT! Shrug Are you still able to go in march?

**count down*** Excited

I'm leaving 3 weeks from today, 3 weeks from tomorrow I'll be sleeved! -
I still wouldn't leave my children with someone who doesn't want to watch them. I can imagine. He wouldn't be very nice to then or he'd be nice bit they could pick up on his negativity. I'd never do that to my children.
-
Show him the door. Also, I wouldn't leave the kids with him if he's going to be bitter and resentful about it. that wouldn't be fair for them. I'd take a friend, aunt etc, leave mom with the kids and dump the boy.
