What's on yours? I'm making one up for my walk/runs. Fast beats please. I have a lot of pitbull so far
  4. Ok I'm disappointed, not necessarily upset over this. I'd like to know the science behind this. I like to know how things work. So this week I was told that the "eat more calories and busy through a stall" thing is a myth. But why did I lose faster doing weight watchers eating about 1300 calories a day? Or vegan eating probably close to 1500 calories a day. Or Atkins eating a ton! (I know, Ketosis, but I lost slow in Ketosis on this 'diet' too. Now. I'm thrilled to pieces about the sleeve. For once in my life I feel like this is going to last. This is working. I just wonder why so slow? /rant Ps the last month I've lost 1.2 1.4 1 What the heck? On all 3 other diets I lost about 5/week. For weeks on end. Especially vegan. I remember getting on the scales every week and seeing a 6 lb loss. I'm working out a lot now and I was doing the same exercises then. It just doesn't make sense to me and I'd love to get all technical. This is making me wonder if I need more calories. Or if I need to eat more than 20 carbs etc. if I lost 3-6 lbs a week doing weight watchers, maybe I need to go back up to 1200 calories with a lot of Fiber etc. I feel confused.
  5. Exactly!! My panni goes left when I go right! I posted to fb that I ran. And then mentioned that my belly needs a bra.
  6. Well hot dog! I'm 3 most out and I've lost 42 lbs. Lookin good.

    Thinking about going vegan

I like the idea of it, but I'm nervous to start. I just got into a good rhythm (added complex carbs and upped my calories from 800/day to 1200 or less) and started losing good again. I'm also burning around 300 calories a day w exercise. wondering how easy it will be to get that Many calories a day if I am eating a vegan Diet. I'd almost have to eat a lot of spy which I hear is bad or processed Morningstar type stuff. We don't have a natural food store here in my town and the nearest one is pretty far away. We don't get to go very often.... It would be freeing not to have to track for a while at least. Or maybe I still would. I'm concerned Also, because a staple in my diet when I did this before was green smoothies. I tried one not too long ago and it made me feel like I had heartburn. I am on an antacid and I never have problems with that. So green smoothies are out of the question. Their gross anyway, I don't like the texture anymore. And I like to chew my food. I think I'd have to do lacto ovo or flexitarian. Gonna have to google that more. At least to start. If someone wants to do this with me for motivation, would you like to start June first? I will commit to one week and see how my weigh in and energy levels go. We can take it one day at a time. Maybe even start a thread- June 2013 vegan trial- friendships and tips or something like that.
  8. 3 years ago I started eating completely raw vegan and lost 60 lbs in 3 ( correction, 4) months. I lost faster doing that than weight loss surgery. Go figure. Anyway, I'm really sick of meat. Like really really and dairy isn't really my thing either. Craving nuts, Beans, bananas etc. I do take a daily multi Vitamin. My body misses real, whole foods. I don't want to go completely raw, but maybe vegan. I remember eating large quantities though, with a normal stomach, and don't know that I could get all that my body needs. I do track on mfp though, and could do a trial and see how it goes I just want/need opinions. What do y'all think aside (gasp! But your protein!!!! Because I believe we have to eat SO MUCH meat Protein to get our daily needs met because our body has to work so hard at breaking down meat protein and doesn't use it all, whereas with plant Proteins, our bodies use it all. Or most of it anyway. So either way, I think we get April the same amount. At least w a normal stomach. Plus, meat is so gross. All the crap put into the animals etc. and it's dead. Ew. Lol

    Avoiding burnout

I've been an exercise fiend several times in my life. Ill get really into it and about 3-4 months in it fizzles out. Well here I am, super into it and scared that ill burn out on it. I'm keeping it fresh and being creative with my exercise. Biking, walk/jogging, walk DVD, DDP yoga, t tapp etc. I use a heart rate monitor and love watching how many calories I'm burning an then challenging myself, etc. How else do you keep yourself from getting bored? I'm not joining a gym until winter, I plan on taking full advantage of at least the weekends in summer. Also, we can't really hike in Missouri. At least not near me. It's a bummer really. What's your thing? How do you keep motivated?

Love my sleeve: hate my body

Yep. wrinkly boobs, saggy wrinkly tummy, fat thighs with you guessed it, wrinkles. Bat wings. Sigh.

    Do you exercise?

Rees, Did you buy walk away the lbs with Leslie sansone? It's one of my favorites that I've been doing off and on for a few years When I first started, I did maybe 1/3 of it and stopped, laid down and started crying at how hard it was and how out of shape I was. I kept at it though and I can do two miles of it now at three months out. It doesn't take much time at all for your body to be able to do the moves with a little more ease and with more breath. I say stick with it. Commit to 6 minutes three times a day the first week. The second week commit to 8 and so on. One mile is only 12-15 minutes, you will be there in no time at all! An while you're pushing through and you feel your heart pumping, think about how good it is to get that muscle pumping!! How amazing you'll feel when youre a size 10 and moving. How good at it you'll be at that size. Please don't give up on the walking DVD , you deserve it! You could get some 2 or 3 lb weights and learn a few moves with those too. There's quite a bit less huffing with strength training. What about a recumbent bike?

    Goal Outfit?

I'm 3 mos out. I won't be doing this because knowing me I won't like the way the outfit looks on me. I'm very picky. I'd like to get a pair of sexy underwear though.
  14. I've been watching your numbers go down on mfp and was so happy for you when you hit that mark!!! So exciting about new shoes! Maybe I can talk dh into letting me get fitted when I hit 50 lbs lost or something. Until then, I'll work it out in my old shoes. Also, I never would have thought you were older than me. Your personality suggests early 20's.

    Im so hard on myself

So about a week ago I committed to keeping my net carbs under 22 and to get my 60 g of protein finally. I've made 2 desserts for my family (all healthy-ish versions of stuff) and I've skipped it all. Until tonight. Tonight I made banana bran muffins with nuts. I picked the smallest one and ate it. It was a whim and I realized that I hadn't waited 15 minutes after drinking. I also ate the muffin fast. Uhoh. This means its probably coming back up. And a few bites did actually. I also went and did a ttapp "hoedown" (on YouTube) for carb busting. I feel bad about myself a little when I eat junk on a whim. I mean here I am working out 4 days a week and trying so hard to stay low carb. I'm researching heartrate monitors and planning c25k when It warms up in central mo. What did I go and do that for? We're all human and we have to live in this world and we'll all have weak moments. Whatever. Now I commit to ONLY healthy desserts for the family.

    Shoveglove- the sledgehammer workout

I think I'll throw it into my "rotation" as something different and fun. I'm always looking for something new so I don't get burnt out! I'm smiling because you found it interesting! I'd love for you to revisit me here and let me know what you find out with reading. Good thinking on keeping the outside tools outside. I know on biggest loser they have a sledgehammer or similar and hot tractor tires for what seems like forever. That would be fun too and this reminded me of that. It's awesome how addictive exercise is. Today is my day off and I feel weird. I also want to eat a lot today. "/ not good. I'm fighting it.
  21. I love this and I think I'll try it when I get a sledgehammer! I saw it last year when I did the no s diet and thought it looked interesting. http://www.shovelglove.com/
  22. You all look fabulous! Gosh I hope my day comes!
