A good three weeks before I got more energy for me.

Why am I always STUCK and PBing?!?!
Skyvic replied to gotmyeyeontheprize's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would have it checked, or maybe a tiny unfill. I'm two years out, but last fill sent me over the edge a bit having some side effects and realized I was not ready for that little fill. -
We had our Christmas dinner on Eve. I ate everything that everyone else ate...but instead of a huge plate, I had just enough on a small salad plate and couldn't finish it all...huge change from 3 years ago. I love how my band stops me from eating more. It's tough at times, but it's there to remind me.

I've noticed that I am much more bolder in expressing my feelings to put it lightly. Is it because we have lost weight and we have a better self-esteem, maybe more outgoing? I'm generally happy but I can bite a head off at times! I am 45...maybe I'm menopausal Pre! At any rate I refer to the "calming down steps" I use with my preschool teachers and children. I guess at times I need to take deep breaths...

This has been a wonderful site in which we can take some advice, heed others, weigh the options, and overall respect each other's ideas. This has been helpful for me and has helped me not feel too alone in this great lapband journey! I appreciate all of those on this forum and thank you Alex. Merry Christmas and looking forward to another year of gaining knowledge!

Merry Christmas to all! We have much to look forward to as we reach out goals with our bands in eating right, exercising, getting our protein in, hydrating, and getting smaller and healthier!!!!!! We can do if!

I usually go to the gym at 8:30 or 9:00 at night...it's slower and I sleep better. Holidays are tough so I have to work extra hard to get my exercise in.

You will succeed with all these obstacles. Congrats on your weight loss! -
Oh yes! You will be amazed at the foods you test...once.
-
Congrats! Follow the rules and listen to your body. You will not regret.

The only good thing about not going home for the holidays is....

I had surgery five days before Christmas 2010... Beef broth, walked away from table was tired anyways just socialized with family....it was not easy. Now I can eat my one cup of food and yes I occasionally eat the goodies but I track all my food and stay within 1000 calories, exercise a lot around holidays more. -
Exercise atleast 3 times a week, my resolution with more veggies!
-
feel virtually no side effects from band

I'm two years out and I felt same way first month or so...then the fills became more often and the feeling if restriction became more apparent. -
Just realized I'm two years banded today. 10 pounds to goal at 163 now. Gotta start exercising more!
-
Aah yes! Merry Christmas bandsters!
-
I was denied for six more months but finally got the surgery. Discouraging but stay positive as you jump through the hoops.

Not good nutrition...I waited way too long...8 weeks...to get unfill. You need good nutrition to be healthy, even at a slower weight loss...it's ok!!!! I needed to eat so I could have energy to exercise! Just think about this, it took me some time to realize the weight loss is great, but not to compromise your health or a band slip.
-
It will be well worth it to live longer for yourself and more so...for your family. You will not regret this if you are overweight. Will change many things including your health, energy, activities you do with people, shopping of course, and overall outlook on life.

I agree. With my 1/4 cc out I actually feel hunger pangs again....with that being said I'm making sure I get the best out if my three meals a day focusing on foods that will keep me filler longer. In hoping I can get more exercise in and drop some weight without another fill. 12 pounds to goal and I have to make a regular consistent workout routine and continue to make good choices. Maybe this is my green zone. Unsure but I don't have discomfort and getting about 1-1 1/2 cups food now but fearful about gaining after unfill... I know this is healthier this way.

No fun...for some reason I couldn't have eggs...every time I would slime...I mean fast and furious!!! But now I can have them scrambled with cheese or poached not fried, crazy right? Try coining them or avoid for a time. The fills seem to change some of the things we can and can't eat. I just recently had a 1/4cc unfill and I'm able to eat some salads...trial and error.

I'm from Colorado, a cold front coming in...will let yah know if cold wreathed affects band. I think any elevation or weather change can affect the band along with viruses and colds, salt intake, time of month, travel, stress, among many things.
-
Please hang in there you are new to the band. Changes will come in time I know this. I honestly stay away from rice, I do eat a tiny bit of pasta, not much bread. Some foods really irritate my stomach/band so you eventually learn what works...can be temperamental at times.

Allison.birch please know that it takes a gradual journey to get this weight off and not an overnight thing you probably all ready know. I remember asking the same questions like you. Don't get discouraged please. I was 276 and now I'm 163 two years out. I lost my best weight going into second year. I chose to fill slower and held out on fills, finally last May, 2011...I began to see changes after I think fourth fill. Size 16...yay. Then here in April 2012 got another fill and weight dropped again this time size 14! Ok so in October I dropped 18 pounds to now. Had a recent unfill and I'm maintaining. But in size 11-12 almost 10. It's a definite journey but it will happen!!!!!
