Societal judgement of "unattractive" versus "attractive" people - a topic on human nature

I'm glad you weren't totally put off by My pity party. I needed to vent/cry to someone and hubby is asleep. Y'all got to see a little bit of my ugly side. Did y'all ever have days where you just couldn't do it and felt like a turd? I couldn't believe I couldn't finish the run intervals! That didn't even happen on day one! It's because of that cadence thing tho. I'm not sure how I feel about this. So many feelings. Maybe I'm just having a weird night. I'm kinda ticked that it seems like other chubby runners can do this just fine and I'm too stoopit to run right. Lol

I had a REALLY bad running night. Couldn't finish hardly any of my runs, ran into and tried to avoid these two b*****s that were walking TWOCE. They made fun of me and I flipped them off. So mature right? Very unlike me, but I was in a really weir headspace. I do NOT understand chi running when put into motion. In theory, yes. I forget everything when I'm in the real world. I hope no one sent any books or DVDs yet because I'm really thinking about putting a pin in this one for a while, for my sanity. I. Just. Don't. Get. It. Ugh I sound like such an annoying crybaby. (I almost did cry tonight) I'd rather bike. That requires little to no thought. Or gym. Same. Why does this have to be so hard? I'm totally feeling sorry for myself. I think I'll stick to things I'm good at. Fiddle, ill pm you.

Louise, very informative. Ill just out myself here as the worst wife ever because I will NOT ever do this again. I don't even like swallowing my own phlegm. And it tastes better. Shudder*

I wanted to pipe in here and say to fiddle and bean, that I've been googling the heck out of chi running and practicing it (in the house, barefoot) all weekend, and I think I've mostly got it! Can't wait to watch the DVD and read the book to get more into it. My left knee is still hurting enough that I put today's run off until tomorrow, but I think it has finally clicked. Fiddle, you tried to describe the circular motion around the spine and I didn't get it. Lol. I watched a video with (is it Danny Dwyer?) where he was teaching people to take their feet around like they were riding a unicycle and that totally helped it click. I played around down my hallway and no knee pain! I like where this is going!! Just wanted to update. I'm still planning a trip to Ultramax, where they do gaitology. I'm pretty excited to see what my feet do when I run.

And this is what I'm talking about. http://www.activemotionphysio.ca/mobile/Injuries-Conditions/Knee/Knee-Issues/Pes-Anserine-Bursitis-of-the-Knee/a~346/article.html I don't expect anyone to read all of that, but that's the area I'm feeling the pain and it heals between each run day. It's just quite noticeable a few hours after- a day or two later. Ill figure it out, all.

Hey butter! I think it has something to do with the way I'm rolling my left foot off the ground because that big toe goes over quite a bit because of the bunion. I also tend to land on my forefoot more than my mid foot and in practicing in the house, I've found that that is when the knee pain hits. So more mid foot. I'm gonna get this. I'm not giving up Ill message you about the Dvds Oh also, so lunges and squats for quads and hammys? I read to strengthen the butt too, I've started.

I burned 899 calories today. It's 7pm and I'm in the negative. How is that even healthy? At what point are you exercising too much?? I'm a believer in eating the calories you burn while losing . That's usually impossible for weight loss patients in the first year or however long though. I dunno. I'm mostly wondering if you're in the negative, are you exercising too much? I should probably ask a "professional"

I think they might be a half size too big. My friend and I typically wear an 8 but I can sometime's wear a 7 1/2 too, depending on the brand. She says she buys her shoes a Half size too big to accommodate for her (milder than mine) bunions, and these were from her, so these are an 8.5. I might need an 8. Plan of action: pray, get fitted, read about chi running, run. If I still have pain ill go back. If that doesn't work ,ill go to the podiatrist. I appreciate everyone's input and tips and other help. Thanks so much!! Edit- I don't have flat feet. A normal arch.

No fair!! I need a cheap laugh too! You have a pm, fiddle. John, I've read a lot bout form and today was my most effortless run, so I thought I was doing good. I guess not as good as I thought. I have bunions, but its most pronounced on my left foot. My left knee is the one that's hurting the most and I'm wondering if my gait is thrown off by the bunions.? Would this problem be solved by orthotics in my sauconys or should I get fitted for my super special feet? ((Edit: reread- I had originally tea what you wrote as "you just need orthotics, you run funky", instead of "orthotics should help heaps if you can't get fitted. ")) About leaning. I do try. I have read to lean forward at the ankles and I'm really trying to understand what in the world that means for me. I think I'm doing it. I've seen the videos and try to do what he's doing. When I first started I was leaning at the hips. It was causing lower back pain so I started really trying to focus in the ankle thing Ill get this figured out by gollee!

I'm a little bit different. I'm absolutely IN LOVE with c25k and I've tried it in borrowed sauconys that had a lot of miles left in them and in my vibrams and my knee pain has gone from bad to worse. I'm really sad about this as I'm starting to think I might not be able to do this program any more and I looooove me some running so much I just bought the 10k runner app last night for $3.99. 10k! I really want to be a runner! Ran this morning and about 3 hours later, pain. I think I'll be hanging this up for a while. Maybe I need to lose more weight and work on strengthening and loosening up my muscles with squats and lunges and other knee/leg exercises. I'm really upset. I've not found another exercise as fun, freeing, and rewarding as this has been in the 4 days I've been doing it. It also burns a lot of calories in a little time. If anyone has any suggestions as to ways I might be able to continue, I'm all ears! I may see if our local high school has a track open during the summer and start doing that. I absolutely can't afford to get fitted and get shoes, dh has made that clear.
