    Just Got The Call.

Glad to hear you are doing well! Make sure you keep moving/walking to rid yourself of some of the gas and of course to not allow any clots to build. Welcome to having a tiny stomach!

    Low Grade Fever

I only ran a very low grade fever at 99.9 for a 2-3 days. How long have you been on the antibiotics? Make sure you are getting plenty of fluids and try to keep moving. You know your body, so if you get really concerned, CALL HIM ANYWAYS!
  3. Hi Cynthia! Sorry you are feeling so bad. It could be acid reflux or severe heartburn maybe? I felt that way and changed from the prescription I was given to Zantac 150 and have felt much better. Otherwise, you should call your surgeon's office and request an appointment, ASAP! Keep us posted! Hope you're better soon!

15 Day Post Op 21 Lbs Down But Stalled 3 Days Now...

I've also stalled at 4 weeks post op. It's ok though. I would take my measurements if I were you. Most times when you don't see the difference on the scales you can see the difference in inches. Also, keep a food journal. You may be getting too many calories, too much sodium and not enough aerobic type exercise. Try walking if nothing else. Keep in touch. My short term goal is to break this stall and be down another 10lbs. by June 15th.
  6. Ok, I've noticed a lot of sleevers on here mentioning really long, intense pre-op liquid diets and drain tubes? Tell me more please? I did a low calorie diet for a week and a full liquid diet for a week and a liquid diet for 1 day!

  7. Yes, my week 2 was pureed also. I didn't try the tuna until yesterday! I am not too sure about the Carnation Instant Breakfast due to calories and low protein compared to those specifically for weight loss surgery or heavy training. EAS products from Wal-Mart are highly recommended. Try that and see if you are still experiencing the hunger. Also, are you getting in all 64oz. of liquids each day? That should also help with hunger.

    Emotions

Maybe not feelings of guilt as much as fear! Fear caused me to continually doubt the necessity of the surgery. I had to stay focused on the end result and not allow myself to get in the way of making the best decision for my life! I knew once it was all over I would be better than ever and 4 weeks post op tomorrow, better I am! You hang in there! No doubts! You will definitely be glad you did!

    Growing Impatient!

Call that office every day until they can tell you for sure that they have submitted! You have every right to do so as a PAYING patient! Especially an insurance paying patient!

    Too Many Meds

I was weaned off of all 3 of my bp meds at 1 week post op due to bp being too low! Hopefully your bariatric clinic has a bariatrician who specializes in meds, and comorbidities.
  11. I can tell you that it normally has to be found medically necessary or a serious problem with the band. Not just the fact that you may not have lost enough weight. Just know that it is very hard to find anyone to accept Humana for weight loss surgery and especially for a revision, if they cover revisions at all. And yes, any good program is also going to make you go through their requirements the same as any new patient, unless you are considering using the same surgeon.
  12. I totally agree with lmp817! It is usually what you are eating and how fast you are eating. What do you mean by "hurts"? I was sleeved on May 3rd and have not had any pain since day 3 post op. I did eat some dry tuna that I thought for sure was gonna kill me...but otherwise have been feeling just fine. I eat really slow and anything soupy or super moist. As for being hungry, hardly ever! Are you getting all of your Protein in? Protein drinks (meal supplements) should help with the hunger, maybe even prevent it! If so, what type are you using and how are you using it?

    Just Got The Call.

Praying all goes well for you both! Just know the first couple of days are a bit rough but it gets much better by the third day!
  14. You would never think I work for a weight loss surgery center! I am adjusting well, however have hit a few snags. Heartburn/Acid Reflux, no appetite, and am really tired in the mornings.

    I Was Sleeved May 23..

CONGRATS! My husband actually had his a year prior to me having the sleeve procedure! We save so much money now! Lol...sharing a child's plate is fantastic. Hope you both have a speedy recovery. I was sleeved on May 3rd and am still adjusting.
  17. Hi Shannon! I was 1 week post op yesterday and I do wake up each morning feeling really weak! I made the mistake of making Protein shakes the past couple of days and barely getting any down, then hardly anything else throughout the day. Today, I simply mixed my 2 scoops of whey protein Meal Replacement powder with Water and ice and i've gotten it down easily! That's half my protein for the day and half of a Powerade zero! And I feel more energy already! In the future, I plan on waking an hour early and drinking powerade zero or protein & water before getting my day started.
  18. 1 week post op today...I'm stoked! I have been able to get 1/2 my protein in already and all of my supplements!

I Really Thought I Was Prepared

Yes! I am 5 days post op and also had hernia repair along with my new sleeve! It felt like a contraction to me? Today, I have felt it a lot less. I did lots of sugar free popsicles and Italian Ice (made with Splenda)! For warmth, I did lots of hot Crystal Light lemon aid and boy did it help. Use your pain meds! They really make a difference. I halved mine along with half of the nausea meds every 4 hours. Hope you're better soon!

    Back 2 Work Today

Glad to hear that you are doing better. I was sleeved on last Thursday May 3rd and returned to work on Monday May 7th! I work for a bariatric surgeons office at a desk, so they were not trying to hear it! Lol...thank God, so far, so good!

    Need Honest Answers

I am 5 days post-op and remember feeling the same way! It is absolutely normal and there are always risk involved in any surgery or procedure. I actually took a break from this forum in order to stick with my decision to change my life! I will say that making a good sound decision on your surgery team is super important! Make sure that you have your mind made up as to what the lifestyle change requires and you should be just fine! Good luck on making and sticking with your decision...either way! No Regrets...
  23. I am 5 days post-op and feeling GREAT! So, which protein powder is REALLY tasteless?
