Thanks everyone. I decide not to go to the Easter thing after all. It's dh's family and makes me look bad but this isn't odd behavior for me, not showing up. They won't be surprised. I have been on antidepressants since I was 14. I went off just 2 weeks before surgery and my pcp told me to just call him when I'm ready for the meds. I can't afford a therapist. Totally wish I could. Our town doesn't even have any, so it's $20 just I get there.

I had 3/4 a Cadbury egg. Considering I usually eat at LEAST 15 a season, I'm not gonna beat myself up. It was delicious. And I didn't even WANT the rest of it. I call that a success!

Feel as though there is always something in my stomach and capable of coming up!

Def get ahold of your doc. Could be a lot of things. MrsG, try taking all that with a Protein drink or milk instead of Water on an empty stomach. Works wonders for me. -
Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
amytug replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Only 4 weeks out but I had complications. I'd still do it again. I'm glad I don't have to though. That first three weeks was hard!! -
I think we must have talked a LOT about food, because now that I'm sleeved (4 weeks) we just don't talk much. Also, and this is totally shallow and I'm working on it and praying about it, but: I can't stand to watch him eat. Not that I sit around staring at him, it just seems so constant. Part of it is probably kindof jealousy but mostly I just realize how much he eats when he's just bored or just because. He'll go in for more. And then more. And then dessert. And then dessert again. And I used to eat more than him!! Man. This "diet" really changes things. I don't like these feelings I'm having. And I really want to find new ways to relate to him. And my libido is close to zero. Probably because of the reasons listed above. Words of wisdom? Will this just change with time?

Could be lactose intolerance. Happens a lot after the sleeve.

20 pounds down at 4 weeks ? Why am I so darn disappointed
amytug replied to Kapu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe it's time to throw the scales out!? I'm apprehensive about tomorrow's weigh in too and it's actually making me cranky and anxious. I don't like these feelings so maybe it's time to stop weighing. -
Thank your girls for chiming in! I really appreciate it. I also noticed that I woke up SUPER crabby today. I'm stuffing it all inside and its kindof festering and I feel like I might explode. Darn hormones! I DO need to go for a walk. Then maybe ill feel like taking on all of today's tasks. I really need to poop. I think it's been like 5 days. I'm going to make a green smoothie today, those usually make me feel better about myself and feel cleaner and should get things moving. Lol I know dh isn't the whole problem. I'm also having air of emotions about exercise, the way my body is changing, wether or not I should weigh in weekly or monthly (tomorrow is wi day), these kittens I need to find a home for in a week and I SO wish it was this week but Not because they are bad, just because I feel like I have too much on my plate. Whether or not I should go on antidepressants(common side effect, weight gain), etc. I'm a mess. And I can't eat my emotions, so I'm angry that everyone else can go on like normal, eating. BUT!!! I really do loove my sleeve and I wouldn't have It any other way, so I'm pulling up my big girl panties and figuring this thing out. (Hug)

Op, the first few weeks are SO hard! Emotionally and physically. Several times the first couple months I thought I'd never be able I get my required Protein or fluids. How many times I regretted the surgery. Know what though? A friend told me that right around 3 weeks things turn around and they really do!! For me, the purée stage was a big turnaround! Now that I can eat with the family and I'm finally getting more fluids in, I'm a happy camper. I also put on a pair of pants yesterday that used to be tight and they were loose!! Woot! That helps. I really think you'll be like me soon, looking back at your first few days and giggling at yourself. But it is hard whole you're in it. -
I am almost 4 weeks out and I still love food. "/ There's an ap called "eat slower" that I use to time My bites. I also use baby utensils to remind me to take smaller bites. I was taking one too many bite until today, I seem to have gotten that under control, taking my time and really evaluating my comfort level between every bite. Sometimes I miss just scarfing down with abandon. But that's just stupid thinking. It's food, fuel, not fun. Although I plan to have so much fun with pizza one day.

How does this work? I'm 3.5 weeks out and I really dislike the shape my body is taking on as it loses quickly without exercise! I really want to start a cardio workout (walk at home) but I know from experience that's hat one makes me stop and slam down Water to make it through the second half. I can't do that obviously, so I'm wondering where that leaves me. Am I stuck doing resistance only until I can get my 48oz? I'm getting about 36 oz fluids. I don't like water anymore (I was a chugger), just started tolerating Protein drinks, choke down Gatorade. This is my biggest struggle as far as the sleeve is concerned. Please help, so that I can get my cardio too!?

I'm amazed at these posts sometimes! I must still be quite a bit swollen or just have a super short tummy because I just cant eat much. 3 weeks 4 days here and today I had 1/2 an egg scrambled, made site I got the pieces w the half piece of American cheese melted in. (Takes me 20 minutes @ a baby bite every 2 minutes) Skipped lunch because I just felt tight. Did have a Protein shake tho. 5-7 bites of cheesy broccoli I feel full enough to trick my head into thinking I ate seconds of all the food the family has. It's pretty awesome. But I'm still sad sometimes at the end of a meal that there is still food in my bowl. I'm happy though. After I'm sad, lol. Because this is what I paid for. Restriction. I sure got it!!! -

You look amazing! I had to do a double take, actually. So what kind of workouts do you do? What do you typically eat in a day? I hope you don't mind all the questions, it's just that I love to hear from those who have done this thing!! -
mexico sleeved and i dont know how to find a doctor in the us
amytug replied to lorena's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It's just blood tests as far as I know and your pcp shouldn't have a problem with ordering those. Where are you in mo? I'm near Columbia and I was sleeved in mx as well. -
I think that might be unrealistic for you and you should cut yourself some slack!!!! I have this weight range chart from my weight watchers days and the target for each height jumps 8 lbs. as you age. Hopefully this pic works.

6 Weeks Post Op, Come on Doc!
amytug replied to tiffy0485's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I. Just went through something very similar and im so sorry you're in the hospital and in pain under the dilauded. (Hug) Keeping a close eye on this. -
I've been to our crappy little er twice in the last week And also to my dr. All offered little help "Pancreitis" said one dr. X-rays and bloodwork. "Stomach bug, I'll give you these 2 medications for pain and stomach spasms" they did X-rays to look for a blockage. Bloodwork. "You just need to let your sleeve heal, I'll give you a script, it's gerd" Still, pain. New pain that's in my lower back. "Leak" I thought. Came to the real er instead of the wannabe one and they immediately did bloodwork and a ct scan w contrast and Iv contrast. I have blood clots in the veins that are in my intestines. Rare, especially for someone my age. So I'm in the hospital, about to start a heparin drip and I'll be here a while. So much for saving money by going to Mexico, huh? I'm glad I'm finally getting taken care of. Sure hoped I'd never have to post here.

Pantala I say the same thing. I did this to be healthy and now I just feel like an 80 year old woman, going to the dr. All the time and always having a new ailment. This too shall pass.
