I have been reading about Michael Mosleys work with intermittent fasting, specifically his 5:2 plan. Eating regular meals 5 days and low calorie 2 days. Is anyone following this plan?

I tried to respond to a thread in the veterans forum and it said I do not have enough posts to post in this forum. How can I get around this.

I live in Canada and had surgery in the US. My family doctor in Canada did all the follow up care. My surgeon suggested I have the vertical sleeve because there fewer problems with that surgery, and follow up is easier. You need to make sure you have a doctor where you live willing to look after you after the surgery and set it up before surgery. Best of luck.

cynthia4722 replied to sureaboutme2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It depends on who is asking. Some people I tell I had the surgery, others I tell them I am watching what I eat. -

5:2 intermittent fasting thread--open to all
cynthia4722 replied to TES's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't recommend fasting til one is at least a year out from surgery. You need to make sure your body is healed and have had blood tests to make sure you are getting all your nutrients before you start fasting. -
One year out I have joined weight watchers. I find it helpful as there are no surgery support groups where I live. I don't follow the points too strictly, but I find the support and strategies for eating well helpful.

I was weighing by weight, but I realized if I did that with things like chicken it was too much food ,so I measure by volume. -

I had surgery July 2012 a year ago. I am ni longer diabetic but my doctor is keeping me on metformin twice a day. She said that once you are diabetic your pancreas has been affected and therefore she says I will continue to need Metformin. -
Dont be in a hurry to exercise strenously. You have had major surgery. I too felt like I could do more after the surgery but it is best to listen to your doctor.. You need time to heal.
