I had my first fill on Monday, 5/21/2012. I am 4 weeks post op on today. When I was getting my fill you know when they ask if its going down ok I may have been so nervous that I told them I felt like I had to burp when maybe I didn't, I don't know. But I do know that I don't feel restriction like I hear in some of the post. What amount should I be able to eat without feeling restrcition. I can eat more than a cup and a half at a single serving and not feel any restriction. I am not scheduled for another fill until 8/20/12. What should I do??????

First Fill Today...burps, Burps, Burps
Cnewme2012 commented on Cnewme2012's blog entry in Cnewme2012's Blog
I was nervous and scared also, I think we all are when we face the unknown. However it was not painful and it didn't take long at all. They will numb the area where they are going to eneter the port. when they enter they will have you sit up and drink water and see if you are having any problems having it go down once the the fill they will make sure that you aren't having any problems swallowing and there is no pressure in the chest. and then its all over. You will do fine, I wish you much success on this journey - -
I had my first fill on today and I have been burping since I left the office. Had this happened to anyone??????

I'm scheduled for my first fill on Monday 5/21/2012. My doctor didn't tell me anything I needed to do prior to the fill, however I have been reading that you should drink plenty of water prior to the fill and that you should eat a liquid diet prior to the fill so your stomach will be empty. Does anyone know anything about this?????

Cnewme2012 commented on Cnewme2012's blog entry in Cnewme2012's Blog
Thank you for the information, I will look on the web site, and thanks for the information about post fill. I have learned through this process that we have to be pro-active about our health, ask questions, read, and research. Thank you again and I wish you much continued success on your lap band journey - -
I am having my first fill on Monday. I will be four weeks post op on 5/24/2012. However my incision site is still a little sore. Do you all think I should go ahead with the fill or since it's right at four weeks should I reschedule ?????

I'm eatting good, I just can eat more than the 4 oz servings that they say I'm suppose to have at each meal. I can probably eat 1 to 1 1/2 servings per meal -(:

I had my surgery around 9:00 A.M. and was released around 5:30 P.M., I would have rather stayed overnight but everything was fine. Once I was able to urinate I was released from the hospital. I went home and did quite well. Felt wonderful the next morning. I think I over did it the next morning because by the night I didn't feel as well. The lesson to this story is When you feel better do less -

The first three days after surgery I was on a clear liquid diet, which consist of, apple, cranberry, and grape juices, clear broth, I made chicken broth before hand and froze it in the baggies, sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello. This is all I could have the first three days after surgery. I actually did not have much of an appetite those first three days. After the three day clear liquid diet, I then progressed to full liquid. This is the stage where I began my protein shakes. I use an inexpensive brand from walmart, Body Fortress, its not bad. I wish you the best of luck on your new journey.

How to Eat Like a Bandster
Cnewme2012 replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Thank you for the reminders as well, because it is easy to assume if you are not following the rules exactly and nothing painful has happened then your are ok, but not realizing that you can be causing problems that may present themselves later on. Again I say thank you - -

That was such a wonderful post eyewonder, I felt exactly as you did. I will have to admit that I was nervous even after I had prayed and turned it over to God, but I know that we are human and its ok to be nervous. But I know that if I didn't do something that my health would be in jeopardy. I know that I am going to give this my best shot because if not then what else is there left for us to do. I will pray for peace in your spirit Mimi1980 and that you will have a successful surgery and a successful lapband journey -

I"m scheduled for my first fill on 5/21/2012. However my incision, I think where the port is located is still sore. I don't know to reschedule for a later date or will it matter if that area is sore. Any suggestions ????????? Good luck on your continued weight loss.

I had my surgery on 4/24/2012 and I can tell a difference now from the first week. The first weekl I would really be full and not able to eat any more that the 4 0z serving now I am able to eat the 4 oz serving plus, I have been exercising my will power and trying to get in all of my water. I'll pray for us both until we can get that first fill -

Anyone Has Ever Tried The Dukan Program Before The Lapband ?
Cnewme2012 replied to Dzire's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't try the diet but I did try the recipe for the Dukan pancake. Love It !!!! It Good luck !! -
Its been nine days since my banding. I feel well other than one of my incisions is very sore and painful. I don't know how anyone else is feeling is this normal or should I be concerned. I have my first Doctor's appt. on Monday. I also notice that I am able to eat more than initially. Before I would have my 4 oz serving and feel full, now thats not happening - I will not be able to get my first fill until 4 weeks post-op. Did anyone get a stomach band that was placed on you after recovery, and if so are you still wearing it or should I continue to wear mine?????

I'm So Blah I Don't Even Know What To Title This Blog.

You hang in there, I'm sure that we have all experienced those same two pounds that won't leave you alone. You just focus on all the progress that you have made in the past three months. Just think pretty soon those same two pounds will leave you alone and come over here and start bothering me or someone else -
